WADDLE, Margaret G., born March 28, 1903 in Bloomington, Illinois, died peacefully December 16, 1996 in Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; and her son, Gilbert. She is survived by her loving family, son, John (Jean); grandchildren, Lori (Marshall), Denise Gail (Chris), Brian (Linda), Denise Lynn (Cameron), Gary, Matthew, and Mark; seven great-grandchildren; plus loving friend Katie Gross. Memorial Service will be held at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, Saturday, December 21, at 12:00 p.m. Private interment will be at South Lawn Memorial Park. WISZ, Henry A. 'Hershey', 77, died December 18, 1996. Survived by his wife, Helen Bernice Wisz; son, Tom (Susan) Wisz; daughters, Christine (William) Wilson, Elizabeth (Randy) Gutierrez and Katherine (Edward) Garner; grandchildren, Kevin and Jeffrey Wisz, Kathryn and Andrew Wilson, Robert and Christopher Gutierrez, Patricia and Susan Garner; brother, Edwin Holt. Preceded in death by grandson Jay Garner. 'Hershey' was a resident of Tucson for the past 35 years and was District Manager with Metropolitan Life Insurance. Rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 1996 at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima St., where Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 1996. BERRYMAN, James G., 83, resident of Willcox, AZ, 43 years, joined our Heavenly Father, December 15, 1996. Preceded in death by his wife Wanda in 1994. Survived by his children, Gerald (Sherry) Berryman of Willow, AK, Sue (Terry) McCarthy and Joyce (Donald) Gravning of Tucson, Erroll (Gayle) Berryman of Salem, OR, and Karen Easthouse of Prescott, AZ. Also, survived by nine grandchildren, Gregory, Houston, Connie, Coby, Dawn, Damon, Heidi, Dylan and Krystal; and seven great-grandchildren, Kristen, Jonathan, Stephanie, Angela, Holly, Bryce and Sean; brothers, Doyle and Truitt Berryman; and sisters, Ruth Vernon and Irene Brady. FORDYCE, Lucile, 85, of Tucson, died December 16, 1996. KELLER, Flora Goff, 90, Flora was born in Los Angeles in 1906 and moved to Tucson in 1912. She passed away December 16, 1996. She is survived by her daughter, Bernice Kyle and son, Joe Goff; grandchildren, Roy (Kathleen) Kyle, Ruth (Lee) Misevch, Charley (Terri) Goff, Susan (Brian) Libby; great grandchildren, Whitney and David Kyle, Mike and Shelly Misevch, Seldon, Kaylee, and Emily Goff, and Laura Libby. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Seldon Goff and Leo Keller and a grandson Joe A. Goff. She was a graduate of Tucson High School, Class of 1923 and loved her family and the family ranch she and Seldon started over 65 years ago. Gogie’s smile, sense of humor and encouragement will remain with us forever. We miss her dearly. Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 1996 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Donations may be made to The Educational Enrichment Foundation, 1661 N. KETTNICH, Marvin E., age 65, of Oro Valley, passed away December 14, 1996. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Jeanne; children, Mark (Judy) Kettnich and their son, Michael of Battle Ground, IN, Lisa (Richard) Bellah of Lafayette, IN and John Kettnich of Phoenix, AZ; and his father, Ernst Kettnich of Chicago, IL. Marvin was a disc jockey for WASK AM in Lafayette, IN for 38 years. Memorial Services will be held at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 2800 W. Ina Rd., Friday, December 20, 1996, at 11:00 A.M., with Father Gregory Wyes officiating. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. LAZAROW, Pearl Brown, passed away December 17, 1996 at 70 years of age. She was born January 24, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Lillian and Hyman Brown. At age six she moved with her family to Tucson where she remained for the rest of her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Benjamin Lazarow; her sons, Sheldon, Howard and Lee; her sister, Rae Michelson of Bay Harbour Islands, FL; grandchildren, Jason, Briana, Ari, Heather and Lacy. She was a beautiful woman, both physically and in personality. She was loving, unselfish, compassionate and wise. The most important thing in her life was her family. The next most important thing in her life was her numerous friends. She loved and adored her family and put them before anything else in her life. She was always there when they needed her and she never let them down. She was the bright star in our lives. She always had a shining smile and a kind word. We loved her with all of our hearts. We learned from her and we adored her. Her passing will leave a large hole in our lives, but we will remember her with great love and adoration. She will be in our hearts forever. She was a very charitable woman who spent a great deal of her earlier years working tirelessly for Jewish charities. She was named the first young Jewish woman of the year in Tucson because of her devotion to the charity work she loved. She was also named the outstanding combined Jewish Appeal worker. She had served on the executive board of the Tucson Jewish Community Center in her earlier years. She was also an active member of B’nai B’rith, the Tucson Chapter of Brandeis University National Women’s Committee, and numerous other charitable organizations. She enjoyed her family and her numerous friends. We all are enriched by having our lives touched by her. We will miss her. Services Thursday 1:00 p.m. at Congregation Anshei Israel, 5550 E. 5th St. with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky and Cantor Ivor Lichterman officiating. Interment Congregation Anshei Israel section, Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

LESHER, Robert, 67, of Oro Valley. Passed away December 17, 1996. Survived by his wife Elizabeth ‘Liz’; three daughters, Susan (Lawrence) McAnneny of Germany, Mary (Gary) Dokes of AK, Janet Lesher of HI; three grandchildren, Patrick age 10, Kathleen age 8, Philip age 3; one brother, Forrest Lesher of OR. One niece and one nephew also survive. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 21, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 750 W. MONROE, William (Bill) D., born April 6, 1915 in Cottonwood Falls, KS, died December 15, 1996 in Tucson, AZ. His wit and music with Bob Cats Band will be missed by all who knew Bill. He is survived by his wife, Ruth I. Monroe; sons, Wiley, Eric, Daniel, Michael and Lonnie; and daughter, Candice. Also by step daughters, Sharon Green and Connie Lamb; his sisters, Ann Simmons of Strong City, KS and Maybe Hebenthal now residing in Florida. Also survived by many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Bill retired from Martin-Marietta, Englewood, CO and was a long time member of the Elks and Moose Lodges there and in Tucson. Contributions may be made to Tucson Medical Center Hospice Services. Memorial Service if Thursday, December 19, 1996 at 4:30 at Unitarian-Universalist Church, 4831 E. 22nd St., Tucson.

MORELOS, Joe A., went to be with the Lord on December 15, 1996 at the very young age of 56. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Caroline, who deeply loved him and will miss him very much. He is also survived by his children, Maria (Luis) Garcia, Joseph Jr. (Debbie) Morelos, Monica (Eddie) Perez; and step-children, Debbie (Mark) Schmucker and Barbie (John) Backer; grandchildren, Luis, Connie, Clarissa Garcia, Jake Morelos, Christopher, Eddie, Jose Perez, Nicole, Aaron Schmucker and Amanda Backer; siblings, Roberto (Belia) Morelos, Felix (Cecilia) Morelos, Celia(Edward) Pain, Mary (Ernie) Arvizu and Cecilia (Johnny) Martinez; mother and father-in-law, Fred and Amelia Quiroz; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He will greatly miss his friends at D.P.S. Joe will be loved and remembered forever. We miss you so much already. He was one in a million! Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 1996 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel), 204 S. Stone Ave, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Saturday, December 21, 1996 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery.

ROHDE, Vida Perry, age 95, died on Sunday, December 15, 1996. Predeceased by husband, Albert W. Rohde in 1987. Survived by four sons, Bert of Boston, Carl of New Orleans, Thomas of Pasadena, CA and Robert of Roseburg, OR; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was a native of Newfoundland, Canada and resided in Tucson for the past 35 years. Private burial arrangements. In lieu of flowers The family requests that Memorial Donations be made to the Parkinson’s Association.

VAN CLEEF, Shirley Clarke, 83, of Tucson, died December 15, 1996. Mrs. Van Cleef came to Arizona from New England in 1960. In 1962 she opened a candle shop, Casa De Luz in the De Grazia Studios at the corner of Prince and Campbell. After retiring she concentrated on writing poetry. She is survived by one son, Henry of Denver, CO; two daughters, Susanna Joannidis of Cambridge, MS and Shirley Sullivan of Denver, CO; two nieces, Sally Dallas of Phoenix and Cecily Gill of Tucson; and six grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at DeGrazias Mission in the Sun, 6300 N. Swan on Friday, December 20, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy or charity of your choice.

WILSON, Paul A., 31, of Tucson, died December 16, 1996. Beloved son of Homer and Yvonne Wilson; and dear sister, Phaedra Wilson. Private family services will be held. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL.

ZAPPULLA, Mary C., 65. Died Sunday, December 15, 1996 in Tucson. Survived by husband, Salvatore Zappulla of Tucson; two sons, Franklin S. Deboer Jr. of St. Petersburg Beach, FL, Bruce Alexander Deboer of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Kathy Deboer of Ridgefield, CT; two sisters, Annette McGuire of New York City and Christina Filopowitz of Staton Island, NY and one grandson, Christopher Alexander Ringston. Visitation for Mrs. Zappulla will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 1996 at WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway, 881-0338.

BAKER, Charles H., 95, of Tucson, died December 15, 1996. Survived by son, Robert W. Baker of Tucson. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. where funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 19. Burial will follow in East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

BRIGGS, Pauline Marie, died Friday, December 13, 1996 at the age of 82. She is survived by her brother, Martin Bartels of Illinois; her sister, Dorothy Emler of Ohio; her son, Barrett (Malinda), her daughters, Karen Dodson (Bob) and Karla Briggs, all of Tucson; four grandchildren, Rodney Meek (Roberta), Karleen Meek, and Lauren Briggs, all of Tucson, and Joanne Hass (Frank) of Albuquerque; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati Nursing Program and served in the United States Army during World War II. She retired as Head Nurse of the Renal Transplant Unit of the Veterans’ Administration Hospital in 1975. She was a member of the Lionesses and of Jacob’s Jesters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 1996 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, 3015 N. Oracle Rd. Visitation will also be held at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 E. Yavapai, on Wednesday, December 18, 1996 at noon prior to the Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church Building Fund.

HARTMAN, Betty Jean, age 65, passed away December 13, 1996. Betty, born in Warren, Ohio, was a retired registered nurse and a graduate of Garrettsville High School. She is survived by her brother, John Haislet; and her children, Theresa, Russell, John, Anthony and Rebecca (Hartman-Stutzman); and four grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held for friends and family at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 1996 at the Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, (1335 S. Swan Road, Tucson). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Case de Los Ninos.

HARWELL, Paul, 74, born December 16, 1921 in Ringling, OK, died December 10, 1996. A good guy, me never turned down a request for help, and never made an enemy. A long time member of the Eagles and the Elks, honorably discharged from the Coast Guard (Merchant Marine) as an officer in 1945. Survived by wife, Vivian; children, Paula Davis, Glen Harwell and Jan Wallace; grandchildren, Sara, Scottie, Rick, Melissa, Megan Jenny and his oldest grandson Dustin, for whom his love knew no boundaries. Private family service, please remember him by sending any memorial contributions to St. Mary’s Hospice Service, 1802 W. St. Mary’s Rd.
