He is survived by daughter, Pat Archie. He was a veteran of WWII and Army Air Corp. He was a deacon and long standing member of 22nd Street Baptist Church. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, Wednesday, April 9 from 4:00 to 7:00. Graveside services will be at East Lawn Cemetery, Thursday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m. with David Houchin officiating. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. BERRY, Eugenia M., age 72, of Tucson, died April 7, 1997. Survivors include daughter, Karen Hudson and granddaughter, Kellynn; son, Bill (Julie) Berry, San Mateo, CA. Ms. Berry has resided in Arizona for the past 24 years, moving here from California. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, Friday, April 11, 1997 from 1:30 to 2:30. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommaso Domino and two daughters, Marisa and Fernanda Domino. Mass will be offered 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 1997 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5651 E. ESPY, Robert R., 81, of Tucson, died April 5, 1997. Survived by wife, Frances of Tucson; daughter, Sally Espy Bratcher of Tucson; son, William R. of KY; grandchildren, John and Todd Bratcher; great-granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Bratcher and sister-in-law, Mary Wead of Tucson. He was a member of the Mission Ostomy Club. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. with Msgr. Thomas Cahalene officiating. HEIDT, Richard (Dick) Eugen, born 29, May 1928 in Curwensville, PA. Died in Tucson, AZ 7, April 1997. Dick was a retired senior border patrol agent with friends throughout the southwest and Sonora. He is survived by his wife, Ann Elizabeth; daughters, Christine Jane (Dale) Stinson, Janice Irene (Luis) De La Cruz, Elizabeth Ann (Louis) Ruiz; sons, Richard E. (Carol) Heidt Jr., Donald Roy, Fritz Erich, Dale Edward, Mark Dietrich; sister, Emma Lou (William) Grimes; brothers, Leonard Bruce (Kitty) Heidt, David Edward (Joan) Heidt, Jonas Wayne (Darlene) Heidt; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on 11, April at Holy Hope Cemetery Mausoleum. Arranged by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.

HENDERSON, John Sr., age 66, of Tucson, passed away March 30, 1997. Survived by wife, Ethel Henderson of Tucson; children, Marilyn F. Henderson, Tucson, Carilyn Davis, Texas, John H. Henderson Jr. and Barbara Jean Henderson, Tucson; mother, Willie Henderson, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters. Mr. Henderson was a member of Grandview Masonic Lodge #23; Noah Consitory #55; Semitar Temple #108. JOHNSON, Olga A. Was taken home to rest on Monday, April 7, 1997. She was born on September 27, 1906 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Axel and Anna Carlson of Goteborg, Sweden. In 1926 she married Harold O.W. Johnson and had two children. They resided in Holdrege, Nebraska, Omaha, Nebraska and Tucson, where Harold was with Sidles Co. and Sidles Motor Supply. Olga was invited to place her career sketch, which included her involvement with the Women’s Associations within the Presbyterian Church in various capacities as President, Secretary, Program Chairman and devotional leader in the first Edition of 'Who’s Who of American Women.' She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980. Survived by her children, Kathryn (Kyle) Petit, Stanford Johnson; granddaughters, Kyleen (Larry) Thomas, Kristi Petit, Kandi (Seth) Wilson; great-grandson, Kyle Petit and many other relatives and friends. She lived her days on earth with great joy as a wife, mother, nana, family member and friend. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 1997 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., with Pastor Steve Melde of Christ Presbyterian Church officiating. KELLY, Norma, 81, of Tucson, died April 5, 1997. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dan. PORTERFIELD, Grace Thompson, born October 1918. Ft. Gay, W. Virginia to Samuel J. and Mary Angeline Thompson. Survived by son, Samuel Stephen Porterfield (Sylvia) of Tacoma, WA; sister-in-law, Phyllis Thompson of Cle Elum, WA; nieces and nephews. Grace graduated from the school of Nursing, Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio and Ohio State University. Her long career in nursing included Professor of Nursing at Ohio State, Psychiatric Nurse Specialist, Lecturer and 27 years with the Veterans Administration, majority of which was served as Chief of Nursing Service. She retired to Tucson in 1972 from the V.A. in Prescott, AZ. There will be no formal funeral services. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association. RIETZ, Roy R., SMSgt, USAF, Ret., 69, of Tucson, died Friday, April 4, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Thelma; daughter, Patricia K. Tucker; stepchildren, Sharon G. Campbell, Ronald D. Bunch; brothers, Walter Rietz, Vernon Rietz; sisters, Anita Ritchie, Lela Frith, Margaret Quitta; and nine grandchildren. Mr. Rietz retired in 1973 after 27 years in the U.S. Air Force, and retired in 1992 after 14 years with TUSD. He was a member of VFW Post #549, American Legion Post #36, and DAV Chapter 2. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 1997 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Interment will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. VEGA, Claud Cruz, 80, passed away on Friday, April 4, 1997. Born December 19, 1916 in Ajo, Arizona. He retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad after 40 years of service. Mr. Vega was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Leon Vega; son, Anthony Frank Vega; and grandson, Manuel Robert Vega. He is survived by daughter, Mary Theresa Palacios; sons, Robert (Sandra) Vega, George (Glenda) Vega; daughter-in-law, Patricia Vega; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Carmen Lancaster and Alyce Montano; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 1997 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Most Holy Trinity, 1300 N. Greasewood, with Rosary recited at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. DeWEESE, Elizabeth E., Born April 18, 1927, died peacefully on April 4, 1997 at her home in Tucson. Survived by her husband of 50 years, Jack Alvah DeWeese, sons, Jack Andrew DeWeese, David Scott DeWeese (Marcy). Preceded in death by son Daniel Michael DeWeese in 1971. Also survived by sister Georgi Walton of Texas and nephews Robin and Chris Walton of Calif. Elizabeth attended high school in Evansville, Indiana and college at Indiana University in Bloomington. She loved living in Arizona and enjoyed walking, hiking and camping with her husband through the western United States and each of the provinces of Canada. Some of her favorite places were Alaska, British Columbia and Price Edward Island, Canada. At Elizabeth’s request she will be cremated and her cremains will be scattered in a place meaningful to her and her family. At her request no services will be held and in lieu of flowers a remembrance be sent to the Sportsman’s Fund, 'Send a Kid to Camp', Box 16141, Tucson, AZ. 85732 or to a charity of your choice.
