WILLIAMSON, MARIAN LYNCH, age 85, loved by all her family and friends died peacefully on December 26, 1997 at her daughter Mary’s home in San Antonio, TX. She was born January 21, 1912 in Yonkers, NY to William and Francis Lynch. Mrs. Williamson graduated from New Paltz Normal School in 1933, then married George M. Williamson in 1941. In 1966 the family moved to Douglas, AZ and then in 1972 to Tucson. Marian was very active with the Volunteers of St. Josephs Hospital from 1981 to 1996, and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She will be missed by all her friends there. Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her husband; her son, George; and her grandson, Robert. Mrs. Williamson is survived by her daughters, Karen Williamson Howorth of Anchor Point, Alaska and Mary Williamson Osborn of San Antonio, TX, who were both with her to ease her passing; her grandchildren, Michael Leaner, Derrek Day, Catherine Moore, Margaret and Christopher Osborn. She will also be missed by her step-daughters, Rosemary Williamson Colgate and Yvonne Williamson Foster. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband.

DEBOER, James Allen, 56, died December 29, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Joan DeBoer; sons, Dale DeBoer, Darrin DeBoer, James A. Visser, Dwayne D. Ivey and Victoria V. Cimmino; daughter, Susie M. Jaurez; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd.

EGLESTON, Linda Ann, passed away December 20, 1997. She was born in Norfolk, VA in 1941 and moved to Arizona in 1960. Her legacy as a southwestern artist includes multiple art projects of canvas and gourd painting, quilting and crafts, specializing in Indian designs. Linda was the only child of Virginia Broom and Victor Starke. She is survived by her children, Gary and Cyntheia Russ; stepchildren, Dave, Clinton and Rick Egleston, Kathy Egleston Sellin and Kimberly Egleston May and many grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Patagonia Community Church on Saturday, January 10, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carondelet Hospice Services, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson.

GRIFFITH, Ruthodel B., died December 31, 1997. Survived by her husband, Charles A. Griffith; daughter, Susan (Steve) Thomas and son, Chuck (Jamie) Griffith; grandchildren, Terra, Charlie and Austin Griffith; Steven and Courtney Thomas; brother, Lon Skinner Bond. Through the Foreign Student Program at the University of Arizona she has been mother for many years to Sanjiv Rastogi (Rajani) and family. Friends may call 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 1998 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., where Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 5, 1998. Rev. Russ Marshall officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

HAZARD, Clifford Scott, age 87, a former resident of Tucson, passed away December 30, 1997 in Helena, Montana. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 1998 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson Lodge #4 F and A.M. officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

HESH, HELEN HENRIETTA, 90, resident of Tucson for 40 years, passed away on December 31, 1997. Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, ”S.K.” Survived by daughters, Rosemary (Michael) Brechko of Windsor, NY; Suzanne Hesh of Tucson; grandchildren, Dennis (Kristen) Brechko of Orion, MI, Christine (Bill) Bracken of Vestal, NY, Daniel (Tania) Brechko of Greenville, SC, Andrew, Jason and Aaron Brechko of Windsor, NY; great-grandchildren, Shannon, Caroline and Thomas Bracken of Vestal, NY. Helen will be remembered for her bright smile for all, her feisty spirit and her love of family and God’s creation. Deepest gratitude to Dr. Jeffrey Selwyn, the doctors and staff of Internal Medicine Associates and the dedicated people at St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Ruth Mae Iaccino, 69, passed away December 28, 1997. She was born May 3, 1928 in Phoenix, AZ. Wife of Joseph P.; mother of Joe (Vicki) and Frances Lee Iaccino of Tucson; sister, Mary Elizabeth Blassingame, Dorothy Bookman; brother, William G. Downey of Tucson; sister, Kathryn (Edward) Dickey; brother, Vernon (Roberta) Downey of MO. Friends may call at EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, on January 5 from 10:30 to Noon followed by Mass at 12:30 at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Charity of your Choice In Memory of Ruth.

MCMULLEN, Crystal L., 81, of Tucson, died December 30, 1997. She was preceded in death by grandson, Donny McAllister. Survivors include loving husband of 61 years, Richard; three children, Richard Jr. (Billie Lee) of San Diego, Robert (Carole), Delia (Curnow); two grandchildren, Matthew David of San Diego and Stacey Jeanne; two great-grandchildren, Kristen and Jessica of San Diego; sister-in-law, Shirley Marinus; nephew, Charles McMullen. Crystal will be greatly missed by all her loving family and friends. Friends may call Monday, January 5, 1998 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service will be at ADAIR DODGE, Monday, January 5, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. with West Grimes officiating. POWERS, Phyllis Price, age 89, died a peaceful and happy death at her home on December 31, 1997. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Hinkle of Tucson, and Winifred Smidt of Ojai, CA; one son, Jim Powers of Dienna, VA. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Powers in 1996. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 1998, at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 1800 Kolb Rd. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME DODGE CHAPEL, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. .

REDMAN, Patricia Grace (Fitts), died December 31, 1997, in Tucson, AZ after a long struggle with recurrent breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Chet Redman and her infant daughter. She is survived by her close friend and companion, Howard Gorball; sons, Cary and Vince Redman; daughter-in-law, Gloria Hurtado Redman; grandchildren, Ashley and Alyssa Redman. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan Lawrence and Linda Mason; brothers, Jack Fitts, Jerry and Danny Buchanan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia Redman was born February 20, 1933, in Emporia, Kansas and lived most of her adult life in the Southwest. She was employed by the U.S. Forest Service for over 33 years, retiring in 1993. A Memorial Service will be held on January 9, 1998 at 12:00 at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 1501 10th Street, Douglas, AZ 85607. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Carondelet Hospice Services, c/o Carondelet Foundation, 350 N. Wilmot Rd., Tucson, AZ 85711, where a Memorial has been established in Pat’s name.

WALKER, Jessie Lee, 77, died December 30, 1997. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 5, 1998 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Visitation will be from 12:00 until Service time. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

ANSELL, Richard J., 50, of Tucson, died December 30, 1997. Survivors include his mother, Harriet Ansell of Bradford, PA; brothers, Fred (Trena) of Topeka, KS, Kenneth (Bonnie) of Dallas, TX and Charles (Sarah Beth) of Tucson, plus many other loving friends and relatives. Friends may call at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd, Friday, January 2, 1998, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, Saturday, January 3, at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at All Faiths Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Richard’s name to the Arizona Lung Association.

BRINKER, M. Thelma, 85, died December 31, 1997. Survived by her daughter, Marianne Martin Sieben and her husband, Owen Sieben; two brothers, Bob and Bill Haendgies; son-in-law, Don Ebner; grandchildren, David J. Baird, Brenda Peppas, Michele Doerksen, Lisa Booker, Eugene Ebner, Stacy Aguirre, Garth and Lance Sieben; five great-grandchildren, Michael and Mathew Baird, Kimberly Peppas, Guy and Stacy Doerksen; and five great-great-grandchildren. Family Funeral Services were held at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Pastor Harry Rohwer officiating.

CARET, Gary Lee (September 26, 1944-December 27, 1997) loved life and left it too soon, before he had fully explored his many interests in music, computers, cooking, birdwatching, photography, writing, literature and film. For 15 years he was a popular performer in the annual Tucson Press Club Gridiron Show and wrote many skits and songs for the show over the years. Those who saw him perform will always remember his bright smile, rich voice and infectious laugh. During the last year of his life, he showed true nobility and courage in his battle with cancer and when the battle was lost, he accepted defeat with grace. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Brubaker of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA and his longtime companion, Carol Nowotny-Young of Tucson, who will greatly miss him. Please join in a celebration of Gary’s life on Saturday, January 3, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. in Goddard Hall at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4831 E. 22nd St, Tucson. Those who wish to may bring a favorite story about Gary to share. Gary loved to laugh and would want us to celebrate his life with laughter. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society, the Community Food Bank, the American Cancer Society, or St. Joseph’s Hospice. Many thanks to the kind and compassionate people at St. Joseph’s Hospice who made Gary’s last few days comfortable.

CLOUGH, Doris Evelyn, 69, of Tucson, died Wednesday, December 31, 1997. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Clough, Sr., in 1973. She is survived by her children, Guy Clough, Victor Clough, Jr., Susie Bower, Forrest Clough; brother, Delbert Millard; 16 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Clough taught for over 15 years at First Southern Christian School and was a member and one of the Sunday School Directors at First Southern Baptist Church. A visitation will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 1998. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 1998 at First Southern Baptist Church, 445 E. Speedway Blvd., with Rev. Bill Paar officiating. Graveside Services and Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Effingham, Kansas. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church Building Fund, 445 E. Speedway, Tucson, 85705.

GEROVAC, Marc S. 85, of Tucson, died December 30, 1997. Survived by sons, Gary of Tucson, Jerry of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Ginger Sawyer of Tucson; two sisters; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Family requests Memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Services conducted by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N. Tucson Blvd. (327-6341).

GOMEZ, Victor Edwin, 43, of Tucson, died December 27, 1997. He was preceded in death by father Victor C. Survived by mother, Edwina; one child, Courtney; one brother, Keith (Autumn); one niece, Kassy; two nephews, K.C. Jr. and Kai Dane and several cousins. Victor graduated from Pueblo High School in 1972. Victor will be missed by his family and friends. Funeral Service will be at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Margaret Sheldon, 89, passed away December 29, 1997 in Tucson. She was born on March 10, 1908 in Fairfield, NB. Survived by one daughter, Shirley Ann Sheldon. A 37 year resident of Tucson, she and her husband, Rev. Keenan Sheldon, ministered to Rincon Congregational Church for 22 years, and she served on the Board of Directors for the Beacon Foundation for 25 plus years. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be on Sunday, February 1, 1998, 2:00 p.m. at Rincon Congregational Church, 122 N. Craycroft. Donations may be made to Emmaus Homes: Sheldon Memorial, PO Box 220, St. Charles, MO 63302-0220, for improvements of bath facilities at Garvin Cottage. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. US Army Rangers, WW II, Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart. Retired Executive Vice President and General Manger, May Broadcasting Co. Preceded in death by wife, Lois T. Williams. Survived by sister, Virginia Offley, Springfield, Oregon; son, John Williams, Las Cruces, NM; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kay Williams, Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Erin Williams, Colleen Williams and Mickey Williams, Omaha, NE and devoted and loving friend, Nancy Blanton, Green Valley, AZ. Memorial Service, Saturday, January 3, 1998, 10:00 a.m. Desert Hills Lutheran Church, 2150 S. Camino Del Sol, Green Valley, AZ. Cremains will be interred in the Locust, Iowa Cemetery.
