Escobar; daughter of Lupe N. Perez and Emilio L. Maldonado; sister of Refugio Perez, Emilia M. Esparza, Gene, Gilbert, Emilio and Linda Maldonado; six grandchildren also survive. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 17 at Our Lady Queen of All Saints, 2915 E. 36th St. Burial in Holy Hope Cemetery. GORDON, William Emmett, Col., USAF, Ret., 75, of Tucson, died Monday, May 13, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Blanche; children, Charles Gordon, Shirley Gordon-Delany; grandchildren, John and Jessica Delany, all of Tucson; niece, Sally Stover of WY. A Visitation will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Thursday, May 16, 1996 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL. Interment and Military Graveside Services will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

HAUG, Grace, 83 years old, died Monday, May 13, 1996 in Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by husband, Melvin Haug. Survivors include daughter, Ruth Anne (Charles) Mincks of PA; daughter, Mary (Rev. Paul) Young of CA; daughter, Carol (Charles C.) Walker; and daughter, Elaine Turley, both of WA; daughter, Esther Martin of Tucson; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Lura Caswell of CA; sister, Margaret Flach of MI. Funeral Services 9:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 1996 at ARIZONA MORTUARY CHAPEL, with the Rev. Paul Young officiating. Family wish any donations to Missionaries to Ukraine: c/o C.B. International, P.O. HOTCHKISS, Gertrude L., 71 years old, went to her final resting on Tuesday, May 14, 1996. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert “Pops’ Hotchkiss; five children with spouses, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will miss her greatly and remember her lovingly. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 1996 at ARIZONA MORTUARY.

JACOBS, Marion, 87, passed away May 15, 1996. Survived by daughters, Janice (Ivan) Fankuchen of Tucson and Marjorie (Richard) Fenner of Kew Gardens, NY; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17th at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swan, with Rabbi Joseph Weizenbaum officiating. Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association.

KEATING, Dorothy Nelson, passed away May 13, 1996 in Tucson, AZ. Born in Vermont, June 10, 1933 she was a longtime resident of Northampton, MA. She graduated from Commercial College and worked as a legal secretary. She moved to Tucson in 1983. She retired from the Pima County Public Defenders Office. She leaves her husband, Robert W. Keating; a daughter, Sharon Loranger of Westfield, MA; and a son, John. There will be no calling hours.

OSUNA ORTIZ, Lucy, 35, a lifelong resident of Tucson, died May 12, 1996. Survived by sisters, Carmen Gonzales and Maria Jesus Bustamante; brothers, Luciano F., Andy F. and Raymond Gastelum, Joe Valerio and Fred Osuna, all of Tucson. Lucy was preceded in death by her mother, Alicia O. Gastelum. She was a volunteer for the past four years at El Rio Health Clinic. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave. Interment South Lawn Cemetery.

SPEER, Kim G., 41, of Tucson, died May 14, 1996. Survived by wife, Deanna; daughters, Amy and Shannyn; sons, Tom Deneke and Paul Deneke; parents, Phillip and Sylvia Speer; brothers, Mark, Craig and Todd; sister, Dana; brother-in-law, Hanny; sisters-in-law, Pat, Shannon and Cindy; nephews, Chad, Daniel, Jared, Joshua; nieces, Deanna, Nicole, Kara, Torrey; grandmother, Ferne Stanek; grandfather, Robert Stanek; great nephews, Jordan and Zachary. Mr. Speer was a coach for disabled sports, and active in Odyssey of the Mind. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 1996 at Unity of Tucson, 3617 N. Camino Blanco with Rev. THOMPSON, Mr. Carols Cook, 84, of Phoenix, born in Fairbury, IL, died May 15, 1996. Survived by daughters, Judy Kelleher and Joan Beck; sons, John and James Thompson; sister, Dorothy Stevens; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. EMERLING, Lawrence Milton (Larry) Sr., born January 13, 1926, passed away May 11, 1996. Loving husband of Mary of 48 years; father of Lawrence Jr., wife Cathy; daughter, Linda Clark, husband Herman. Will be greatly missed by grandson, Frank and great granddaughter, Ashley. His loving kindness and humor will be deeply missed. A Memorial to be held at Tucson Baptist Temple Chapel, 1525 S. GROTH, Bernice Eva, 87, a 50 year resident of Tucson, died Sunday, May 12, 1996. Survived by son, Nyle (Sari); granddaughters, Teresa (Ken) Bolinski and Tammy Groth; grandsons, Lani, Joel and James; brothers, Harold DeVaul of Inwood, Iowa and Clarence DeVaul of Tacoma, WA. Member of Amphi Mens Club and a long standing nurse at Tucson General Hospital. Services 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 1996 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, with Rev. Dr. Richard F. HAWLEY, Margaret Miller, 92, author and poetess, a long time resident of Tucson, and active in Catholic Church affairs, including teaching young people in the Church’s CCD classes, died at Tucson Medical Center on Sunday, May 12, 1996 after a long illness. She is survived by a cousin, Mr. Donald Miller of Bethesda, MD and a cousin by marriage, Mrs. Andrea Lorig of Seattle, WA. Margaret came to Tucson in 1942 with her husband, Archibald D. Hawley, Sr., and their son, Archibald, Jr. She had been a resident of the Bel Air Ranch Estates community since 1964. Mr. Hawley died in 1977; her son passed away in 1988. Margaret was born February 1, 1905 in Washington, D.C., and was married in 1929. Viewing and Rosary, Friday, May 17, 1996 at 7:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Saturday, May 18, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. Interment follows immediately after Mass at the Holy Hope Cemetery. Local arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, (at Speedway).

JOHNSON, Clayton Nicholas, 78 years old, died Monday, May 13, 1996 in Tucson. Survived by four sons, Michael Johnson of Tucson, Eric Johnson of Phoenix, David Johnson of Everett, WA, and Robert Johnson of Tucson; three stepsons, Gerald DeLong of Montgomery, AL, James DeLong of Las Vegas, NV, Jeffrey DeLong of Pleasant Valley, NY; two stepdaughters, Debbie Rae Kuhn, Roseville, CA, Mary Kittrick of Millinocket, ME; two brothers, Ray Johnson of Kennewick, WA, Phil Johnson of Goldendale, WA; sister, Charlotte Johnson of Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 1996 at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway. Inurnment will be at the Arizona Veterans Cemetery in Phoenix.

KABLER, Ilene J. nee Rosenbrock, of Tucson, died Monday, May 13, 1996. Survivors include beloved husband of 53 years, E.A. Kabler; son, Christon D. Kabler; daughters, Cherine (Jerry) Hathaway, Colette (Dennis) Ryan; granddaughters, Loretta Underwood and Veronica Foster; numerous nieces, nephew and other relatives also survive. Mrs. Kabler was preceded in death by her parents, August and Ethel, a sister, Ione, brother, Richard and a grandson, Eric who was two. Mrs. Kabler retired from T.U.S.D. where she worked for 35 years. She was a longtime member of Tucson Prize Wranglers and North American Benefit Association. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 1996. PFLEGER, Anne G. (Nance), of Tucson, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 1996. Survived by daughter, Elizabeth Victor; and granddaughter, Stephanie A. Talbot of Tucson; grandson, Richard A. Pfleger and granddaughter, Cheryl L. Pfleger of Flemington, NJ; great grandsons, Thomas, Jordan and Colin; sister, Gladys Smith, as well as nieces and nephews. For all those who knew her she was a source of warmth and kindness. A true angel on earth. A Tucson resident since 1975, she helped found TelaCare and taught numerous handiwork classes. Memorial Service will be at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 4:00 p.m. May 24, 1996.

SAGER, William J. (Bill), died May 13, 1996. Survivors include, Connee, wife of 37 years; brothers, Wendell, Donald, and David; and sisters, Ruth Spencer, Beverly Veldt, Celia Hicks, and Pat Myers. Bill had lived in his beloved Arizona for 40 years. A Memorial Service will be held later. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY. Memorial donations may be made to favorite charity.

STARBUCK, Perry L., son of Clarence R. and Hattie C. Starbuck, was born at Smith Center, KS, on January 11, 1904, and died at Tucson, AZ on May 13, 1996 at the age of 92. He graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS in 1927 and married Emma R. Timbers of Salina on June 16, 1928. He received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He retired from the IBM Corporation in 1969 after 25 years of service in various executive positions in Education, Personnel, Accounting, and Administration. He has been a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tucson since 1973 and has been a member of the Board of Trustees, and Elder and Treasurer for the church. A 61 year member of Kiwanis International, he has served as Club President, Lieutenant Governor and Governor of the New York District. He was a Senior Member of the Sunshine Kiwanis Club of Tucson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Emma in 1994; and is survived by his daughter, Dawn Simpson of Aynor, SC; son, Gary L. Starbuck of Endicott, NY; a granddaughter; and three great grandsons. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 1996 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University Blvd., with Rev. Dick Randall officiating. Private Interment will be at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, Memorial Fund. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

ULIBARRI, Richard M., 36, of Tucson, passed away May 16, 1996. Survived by grandparents, Elias H. and Aurora Orozco; great grandmother, Lillia Ponce; parents, Jose A. Ulibarri and Grace Shipley; niece, Monique Ornelas; nephews, Gabriel, Miguel and Angel Ornelas; sister, Terry Ornelas; brothers, Eli Orozco Espinosa.
