A graduate of Northwestern University, Kay was an elementary school teacher in her early years. Stricken with rheumatoid arthritis at age 29, she continued to be active in volunteer activities through her church, the St. Mary's Auxiliary and (more recently) the Holy Family Care Center. For over 10 years Kay was a ‘patient instructor' at the U of A's College of Medicine, and for several years served as a unit leader with the League of Women Voters. She enjoyed people, flowers, color, music, prayer, news and the life and activities of her family and friends. Life's circumstances were not always easy for Kay, but she persisted and ‘overcame' with a deep trust in the grace of our Lord! She looked forward to, and sought to help others prepare for, the Life Beyond.
