Charles H. Haase, Col. (USAF Ret.), 90, of Tucson, passed away January 27, 1998. Born in Richmond, VA, February 19, 1907. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jane; sons, Charles H. 'Chic' Jr. (Sara) and Allen Haase both of Tucson; daughter, Mary Jane (Grady) Bowers of AL. Graduated Virginia Military Institute (Engineering) Class of 1930. Spent next 30 years active military highlighted by his service in The Korean Conflict, where he received numerous decorations, including The Legion of Merit. The next ten years, following his military retirement as a regular commissioned officer in 1960, was spent in the Aerospace industry. His last assignment being Mission Management Support Supervisor for the Apollo 11's successful achievement of 'Mans first landing on the moon, ' July 20, 1969, and his receiving the Apollo Achievement Award from NASA at The Kennedy Space Center. From 1970 to 1997 he was a Real Estate Associate with A.P. Brown & Co.. Member of The Retired Officers Association, DMAFB-Officers Club, and Elks Club #385. Memorial Services to be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to your favorite charity.

HALL, Kevin, 38, died Tuesday, January 27, 1998 following a valiant battle against a devastating illness. Known throughout the Southwest as Kevin the Braider, he was a recognized expert in his field, and enhanced the beauty of hundreds of the hunter jumper horses he loved. He was a superb and talented animal trainer who gained the respect of many for his abilities.
Born in Portsmouth, VA on April 6, 1959, he spent his childhood in California and Florida. In his early years, he was a champion swimmer, competing throughout Northern California. He developed a love of horses and began competing at the Trail and Saddle Club in Carmel Valley, CA, where he learned to braid. He won many trophies as he competed throughout California, Arizona and New Mexico. His highly developed sense of humor endeared him to all.
Kevin is survived by his father, Arthur Lee Hall, Sr, Yoshiko Hall; aunt, Bonnie Glenn Carroll; sisters, Michelle Hall, Cheryl Harris; and brothers, Art Hall, Gary Hall and Greg Hall; nieces, Alison Hinson, Rebecca, Miriam and Alissa Harris and Laura and Cara Hall; and nephews, Travis Hinson, Josh Harris, and Nicholas and Jesse Hall. He is also survived by numerous friends who were extremely devoted to him and showed their love for him in many, many ways.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations in Kevin's memory be sent to TIHAN or SAAF. Private Services conducted by VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2545 N.Tucson Blvd (327-6341).

James V. Jackson, 65, passed away in his sleep with brain cancer on January 23, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jeanne Jackson; daughters, Dawn, Lorena Jackson and Tammy; grandchildren, Joshua, Kim, and Bethney, Christopher and Michael, Jessica, James, Angelica and Sean; son-in-law, John. He worked for AMARC, Tucson Police Assist Group, Grandparents United for Children's Rights, Learjet, numerous security companies, Van Guard, Western Aviation. He spent 17 years in the Air Force and three years in the Army. He will be very sadly missed. Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 31, 1998 at 3:00 at Base Chapel Two, 5385 E. Ironwood, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

PEAK, Wyett E., was given to us by the Lord, October 6, 1958. We were permitted to keep him only for a short time. On January 28, 1998 he was taken from his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Tara; son, Pat; his parents, Buddy and Nona Peak; brother, Jesse (Shawn) Peak; his sister, Dianna (Mike) Yeoman; his grandmother, Mildred (Honey); grandfather, Woody Woodsworth; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Preceded in death by his grandfather, Alvin Harris; grandparents, Roy and Louise Peak; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandson and friend has left us to be united with Jesus Christ his Savior. He always extended his time freely to those in need. He was very active with his son, Pat in Little League; horses with his daughter, Tara, and many other activities with his wife, Carolyn and family. His craftsmanship as a member of Ironworkers Local #75, was of superior stature. He was very creative and talented in every way. Wyett had a purpose and gave his all in everything he did. He always said 'Make it happen, ' and he practiced what he preached. Whether it be his offer of safety, intimacy, love or life, he represented it only as he knew it. Our loss extends beyond, what could be said, to be a Peak is to be Wyett always and forever, never forgotten. Thank you Bro! Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 1998 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 445 E. Speedway. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Hart and Pastor J.C. Joiner. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Contributions may be made to the Wyett Peak Memorial Fund c/o Norwest Bank, any branch.

PERRY, Mr. Everett, 85, died on January 30, 1998 at Tucson Medical Center. Mr.Perry served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired as a 1st Lieutenant on disability from injuries he received in combat. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Margaret, who died in 1977. Mr. Perry will be buried with his wife in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway).

SHELDON, Margaret, 89, passed away December 29, 1997 in Tucson. She was born on March 10, 1908 in Fairfield, NB. Survived by one daughter, Shirley Ann Sheldon. A 37 year resident of Tucson, she and her husband, Rev. Keenan Sheldon, ministered to Rincon Congregational Church for 22 years, and she served on the Board of Directors for the Beacon Foundation for 25 plus years. A celebration of Margaret's life will be on Sunday, February 1, 1998, 2:00 p.m. at Rincon Congregational Church, 122 N. Craycroft. Donations may be made to Emmaus Homes: Sheldon Memorial, PO Box 220, St. Charles, MO 63302-0220, for improvements of bath facilities at Garvin Cottage. Arrangements by WOLFREY PEACE CHAPEL, 5225 E. Speedway.

URBAN, Doleen A. Heimbuch Johnson (Dolly), 83, of Tucson, Died January 27, 1998. She is survived by sons, Michael Heimbuch of Tucson and Norman Heimbuch (Betsy) of Jamestown, NY; three grandchildren, Cynthia Smith, Gregory Heimbuch and Dennis Heimbuch. Mrs. Urban retired from the Sahuarita School District in 1976 where she was coordinator of special education. She received a bachelors degree from Kent State in 1963 and a masters degree from University of Arizona in special education in 1965. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, International Honorary for Leadership for Human Growth and Development, and Kappa Delta PI Nat'l Education Honorary and Counsel for Exceptional Children. A Celebration of her life will held on Sunday, February 1, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at 1598 N. Rancho Pueblo Court. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Literacy Volunteers of Pima County, 125 W. Yavapai Road, Tucson, AZ 85705. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

ARNOLD, Robert M. 'Bob', 39, of Tucson, received his complete healing from muscular dystrophy and went to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 28, 1998. Survived by his loving wife, Yvette; mother, Elizabeth; brother, Bill (Yvonne). Also survived by nephew and nieces; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Linda Verrier: and brother-in-law Jimmy.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm, January 31 at East Tucson Baptist Church, 9100 E. Speedway Blvd, Rev. Anthony Laird officiating. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorials be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), 3300 E. Sunrise Dr., Tucson, AZ 85718. All friends are invited to attend memorial service and to share memories of Bob. Fellowship and food to follow service.

BROOKMAN, Josephine Holt, 78, of Tucson died January 25, 1998. She is survived by her son, James R. Holt; daughter, Diane F. Villegas both of Tucson; grandchildren, Tracy Villegas, Christopher and Ryan Holt; sisters, Alva Stiefel of Fullerton, CA, Wilma Anderson of Houston, MO and Norma Simmons of Concha, AZ; great aunt, Adele Cheatham of Laveen, AZ. . Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

BYRON, Beverly Dale, 63, born June 14, 1934 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. She went to heaven January 23, 1998. Mother of Daniel E. Byron of Phoenix, AZ and William W.Byron of Tucson; mother-in-law of Rosemary Byron of Tucson; sister of William Ranta of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; grandmother of Daniel B. Byron and Brandon McAtee. She will be missed by all her friends here and back east in North Creek, NY. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. COLLIE, Carolyn Louise, 52, died January 27, 1998. Wife of Sidney Collie of Tucson; mother of Randall (Christy) Collie, Cheryl (John) Cusick and Mark (Kim) Collie all of Tucson. Sister of Terry Brunton of Midland, TX; grandmother of Miles, Celina and Courtney. She was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Graveside Service 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 2, 1998 at TMP East Lawn with Pastor's Steven Hilton and Ralph Hilton officiating. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

LARTER, Kenneth Farrell, 57, of Tucson, died Monday, January 26, 1998. Kenneth was a surveyor in copper mining. He issurvived by wife, Rosa Lea; sons, Michael (Theresa) and Jason (Cathy); grandchildren, Eric, Katie, Allison, Lindsey, Jarrod, Vanessa and Kevin. He brought great joy to family and friends and will be greatly missed by all. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. MACKENZIE, Neil Emerson, Ph.D., professor at University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, passed away peacefully at home on January 29, 1998. Amongst bereaving family, beloved husband of Lori; beloved father of Sarah and Stuart; beloved 2nd son of Ralph and Muriel. MORENO, Lupe M., 84, passed away in San Diego, CA January 10, 1998. She was born November 8, 1913 in Tres Aces, AZ. Survived by daughters, Theresa G. (Gene) Barras of San Diego, CA and Mary Alice G. (Cornelio) Torres of Tucson, AZ; son, Joe M. (June) Galaz of NE; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces also survive. Cremation was held in CA.

POTEET, Wade Hampton, 33, went to be with The Lord on January 28, 1998. Born in Charleston, WV, in 1964, he was graduated from Pima College, and was involved with hotel management in Tucson since 1985. He is survived by his brothers, Lee and Stuart; and parents, Wade and Sharon. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Community Church, 7801 E. Kenyon Drive at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 1998. The family wishes to thank the wonderful and supportive staff at Carondelet St. Mary's Hospice for their compassion and loving care. Donations can be made in Wade's name to Casa Gloriosa, 1645 West Valencia, Box 153, Tucson, AZ 85746 and Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF), 151 S. Tucson Boulevard, Tucson, AZ 85716.

SCHINKEL, Frank E., 72, died January 28, 1998. Survived by wife, Jane; sister, Marcella (George) Maselli; brothers, Robert (Goldie) and Melvin (Frances) and was pre-deceased by his little pal 'Jason'. He was born in Freemont, NE and his family moved to La Jolla, CA in 1940. He graduated from LaJolla High School where he was a top cheer leader in 1943 and then joined the Navy and spent most of the war on PT boats in the South Pacific. After the war he attended the University of Arizona where he was affiliated with Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He went to work for Firemans' Fund Insurance Companies and eventually opened his own General Insurance Agency. After selling the agency to Robert Mueller & Associates, he and Jane moved to Durango, CO in 1991 and have been wintering in Tubac this year. Frank was an ardent golfer and he loved to hunt pheasant in his native Nebraska and he will be greatly missed by his wife and family and a host of business associates and friends throughout Arizona and Colorado. Mrs. Schinkel invites friends to pay respects at her home in Tubac after 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 1998. Burial will be in Stanton, NE. Donations may be made to Carondelet Hospice Services of Green Valley, 1055 N. La Canada Suite 101, Green Valley, AZ 85614.

SHEEHAN, Natasha Poulovich, born November 21, 1936, in San Pedro, CA, passes away unexpectedly, Tuesday, January 27, 1998. She attended San Pedro High School, then later Long Beach Community College and relocated with her parents to Tucson, AZ, when they retired in 1962. She was a 30-year member of both the Eastern Star and the Ladies Oriental Shrine. She is survived by her four children, John Michael, J. Christopher, James Patrick; and daughter, Michelle Rema. She is also survived by her former husband, and good friend of almost 20 years, Dr. Michael J. Sheehan. Our mother had many lifelong friends that she cherished in Tucson. She was our confidant, our problem solver, and secret pal. In short, what she was best at was being our Mom. She will be loved and missed always. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N.Dodge (at Speedway), Friday, January 30, 1998 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, on Monday, February 2, 1998 at 10:00 a.m., with Father James Coleman officiating. Anderson of Tucson; mother of Barbara (John) Maakestad of Mesa, AZ, JoAnne (Jeff) Givens of Lake Hughes, CA, and Penny Specktor of Tucson; sister of Lloyd Mansager of Coon Rapids, MN and Lenore Carlson of Van Nuys, CA; grandmother of Steve and Richard Givens of Los Angeles, CA, Robert and James Maakestad of Mesa, AZ, Gary Maakestad of Bremerton, WA and Brandon Specktor of Tucson; great-grandmother of, Katelyn, Collin and Kara Maakestad and Cole Givens. She was a member of Spanish Trail Lutheran Church. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 1998 at Spanish Trail Lutheran Church, 8701 E. Old Spanish Trail, with Rev. Hal Hoekstra officiating.
