TREJO, Mauro, 88, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away August 17, 1999. preceded in death by son, Maurito. Survived by beloved wife of 64 years, Lupe Trejo; daughters, Juanita (Louie) Gonzalez of Oracle, AZ, Panchita (Alex) Ortega of Tucson, AZ and Lupita (Emelio) Molina of Morenci; brother, Pedro Trejo. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 19, 1999 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Friday, August 20, 1999, 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at South Lawn cemetery. Mauro Trejo a retired rancher, 88, passed away August 17, 1999. Mauro worked as a cowboy for many years from 1940-1973. He worked for Santa Margarita Ranch, Aros Ranch, Buenos Aires Ranch and Tres Bellotas. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

HYDE, Lucille Mary, age 84, of Scottsdale, died August 17, 1999. She was born in Toledo, Ohio. Survivors include daughter, Rosalea McLemore; son, Fred McLemore; stepson, Bob Hyde; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 23, 1999 at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85254. Graveside at East Lawn Palms cemetery, Tucson, AZ, Monday, August 23, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society, P.O. Box 47270, Phoenix, AZ 85068-7270. JOHNSTON, Leon H., of Tucson, AZ, formerly of MI; August 20, 1999; age 78; husband of Adeline for 15 years; father of Carol (Jerry) Jones of MI and Lynn Johnston of IN; stepfather of Barton Cross of CO and Lori Cross of AZ; grandpa of Wendy (Steve) Shelley, Kelly (Joel) Tasma, Peter Cross, Keby Cross, Matt, Leita, Ellen and Ryan Sharp; great-grandpa of Jordin and Leann; like a father to Tom Lufkin of MI. Leon retired from GM Truck and Coach and served as a U.S. Marine during WWII. He serviced many local fire departments filling air tanks. He was a scuba diving instructor for many years. Funeral service Sunday, 2:30 p.m. at the Clarkston Community Church, Clarkston, MI, where friends may visit one hour prior to service. Private interment Lakeview cemetery, MI. Arrangements entrusted to the Lewis E. Wint & Son TRUST 100 Funeral Home, Clarkston, MI. Memorials may be made to the Cranbrook Hospice.

KEEFER, Philip H., 59 years old, died Monday, August 16, 1999 in Tucson. Born on September 27, 1939 in Waverly, New York. Survived by his wife, Pat Keefer of Tucson; children, Brian (Gyla) Keefer of Tularosa, New Mexico, Lisa (Tonya) Keefer of Chandler, AZ, Tracy Leary of Tucson, Timothy Keefer and Tristen Keefer both at home; sister, Betty (Bill) Willoughby of Akron, Ohio; brother, Bob (Vera) Keefer of Clinton, Ohio; mother and father-in-law, Betty Bulzomi and Jack Marrs, both of Tucson; five grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Sunday, August 22, 1999 at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, 8625 E. Tanque Verde, Tucson at 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Cancer Research or T.V.L. Family Center.

LYONS, Robert J., 81, passed away on August 18, 1999. preceded in death by his son, Michael (Sue) and William (former wife, Nancy). Survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma; son, Robert (Kathy); daughter, Mary (Robert Tanner); grandchildren, Debbie, Rob, Tracy, Amy, Katie and Jennifer; and great grandchildren, Kim, Sara, Devin and Zachery. Robert was born in Chicago, IL, moved from Indiana to Tucson in 1955 and worked as a member of IBEW Local 570 until 1981. Family and friends are invited to stop by at the family home after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 1999.

MADDEN, Donald Gene, age 74, died Thursday, August 19, 1999. He is survived by one daughter, Cherlyn Norden (Dennis) of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Shellie Miller; grandson, Michael Norden both of Denver, CO; two great-grandsons, Samuel and Joseph Miller both of Denver, CO; two nieces, Patty Wilson and Sharon Allen both of Tucson. Mr. Madden is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Mr. Madden was a veteran, having served with the Armed Forces during WWII. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 22, 1999 at 4:00 p.m. at the Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway Blvd. The family requests that those who desire may make donations to the Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway Blvd., 85716. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

HOWARD LEE MARSHALL, 70, passed away Thursday, August 19, 1999 at Dignita Hospice of Tucson. He was preceded in death by parents and brothers, Harold of Phoenix and Paul of Runnels, Iowa.
Howard served in the US Air Force for 22 1/2 years, retiring as Master Sergeant in 1970. His next position was as a Deputy Assessor for four years in Navajo County, then as a Senior Deputy Assessor for 13 years in Pima County.
Howard is survived by his wife, Wanda J. of 27 years; and brothers, Ray (Betty J.) of Palm Desert, CA, Charles of Tucson and Dent, MN; and daughter, Lorraine (Blaine) Barefoot of Omaha, NE. Also, sisters-in-law, Donna J. and Barbara J. Marshall; stepchildren, Eva R. (Roland) Keesler of Tucson, Jack W. (Rita) Ritchhart of Phoenix, and Darwin E. (Peggy) Ritchhart of Glendale, AZ; 10 grandchildren (one deceased), eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 1999 at the Church of the Painted Hills, 3295 W. Speedway Blvd., Tucson, AZ. Services will be presided over by Rev. Lee John Milligan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Howard's name to Dignita Hospice.

ADOLFO J. NAVARRO, born April 8, 1932 in Sinaloa, Mexico, died August 12, 1999. Survived by wife Maria Joffroy Navarro, daughters Luisa (Michael) Massee, Elena (Ronnye) Etcitty, Paulina (Carlos) Droessler, Alejandra Navarro, Gabriella Navarro, Sophia Navarro, Pilar Navarro and son Martin (Celenica) Navarro. He is also survived by six grandchildren Ronan, Ruan, Michael Joseph, John Martin, Carl and Michael James. He is also mourned by his brothers Rene (Elsa) Navarro, Enrique (Maria Elvira) Navarro, his sisters Anna Navarro Martinez and Rosita (Cesar) Lopez Castro. His family shall greatly miss him.

SALAZAR, Cristal G., 1, died August 17, 1999. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

ROSS E. WINTER, 55, of Tucson, died August 15, 1999. He retired with over 25 years of employment from Tucson Electric Power Co. He was preceded in death by his father, Ross W., and his sister, Cindy. He is survived by his mother, Mary; wife, Jackie; sister, Cathey; daughters, Susan, Karrie and Shannon; two grandchildren and numerous relatives. He served seven years nuclear submarine duty in Vietnam. He was a member of Casas Adobes Congregational Church. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, 1999. Services will be held at Casas Adobes Congregational Church, 6801 N. Oracle at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 21 with Rev. Ray Plumlee officiating. Burial will be private at South Lawn cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1636 N. Swan Rd., 85712 or Casas Adobes Congregational Church.

CASE, Randolph V., 84, died August 19, 1999. Father of Kathleen (Donald) Kangas of Tucson; grandfather of Rebecca Renteria and Stephen Wedgbury; great-grandfather of Katelyn, Marken, Cassandra and David. He was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece H. Case; parents, Marcus and Ora Case; and his brother, Maurice Case. He was principal and school teacher for Ray, Kearny and Ajo, Arizona Schools. Mr. Case started Ray, AZ Lions Club in 1950 and earned numerous awards from the Lions Club. He was currently a member of South Tucson Lions Club. He graduated from ASU and received his Masters Degree in 1957. Memorial Service 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. Raul V. 'Lefty' Gomez, 78, of Tucson, passed away August 20, 1999. Survived by daughters, Yolanda De La Rosa, Lupe (Rod) Peterson; sons, Raul Gomez, Jr., Rudy Gomez, Robert 'Bobby' (Dolores) Gomez; brother, Manuel V. Gomez. Also survived by 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews from here and California. Visitation will be held on Monday Tuesday, August 24, 1999 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, South Chapel, 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Wednesday, August 25, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Churhc, 1220 S. 6th Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope cemetery. Raul was a 50-year member of the Bushmasters Association. He was also a member of the Alamo Scouts and the 158th Regimental Combat Team. Raul was the first Arizonian to receive the Silver Star in 1942. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

KAIN, Timothy J., age 80, passed away August 13, 1999. Survived by ex-wife Lois, children Mary, Brian, Tim Jr., all of Tucson; also sisters Betty and Helen; and niece Aileen, all of Yonkers, N.Y. Tim retired from the Tucson Fire Dept., and was a member of V.F.W. #4903 and D.A.V. #18.

LABAY, Leon L., 83, of Tucson, passed away August 18, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Duke, and is survived by many family members and friends. Leon was an active Mason and attained a 32nd Degree. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 27, 1999 at Catalina United Methodist, Speedway and Treat, with Rev. Hal Cowart officiating. Inurnment South Lawn cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by family owned ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

PETERS, George H., April 19, 1931 – August 21, 1999. George was preceded in death by his loving parents, Christabel Ashton and George H. Peters, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Geri D. Peters; daughter, Janet Lee (Terry) Sheridan; and sons, George H. (Kelly) Peters III and Gregg Steven (Alice) Peters, all of Illinois. He enjoyed his grandchildren, Brian, Kristie and Jamie Sheridan of Glendale Heights, IL; Taylor Peters of Aurora, IL; and Bridgette Marie Peters and his name sake, Zachary George Peters of Belvidere, IL; George spent his last days with his loving wife, kids, and family, twin sister, Dorothy Peters (Bob) Hackett of Michigan; god-daughter, Ruth Hackett Jennetten of Naperville, IL; sister, Joan Peters (Rex) Reade of Nevada; youngest sister, Charolette Peters Anderson of Florida; great-uncle and -aunt, Clarence and Ruth Ashton; and great-aunt, Ruth Ashton Davidson. George is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews; cousins, Ray and Judy Davidson; and loving friends of Tucson. Dad loved the many barber shoppers of the Illinois District and of all the world. He had a special fondness for music. He was awarded many special achievements as 'The Music Man of the Year'. Special thanks to dear friends, John Erickson, Richard Johnson, and Bob Menter of Chords Unlimited, and Lynn Hauldren of Chordiac Arrest. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 24, 1999 at Santa Catalina Catholic Mission, 14380 N. Oracle Rd. Dad felt blessed by everyone God placed in his path of life and will continue to smile down on us from the heavens until we meet with him again. (Sybil) Wezelman of Bismark, ND; grandchildren, Daniel Bartlett, Elizabeth Bartlett, Stephanie Wezelman, Steven Wezelman; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Wezelman was a self-employed CPA, a World War II U.S. Army Veteran serving in the European Theater; an avid Ham Radio operator (W7UTV); graduate of University of Nebraska; Omaha member of American Society of CPA's; Arizona Society of CPA's; Life member of B'nai B'rith; and a member of Congregation Anshei Israel.
