THROSSELL, Ruth, 94, of San Miguel Village, died February 15, 1996. Survived by son, Allan (Theresa) Throssell of Sells; ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Service Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. San Miguel Community Center, San Miguel with Pastor Ralph Hilton of Glad Tidings Assembly of God officiating. Friends may call Tuesday 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY.

BELKNAP, Kara Louise Christine, age 17, passed away February 18, 1996 in Winslow, AZ. She was born in Tucson. The family came to Holbrook in 1985. She attended scholl here and was presently a Junior at Holbrook High School. She had been a cheerleader, was on the Student Council, a baseball statistician, a member of the Spanish Club, the Ski Club and C.Y.U. She worked part time at the Holbrook Public Library. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She is survived by her parents, Kim and Peggy Belknap of Holbrook; one brother, Kurt Latham Belknap of Holbrook; her grandparents, Gerald and Pat Smith of Tucson and Julian and Virginia Mapp of El Paso, TX. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 21st at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20th at the church. Owens Mortuary of Holbrook handled arrangements.

CAMPBELL, James E., 81, died February 18, 1996. Survived by his sons, Walter C. Campbell of WI and Al Campbell of Tucson; three grandchildren; and companion, Wanda Beckelman. No services are planned. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

CEASER, Herman J. Born March 29, 1926, passed away February 18, 1996. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA; he resided in Tucson, AZ since 1970 working as a carpenter for local #408. He is survived by wife, Myrtle; son, Joseph (Mary) Ceaser; daughters, Keren (Edward) Young, Sheryl (Dale) Eaton, all residing in Tucson, AZ; son, David of Mountaintop, PA. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in Tucson with burial in Dorrance, PA.

DOYLE, Edward D., 57, of Kenneth Square, PA, died Sunday, February 18, 1996 at Chester Co. Hospital, West Chester, PA. He is survived three children, Edward Doyle, Jr, Cathy Bedill and Vickie Doyle, all of Tucson, AZ. Also survived by one sister Mrs. Harold (Rita) Boedicker of Lima, OH and a brother, James P. Doyle of Herne, TX. Arrangements are being handled by Koller Funeral Home of Philadelphia, PA.

FISHMAN, James I., a resident and business man in Tucson, AZ since April 1986, passed away February 17, 1996 in Tucson; was born January 28, 1940 in Terra Haute, IN. Survived by wife, Carol; mother, De Loris Fishman; children, Marc and Michael of Indianapolis, IN, Mara (Ken) Lee of Atlanta, GA; stepchildren, Timothy Hughes of Fort Gordon, GA, Dawn (Michael) Doane of Gilbert, AZ; grandchildren, Kara Bennett of Indianapolis, IN, Megan, Brennan and Lauren Hughes of Mattoon, IL. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Fishman. He served in the U.S. Army, graduated from Indiana State University, was president of Best Supply, Inc., Tucson, AZ. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by family and friends. Services will be February 21, 1996 at Callahan’s Funeral Home in Terra Haute, IN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Tucson Jewish Community Center, Tucson.

FOLEY, Mary Ann, 80, born June 22, 1916, died February 15, 1996. She was a member and past president of VFW Auxiliary #10015, DAV Auxiliary #18, American Legion Post 7 and Moca Auxiliary Pup Tent 2. She gave so much love and volunteer time to everyone. She is loved and will be missed by all of us. She is survived by her daughter, MaryBelle (Joseph) Goldmeer; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her sister, Helen (Charles) Tilson; and many nieces and nephews, all of Phoenix. She is especially missed by her best friend, Marian Miller and the Miller and Foley families. Cryptside Services in Phoenix at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21st. Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary is in charge.

FOSS, Richard Dell, 54, of Tucson, died February 18, 1996. Survived by wife, Linda; parents, Lewis and Elma Foss; daughter, Melinda (Brian) Ernest, all of Tucson; son, Scott (Kimberly) Foss of Littleton, CO; sisters, Linda (Greg) Meade and Nancy (Benny) Bingham, all of Tucson; brothers, LeRoy (Karen) Foss of Tucson and Thomas (Linda) Foss of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren, Collin Foss, Cody and Riley Ernest; mother-in-law, Annette Lunn of Chandler; sisters-in-law, Sharon Valley of Silverdale, WA, Nadine Valley of Chandler and Becky Brendel of Tucson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Celebration of Life will be held at the family’s residence on Saturday, February 24, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Andrew G. Ross of Northminster Presbyterian Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children in Youth Building Fund, Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2450 E. Ft. Lowell Rd., 85719. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY.

HEBB, David E., 52, born July 18, 1943 in Worcester, MA, died February 17, 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith (nee Dion). David graduated from Classical High School in Worcester, MA; American International College in Springfield, MA and earned a Master of Business Administration from National University in San Diego, CA. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a territory sales manager for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp. and had been an Arizona resident for 16 years. Mr. Hebb is survived by his wife, Kathleen (nee Harris); brother, Robert of Westfield, MA; nieces, nephews, and godsons. Friends may call 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 22, 1996 at the EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in David’s memory, be sent to TMC Foundation/Hospice, 5301 E. Grant Rd. Tucson 85712.

KENNEDY, Donna, 90, died Friday, February 16, 1996. She is survived by daughter, Patricia and Carol Patricia’s life partner; her grandson, Kurt Johnson of San Francisco; also several nieces and nephews. Donna spent many years in Long Beach, CA on to Sedona, AZ and the last two years here in Tucson. A heart felt thank-you to the staff on the Rincon Unit at Villa Campana and a special thanks to Debbie F. The hospice team of Carondelet made it possible for my mother to have the quality of life she deserved. In memory of my mother, for her special love of cats, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Tucson. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, 881-0338.

KOERNER, Harvey H., 81, passed away February 9, 1996 in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his wife, Marie C. Koerner; brother Richard Koerner; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Fred Howe; grandchildren, Sheryl McCraw and Danny Howe; great-grandchildren Zane, Jerad and Shannon. He was a veteran of WWII; retired from Hughes Aircraft as a machinist. Private services held.

LETSAK, Joseph P. Sr., 71, of Tucson, died February 17, 1996. Father of Joseph P. Letsak Jr. of Tucson; two grandchildren. Also survived by three sisters and three brothers. Funeral Services private. Arrangements by ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave. (888-1111).

PLACE, Edna M., 89, of Tucson, entered into rest February 18, 1996. Preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; son, Donnie Bob; and four brothers and sisters. Survived by several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Poliak of IL and Jovernia Sothers of KS; and close friends and caregivers, Gordon and Wyona of Tucson. Edna and Maurice were long time instructors in the round dance community. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., where Funeral Service will be held 9:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22. Burial will follow in East Lawn Palms Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to TMC Hospice, 5301 E. RANKHORN, Joseph R. Jr., 24, passed away February 11, 1996. He is survived by father, Joseph Rankhorn Sr.; and two brothers, Johnathan and Christopher and family. Wake will be 10:30 a.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, Wednesday, February 21. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. “We will miss you Joe Joe.’

REED, Harriet W., 86, of Tucson, passed away February 18, 1996. Survived by sons, William Sluss of Tucson, Richard (Lois) Sluss of Maryland; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at ARIZONA MORTUARY, 7 E. University Blvd. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. at ARIZONA MORTUARY CHAPEL, with interment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

WESTCOTT, Thelma V., 76, resident of Tucson for 68 years, died February 18, 1996. Mother of Carol M. Bender of Tucson, Michelle L. Goeglein of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL Wednesday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. with Ellis LaRavia officiating. Interment private. ARENSBERG, Margy, 64, a resident of Angel Fire, died Sunday, February 18, 1996. She is survived by her sister, Betty Burzio and husband Tony; and brother, G. Howard Arensberg. AUSTIN, David, 43, died February 19, 1996 in Tucson. A Memorial Service is planned for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 1996 at Dove of Peace Lutheran Church, 665 W. Roller Coaster Rd. Family suggest donations to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 630 N. Craycroft, Tucson, AZ. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, 881-0338.

BOWYER, Marion “Lee’, born April 23, 1917 in Bedford, VA, passed on to a better life February 18, 1996 after being sick for many years. He moved to Arizona in 1952. Lee is survived by wife, Maxine; children, Linda Spiker of Tucson, Kenneth Bowyer of Willis, TX, Joyce Bowyer of Belleville, IL and Stephen Bowyer of Tucson. He is survived by two sisters in Virginia, Fleta Cheek and Jewell Jennings; also seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a member of Emery Park Baptist Church. Before his medical retirement in 1975 he was a service station/garage owner-operator on N. 1st Ave. He was also a volunteer at the VA Medical Center. Lee was an avid reader and traveled to many places in his books. He wrote two books based on his childhood memories and recollections from his readings. His other favorite pastime was fishing. Visitation will be held at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., on Wednesday 21 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside Service will held at South Lawn Thursday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Association. He was loved and will be missed.

CARSON, Dorothy L., 89, died February 12, 1996. Born December 27, 1906 in Iola, KS. Attended Fairmount College in Wichita, graduated UCLA in 1927. Children’s librarian in Los Angeles Public Library system 1928-69. Retired to Phoenix, where she volunteered at Desert Botanical Gardens and Good Samaritan Hospital. During the 20 years they lived in Phoenix, Dorothy and Joe traveled to Hawaii, Europe, and Mexico, and toured the U.S. in their Winnebago. Moved to Tucson in 1987 and became active in the Valley Manor community. Pre-deceased by her husband of 62 years, Joe, in 1992. Survived by her children, Jo Anne (Ken) Jenkins of Tucson, Robert (Sandie) of Phoenix, Jim (Ann) of Albuquerque, Mary (Mike) Dillon of Pleasanton, CA; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and Patrick the cat. She willed her body to UA College of Medicine. There will be no services at her request.

CRUZ, William “Bill’, 37, beloved son, brother, god father and uncle, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 1996. Survived by parents, Maria and Ignacio; sisters, Mary, Martha, Mercedes and Cecilia; brothers, Peter and Raymond; several nieces and nephews. Family requests, that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shanti, Tihan or Tucson Aids Project. Private services were held Wednesday, February 14.

FLEMING, Derek A. “D-ROC’, 18, a resident of Tucson, passed away February 19, 1996. Survived by parents, Allen Fleming and Pamela Fleming; sister, Charlene Fleming, all of Tucson; maternal grandmother, Olla Strange of Tucson; maternal grandfather, Harold Strange of OH; paternal great-grandmother, Bea Turnbough of IL; and a host of relatives and friends also survive. Derek was an outstanding Senior at Sabino High School, where he was co-captain of the football team and captain of the track team. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 23 at 22nd Street Baptist Church with Pastor David Houchin officiating. Interment South Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.
