MCMAHON, William J., 69, died at home on Sunday, July 5th, 1998 after courageously battling cancer for four years. Bill is survived by Katy, his wife of 44 years; seven children, Sheila (John) Norris and their daughters, Sarah and Carla, Mark McMahon, Mike (Aileen) McMahon, Susan McMahon, Patty (Kevin Teed) McMahon, Tim McMahon of San Francisco and Dan (Karla) McMahon; sister, Patricia Wilson and 48 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by daughter, Kathleen. Bill had retired from his dental practice and enjoyed bicycling, hiking, racquetball and fishing in Mexico. He had volunteered as a dentist at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Clinic for 36years. Known to many of his friends as 'El Supremo', he was a member of the Saguaro Optimist Club and Southern Arizona Hiking Club. Friends may call at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway) on Friday July 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11 at St. Cyril Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima (at Swan). Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Cyril Educational Foundation or TMC Hospice.

MORALES, Hortencia E., 81, of Tucson, died July 5, 1998. She was an engineer at Rockwell International, where she worked for 33 years. Survived by daughter, Marie Kunsman of Tucson; sons, Marcus Morales of Orange, CA, Roland Morales of Redlands, CA; brothers, Dickey Escamilla and Manuel Escamilla; sisters, Lala Escamilla, Lupe Villareal; three stepsisters; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Services and interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Cypress, CA. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Odilia Catholic Church, 7570 N. Gilbert F. Orantez, 39, passed away July 4, 1998. Beloved son of Jose Q. and Estela Orantez; grandson of Paula Q. Orantez; father of Christina, Gilbert and Gloria; grandfather of Esperanza; brother of Evelina, Joe, Luis, Alex, Carlos; fiance, Sylvia Cordova. Visitation Thursday, July 9, 1998 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass on Friday, July 10, 1998 at 9:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Parish. PENN, Harry, 89, resident of Tucson since 1941, died July 7, 1998. Harry served as a volunteer Sexton for the past 25 years at Congregation Anshei Israel. He was a retired pharmacist, having owned Casas Adobes Drug. Preceded in death by wife, Geri Penn. Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather of daughter, Adrienne (Vince) Dastole; grandchildren, Mike (Becky) Dastole and Toby (Craig) Blackwell; great-grandchildren, Kelsi Jordan and Abby Rose Dastole and Jake Thomas Blackwell. Funeral Services Thursday, 10:30 a.m. Evergreen Mortuary, with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky of Congregation Anshei Israel officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Mary Clokey Moore Ross, 84, of Tucson, a direct descendant of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, passed away on the 4th of July, 1998. She is survived by her three sons, Edwin R. Moore (Madeline) and Michael C. Moore of Tucson, AZ and Bill Moore of Sacramento, CA; grandchildren, Lori Moore, Edwin Moore IV (Diane), Clem Moore (Sallie), Annalisa Moore, Cyrus Moore, Russ Moore, Angela Moore and Matthew Moore; and great-grandchildren, Quentin and Courtney Moore. Mary was born and raised in Illinois, where she lived until she moved to Tucson in 1956. She was a member of the Junior League of Chicago and then Tucson, the Palos Verdes Garden Club and was a lifelong member of Planned Parenthood. Mary was very special and lived a full and happy life. She enjoyed her family and friends, and was generous, caring and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She left this world a much better place and she will be truly missed and remembered by those who knew and loved her. Memorial Services will be on Saturday, July 11, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at the Colonia Verde Clubhouse, 2700 N. Camino Valle Verde. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd.

RUDDER, Eric Richard, 35, died July4, 1998. Survived by his mother, Linda and father, Charles of Ohio; his wife, Rebecca A. Rudder of Sahuarita. He was loved by many family and friends and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held Friday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Valley Mortuary &Memorial Gardens, 2200 N. TATE, Louise, age 78, was born February5, 1920 to the proud parents of Willis and Mimia Traylor in Mt. Pleasant, TX, she died July 4, 1998. Mrs. Tate was a member of the Prince Chapel A.M.E. Church, and was retired from Tucson Medical Center. Louise leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Melvin; stepdaughter, Archie Jo Dixon of Concord, CA; grandsons, James of Provo, UT and Melvin Dixon, Sr. of Martinez, CA; great-granddaughter, Deanna; great-grandsons, Melvin Jr. and Vance Dixon, and many other relatives and friends. WORMSER, Judy, age 90, went home to be with our Lord Jesus, June 30, 1998 after a sudden illness. Born in Cheshire, England January 14, 1908, lived in Tubac, AZ for 30 years and was the loving mother of a son, Richard Johnson, also of Tubac; half-brother, Alden Aldrich of Milford, N.J.; two daughters, Janice Applegate of Jackson, N.J. and Jean Strout of Brick Town, N.J. A known potter, she also wrote articles and short stories. She was a woman of extreme energy and worked up to the end and was loved by everyone she touched. She will be missed by all and will be remembered for how she would help anyone who needed it, cheerfully. Service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tubac Baptist Church, Tubac Fire Department or charity of your choice. Thank you, mother, for all you did for us and you'll always be remembered. Your loving children.

Kathryn E. Young, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on June 21, 1998 at the age of 91. She was born in Forest, Indiana to Robert Lloyd and Martha Knight Young. Lived in Tennessee and Georgia, Ohio and Michigan and Warrensburg, Missouri where she completed her B.A. Degree at Central Missouri State Teachers College majoring in Women's P.E., a Master's Degree from the University of Iowa and worked towards a Doctorate. Taught in North Kansas City, Missouri for three years, then moving to Tucson in 1931 and taught girls physical education for Tucson Public Schools until her retirement in 1968. She is survived by her brother, Robert L. Young, Jr. of Tucson; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Alice M. Young of Denver; nieces, Kay Young Hutchinson, Barbara Lutz, Nancy Young Puckett; and nephew Eric Young as well as several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Miss Young was a longtime member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an educational organization, receiving International recognition and awards. She also received awards for her outstanding teaching career and was inducted into the Pima County Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. She was a member of Chapter BN, P.E.O. and a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church for many years and last two years a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Memorial Services will be held Monday, July 13, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 8051 East Broadway Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or charity of your choice. BRUZINA, Joseph, 72, passed away July 7, 1998. Born in Cleveland, OH, Mr. Bruzina came to Tucson in 1966. He was the beloved husband of Shirley, his wife of almost 39 years. Joseph's children were the center of his life and he loved, always, Michelle (deceased), Lizabeth Gale and Thomas and dear to him were his son-in-law, Dan Gale and his daughter-in-law, Lori Cirni Bruzina. His great joy were his grandchildren, Christopher, Andersen and Connor Gale. Mr. Bruzina served in the Navy as a Pharmacist Mate during WWII and was a member of the American Legion, Morgan McDermott Post 7. He retired after 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 1998, at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, with Dr. Wayne North officiating. Burial in TMP South Lawn. CHRISTOFFERSON-BECK, Michael, of Tucson, passed away July 5, 1998. Survived by grandparents, Kent, Sage Christofferson, and Carol Ann Beck; parents, Michael Beck and Christine Christofferson. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 1998 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC. (CENTER CHAPEL), 240 S. CORDIER, Alberta Fern, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998 in Phoenix, AZ. A native of Fairfield County, OH, she moved to Arizona in 1943. Mrs. Cordier was a retired Tanque Verde School secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester Cordier. Survivors include her sons, Charles I. (Thelma J.) of Pinetop, AZ, Larry N. (Mary Ellen) of Scottsdale, AZ, Frank E. (Pamela J.) Cordier of Chesterton, IN; her brother, Ernest E. Kiger of Lancaster, OH; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services Saturday, July 11, 1998, 11:00 a.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway). Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Sheila M. Evans, 56, passed away July 5, 1998 in Tucson. Sheila was born January 21, 1942 in Plainfield, NJ. She attended the college of New Rochelle, Catholic University of America and the University of Arizona. For the past 18 years she worked as a school psychologist in the Tucson Unified School District after moving to Tucson in 1972. She will be missed by her husband, Eugene, 'her two boys', Brad and Colby; and her mother, Vera Monaghan. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald 'Tex' Monaghan. In honor of her love of animals her family suggests donations to the Tucson Humane Society or Hermitage Cat Shelter. Donations can also be made to Youth On Their Own. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, July 11, at 10:00 a.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

HAWKINS, Albert, 66, of Tucson, died July 1, 1998. Survived by daughters, Beverly Glaspie and Diane Payne of Tucson; brothers, Preston and David; sister, Mary Mallard; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. KOHOUT, J. Keith, 38, died July 8, 1998, after a two-year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde H. Kohout. Keith is survived by his mother, Ruth Ann (Dr. Philip) Dew; brothers, Clark (Vicki) and Robert (K. C. Morris); sister, Cheryl (Terri Nangeroni); aunt, Kathy (Michael) Fletcher; nieces, Colleen and Alexandra; nephews, Paul and Gregory; great-nephew, Weston; and many cousins and dear friends. Visitation will be held Friday, July 10, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd., where Funeral Services will take place Saturday, July 11 at 12:00 noon. LEE, Brian Michael, born February 9, 1959, passed away on July 7, 1998, after a brief but critical illness. Brian was predeceased by his grandparents, Hermila and Bernard Aros of Tucson. Brian is survived by his mother, Norma E. Lee; and his father, Dean Lee (Molly) from Seattle, WA; his half-brother and sister, Dean and Renee also of Seattle. Brian was loved by everyone for his warm, unselfish, loving, caring and generous ways. He was a devoted and loving son beyond any parent's expectations. Brian was always there for anyone who needed him and worked hard at any task he undertook.
Brian was very sensitive and wrote many beautiful song lyrics and poems. He loved playing the guitar and singing. He was an absolute angel. He loved everyone and everything about life and was so good and giving to everyone that came in contact with him. Dear Brian will be missed by everyone more than words can possibly express.
Brian was a very hard-working young man and was employed at Tucson Wholesale Florist and loved and appreciated the beauty of all plants and flowers in his surroundings. He is also survived by his uncles, Barney Aros (Joy) of Tucson; Walter Aros (Patty) of San Diego and Edgar Aros (Emi) of Okinawa; and his mother's dear cousin, Alma Maish and many cousins in Tucson, Alaska, England and Ohio. Pall Bearers are: Paul Skinner, Dean Lee, Randy Maish, Chris Bell, David Aros, Cyrus Perkins, Charles Caballero and Mark Aros. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

LEE, Paul Christopher, 26, of Kemah, passed away Sunday, July 5, 1998. Paul was born April 19, 1972 in Houston, Texas. Paul is preceded in death by his father, Joe E. Lee, and is survived by his wife, Amy S. Robbins Lee; sons, Zachary Christopher and Clayton Alexander Lee, all of Kemah, Texas; mother, Suzanne Lee of Clear Lake Shores, Texas; brothers, Joe E. Lee, Jr. and Mike Lee, both of Kemah, Texas; mother and father-in-law, David and Karen Robbins; brothers-in-law, Jeremy Robbins, Rob Robbins and his wife, Jen, all of Tucson, Arizona; aunt, Robbie Graham and her husband, Terry of Carlsbad, New Mexico; cousins, Drew and Christy Spencer and Eric Graham; grandparents-in-law, Jim and Imogene Cottle of Sylvania, Georgia, Elkins and Joann Pettit of Mogadore, Ohio and Virginia Robbins of Akron, Ohio; and many more relatives and friends. RAMIREZ, Charles 'Carlos' E., loving husband and father, of Tucson, passed away to the Lord on July 6, 1998. Born in Florence, Arizona on April 4, 1920. Preceded in death by daughter, Mary Esther Ramirez Jones; survived by wife, Guillermina; daughters, Barbara, Delia Marie, Alicia and Raquel; sisters, Sophia, Martha and Eulalia; also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 1998 from 1:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (CENTER CHAPEL), 240 S. Stone Ave. Our father will always be remembered in our hearts.
