TINKER, Reland, 57, of Silver Creek, WA, a 20 year resident of Lewis County, died Sunday, July 13, 1997 after a short stay at Providence St. Peters Hospital in Olympia. Raland was born March, 22, 1940 in Pomona, California and graduated from Helix High School in La Mesa, California in 1958. Raland and Della White were married on December 17, 1959. He is survived by his mother Neoma Whitmer of Martinez Lake, Arizona; his parents, Neoda and Ed Williams of Memphis, Tennessee; his wife of 37 years, Dee, at the family home in Silver Creek; three daughters and sons-in-law, Tami and Gordon Brooks of Woodland, WA, Tina and Jeff Collette of Spokane, WA and Tish and Don Day of Silver Creek, WA; 10 grandchildren, Dallas, Rhandy, Jeramie and Alyssa Brooks and Zachary, Bethany, Trevor, Katie, Ben and Max Collette. His brothers, Howard Tinker of Wilcox, Arizona, Marvin Williams of Memphis, Tennessee, Butch Whitmer of La Mesa, California and Denny Whitmer of Santee, California and several nieces and nephews. Reland is also greatly missed by the 4-legged buddies, Gunther, Chloe and Jake. Reland was self-employed as a sales representative for Logging equipment manufacturers. He loved the outdoors and his happiest times were spent with friends and family hunting, fishing and camping. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all. A Memorial service will be held Friday, July 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Newell-Hoerling’s Chapel in Centralla, WA. Interment will be held at a later date in Arizona.

ALEGRIA, Andres M., 85, of Tumacacori, AZ, died July 15, 1997. Preceded in death by wife, Amelia and son, Frank. Survived by son, Andrew (Gloria) of Tucson; grandchildren, Andy (Liz), Linda, Veronica, Steve, Frank Jr. and Ricardo (Leticia) Alegria; five great-grandchildren. Mr. Alegria requested to be cremated. A Memorial Mass in his honor will be at St. Monica’s Church, 212 W. Medina, on Saturday, July 19 at 9:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather at the home of Andrew Alegria following the service.

ASHLEY, Marjorie Stetson Andrews, 79, of Greenfield, MA, died Monday, July 14, 1997. Survived by husband, Robert L.Ashley; sister, Barbara M. Andrews; daughters, Margo A. Sullivan, Carol A. Owens; grandchildren, Sarah Sullivan, John Sullivan, Tim Sullivan, Cliff Erickson Owens, Trish A. Owens, Cherokee S. Johnson, Colleen Ashley Cleary; great-grandchildren, Kristy Owens, Darren Olson, Cory Olson, Kyle Johnson and Austin Johnson. Services, 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 1997 at ARIZONA MORTUARY, 7 E. CAMOU, Beatriz Morales, born in Guaymas, Sonora on November 1 and died July 15, 1997. Raised and reared in Los Angeles, CA. She lived in Douglas, AZ all of her adult life except for the last eight years, when she moved to Tucson, AZ. She is survived by one sister, Amelia (Morales) Cannon; the following nephews and nieces, Jose Alfonso Morales Pavlovich, Ruben Morales Pavlovich, Robert Lee Cannon Morales, Alfonso Varela Morales, Ruben Varela Morales, Rene Morales King, Lourdes (Ramonet) Morales, Laila Jean Cannon, Irma (Hernandez) Cannon, Aglae (Yeager) Varela, Lorraine Morales and many grand-nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by beloved brothers and sister, Alfonso, Rene, Luis, Ruben and Aglae (Varela) Morales Camou and nephews, Rafael Varela Morales and Rene Morales Pavlovich. Services will be at Immaculate Conception Church in Douglas, AZ. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 1997. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 1997. CORRIGAN, Robert Leo, Sr., 76, of Tucson, died July 15, 1997. Survived by wife, Lillian of Tucson; children, Connie (Ron) Burr of OH, Brenda L. Jones of AZ, Robert L. Corrigan, Jr. of CO, Chris E. Corrigan and Jenifer Sutter, both of AZ; brother, Paul E. (Margie) Corrigan, Eileen (Harold) Harphant and Eleanor (Charles) Palmer, all of AZ; nine grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. Mr. Corrigan was retired from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local Union #408. Graveside Service, Friday, 9:00 a.m. Holy Hope Cemetery. FLANNAGAN, William Joseph, 53, passed away July 15, 1997. He was born August 19, 1943 in Tucson. Bill graduated from the University of Kansas, B.A., M.B.A. and in 1967 he began a long career with IBM. He successfully designed and implemented many systems and applications programs. He was awarded an outstanding technical achievement award for software development and was issued two patents for his work. His technical writings were featured in computer manuals and publications. He recently worked for Science Applications International Corporation. He was an avid University of Arizona basketball fan. Bill is survived by his wife, Elaine and son, Ryan of Tucson; parents, John and Virginia Flannagan of Scott City, KS; brother, John T.(Carole) Flannagan of Olathe, KS; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Colin. Bill will be genuinely missed by all who knew and worked with him. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway, Tucson, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the TMC Hospice, 5301 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

Josefina Briceno Guerena, age 87, passed from this life into eternity on July 15, 1997. She was born in Sonora, Mexico on February 15, 1910. She was a resident for over 50 years. A beloved mother and Nana and a wonderful friend. You gave all of us a special blessing. We will miss you dearly. Thank you for your love and for all the time we have had together. You will live in our hearts forever. She was survived by her three children: daughter, Lupe G.Vasquez; son, Arturo B. (Anita) Guerena; daughter, Isabel (Tony) Rovero, all of Tucson. She was also survived by 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives. There will be a visitation at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18. A Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 19 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church.

Donald McMillan, 25, of Tucson, died July 14, 1997. He will be missed by his beloved mother, Verna McMillan; two brothers, Robin Luke of Tucson and Brian Lazenby of Dillsboro, IN; aunts, Kathy Allred of Ruskin, FL, Dorothy Plemons and Donna Beckman of Liberty, IN and Joy Boone of Tucson; uncles, Dow Burch of St. Simons IS, GA., Danny Burch of Brunswick, GA, Alvin Burch of Brookville, IN and Lee Burch of Orange, Texas, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. MORENO, Fernando J., 48, of Tucson, passed away July 14, 1997. Survived by wife, Sharon D. Moreno; grandparents, Enrique and Maria C. Moreno; mother, Virginia C. Moreno; daughters, Veronica (Christo) Pattichis and Blanca 'Sugar' Moreno; sons, Fernando Armando, Gabriel, Francisco and Omar Fernando; sister, Maria Yolanda; eight grandchildren; godchild, Celina Bernal. Beloved husband, we love you big guy. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, 1997 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Tucson First Assembly of God, 1749 E. POLIVCHAK, Mildred M., 81, of Tucson, AZ, died July 12, 1997. Mildred went to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday. She is survived by her loving children, Diane Whaley (James), Joseph Polivchak, Nancy Polivchak, Mary Franklin (James) and Michael Polivchak (Gay); grandchildren, Patty and Mike Whaley, Cory, Casey and Katelyn Polivchak, Chris and Deanna Franklin; sister, Evelyn Stanivs. She is preceded in death by Joseph Polivchak and also many relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 17, 1997 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, at 9:00 a.m. at South Lawn Memorial Park, 5401 S. Park Ave. Remembrances may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice.

POWELL, Eve Elizabeth, born May 16, 1997, passed away July 11, 1997. Beloved daughter of Amoret Powell and Robin Johnson. Survived by parents; sisters, Lauren and Rhiannon; brother, Keith; grandmothers, Linda Morse and Jana Johnson; grandfather, Henry Kielarowski; aunt, Jackie Johnson; great-grandparents, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins in Tucson, Florida, California and Minnesota. SHARP, Mary Helen, age 81 years, of Tucson, died July 15, 1997 in Tucson. A native of Phoenix, she resided in Scottsdale from 1927 until 1949. Mrs. Sharp is survived by her husband, Mervin M. Sharp; daughters, Arlene Wise (Bob), Katherine Sharp, Evelyn Wilson (Ron); brother, George W. Frank; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. WARD, Tony F., 90, of Tucson, passed away July 15, 1997. Preceded in death by his wife, Hortense and children, Frank and Margaret. Survived by daughters, Eloise (Manny) Alvarez; son, William Ward; sisters, Julia Ward of CA, Emily Jinkens of OK; brothers, Clopton (Frances), John and Albert Ward of Willcox; grandchildren, Gloria Davy of Malaysia, Ernest and Frank Ward of Tucson. In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to the Carondelet Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 13170, 85732. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 1997 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at CARRILLO’S TUCSON MORTUARY (North Chapel), 204 South Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, July 18, 1997 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Church, 801 N. Claire C. Wiley, 82, passed away on July 13, 1997. Survived by wife, Marguerite; daughter, Marcia Wiley, Langley, WA; sons, Allen, Iowa City, IA, Dean (Marjorie), Brighton, MI, Keith (Beverly), East Moline, IL; five grandchildren; sister Nelda Button and brother, Webster (Doris), Kewanee, IL. Mr. Wiley owned Wiley Landscape Services in Illinois for more than 20 years and later was employed by the State of Illinois, retiring in 1978. He has resided in Arizona for 14 years. Services will be held on July 22 at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to American Heart Association.

Fred N. Belman, age 56, a prominent Tucson attorney and a Commissioner on the Arizona Game and Fish Commission, died on July 13, 1997, after a short illness. An avid hunter and fisherman, he earned a reputation as a strong champion for the wildlife and natural resources of the State as well as the hunting and fishing public and Game and Fish Department personnel. Fred graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. degree in 1963 and graduated from the University of Arizona Law School in 1966 being admitted to practice in the same year. Fred was a City Prosecutor, Criminal Division in Tucson during 1966-67 and a Prosecutor in the County Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division during 1967-69. He began private practice in Tucson in 1969 where he practiced law up to the time of his death. Fred served as a Special Deputy County Attorney in Juvenile Court, Tucson, from 1970 through 1975. In 1978 he was appointed as a Special Arizona Assistant Attorney General. During 1978 he was appointed by then Governor Babbitt to serve on the Arizona Outdoor Recreation Coordinating Commission. Governor Mecham appointed Fred as a Special Assistant on Wildlife Affairs in 1987. During 1992-93 Fred served as a Judge Pro-Tem in Tucson City Court, Pima County Justice Court and Pima County Superior Court. He was reappointed as a Judge Pro-Tem to serve in Pima County Justice Court in 1994 and reappointed as a Judge Pro-Tem to serve in the Superior Court of Pima County in 1996. Fred’s memberships included: Ducks Unlimited, Quail Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation, National Desert Bighorn Sheep Society, Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Tau Delta Phi Fraternity. The legal memberships that Fred belonged too encompassed the State Bar of Arizona where he was a member in good standing from 1966 until the time of his death; he was admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court in 1971; and he was admitted to practice in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in 1972. Along with Fred’s involvement with numerous legal, community and State organizations he had the honor of a distinguished appointment to serve as a member of the Legal Affairs Committee for the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.) in August of 1994, which he wholeheartedly supported. Fred considered his distinguished appointment by Governor Symington as a Commissioner on the Arizona Game and Fish Commission to serve a lifetime goal. He served with unwavering energy, passion, dedication and commitment and would fight with fierceness for causes he believed in. Fred is survived by his wife, Tracy Belman; Gail Tully, his mother-in-law of Tucson; James Tully a brother-in-law of Tucson; an aunt and uncle, Florence and Phil Sutton of Malibu, CA. Fred is also survived by his many, many friends who Fred considered to be a part of his family. He was a very special person who saw the good in everyone and wished the best to all. We are all enriched by knowing and having him as a friend. Fred would go to any extreme to help a friend and if he could he would move mountains for those that needed him. His determination, will, power and intellect were what made him rise above others and at the same time he never forgot anyone. Fred will always be with us, in our heart and in our minds. He taught us the true meaning of the word 'friend'. Arrangements are being handled by EVERGREEN CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile., Tucson. The Memorial Service will be Thursday, July 17, 1997 at 3:00 p.m., with everyone being invited to Fred and Tracy’s home immediately following the Service. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made in Fred Belman’s name to the Arizona Game Rangers Association, 6951 W. Shaw Butte Drive, Peoria, AZ 85345.

KOWALSKI, Henrietta 'Pat', 87, of Tucson, died July 14, 1997. Mother of Barbara J. Gross of Tucson, Alfred A. St. Arnold of Arlington, TX and Irving X. St. Arnold of Norfolk, NE; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister of Statia Deroy of Yalesville, CT. Scripture Service Wednesday, July 16, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 5:00 p.m. until Service time at ABBEY FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3435 N. 1st Ave., (888-1111). Further Services will be in Yalesville, CT.

KRUCKMEYER, Adrienne Grace (Demski), 70, passed on July 12, 1997 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. She is survived by her four sons, Korey, Kirby (Pat), Kerry and Damian (aka Kevin); as well as six grandchildren, Uschi, Anja, Nadia, Nicole, Raisha and Austin; niece, Anne; grandnephew, Brandon; and sister-in-law, Irma. As per her wishes there will be no traditional funeral services. Instead there will be a celebration of her life at Kerry’s house, 5552 E. Water St., on Friday, July 18 at 6:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. a few words will be spoken in her behalf. Party, food and drinks provided. Dress casual. All who knew her are welcome, but come happy and enjoy yourself.

LOPEZ, Frank B. 'Domingo', Sr., age 75, of Tucson, died July 13, 1997 in Tucson. Mr. Lopez was born in Ft. Yuma, AZ. He had been a landscaper. Mr. Lopez is survived by his sons, Frank Jr. of Denver, CO and Raymond of South Bend, IN; daughters, Terry Arevalos of Casa Grande, Brenda Armenta of Toltec, Connie Lopez and Florence Celeya, both of Tucson; three sisters, one brother, 29 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation Thursday, July 17, 1997, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway). Graveside Services to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
