PIERSON

Mildred Patricia 'Peggy' O'Neill Pierson

Mildred Patricia "Peggy" O'Neill Pierson died in Woodland Sunday, May 1 at age 92.

Mrs. Pierson was born March 17, 1913 in Chicago. She had been a Yolo County resident for 23 years. She was a homemaker. She was a 23-year member of American Lutheran Church and a 20-year charter member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Golden Harvest Chapter of Yolo County.

Survivors include Mrs. Pierson's daughter, Nancy Irene Ordazzo and her husband Jack of Woodland; her son, Robert Paul Pierson and his wife Barbara of Orland Park, Ill.; her granddaughter, Jennifer Pierson of Schererville, Ind.; her grandsons, James P. Ordazzo and his wife Teresa of Mechanicsville, Va. and John M. Ordazzo of Victorville and Robert M. Pierson of New Lenox, Ill.; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, June Teufel of Las Vegas and Lois Wilder of Chicago and 25 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert F. Pierson; her mother, Amelia Prestin; her father, James Patrick O'Neill and her sisters, Irene Ericksen and Dale Johnson.

Services: A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5 at American Lutheran Church, 1114 College St., Woodland with Pastor Jeffrey Irwin officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

PIGNATARO

Grace Beatrice Pignataro

Mrs. Grace B. Pignataro passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2000 at Vaca Valley Hospital in Vacaville. Born on Nov. 5, 1928, in San Francisco, she was 71 years old.

Mrs. Pignataro was raised in San Francisco and attended Everett Junior High School and Mission High School. In 1947 she married her high school sweetheart, Frank Pignataro in San Francisco. In 1953 the couple moved to Belmont, California where they resided until 1984 when they moved to Winters. While living in Belmont, she raised three children and was very involved in local youth athletic programs, doing everything from running the concession stand to fund-raising for local athletic events. Her children recall growing up with many friends around and described Mrs. Pignataro as a mother to all the neighborhood children. In 1989, Mrs. Pignataro moved to Vacaville when multiple sclerosis became debilitating and she needed professional care. She has resided in Vacaville for the past 11 years.

She is survived by her mother Beatrice Pacheco of San Jose; children, Frank Pignataro and wife Sue of Hudson, Illinois, Dan Pignataro and wife Jackie of Santa Rosa, and Tony Pignataro and wife Brenda of Vacaville; brother Bill Pacheco of San Jose; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Pignataro was preceded in death by her husband Frank Pignataro in June of 1987 and her father Ralph Pacheco.

Friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, Aug. 3, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Third and Main streets in Winters. The funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Winters Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made in her name to any local chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith’s Colonial Chapel in Winters.

PIKE

Billie Pike

Billie Pike died at Alderson Convalescent Hospital Saturday, Jan. 21 at age 76.

Mrs. Pike was born Aug. 17, 1929 in Weleetka, Okla., to William Floyd Boggs and Eva Pauline (Sims) Boggs. She had been a Yolo County resident for 40 years. She attended 12 years of school in the Weleetka, Okla. school system. She was employed as a nursing assistant at Woodland Memorial Hospital for 22 years.

Survivors include Mrs. Pike's children Randy Pike, Linda (Pike) Rodriguez and her husband Ernesto, Kevin Pike and his wife Beverly Pike, William Pike, Richard Pike, Tracey Pike and his wife Tiffanie (Frazier-Jespersen) Pike all of Woodland, Sheryl (Pike) Sullivan and her husband Steve of Reno, Nev., Stacey (Pike) Sathis and her husband Paul of El Dorado Hills and Kelly Pike and wife Lora (Young) Pike of Sacramento; her grandchildren, Randy Pike Jr., Jennifer R. Pike, Jamie Rodriguez and Ofelia Ambriz, Samantha Pike, Jacob Young-Pike and Madison Pearl Pike all of Sacramento, Leticia (Rodriguez) Toney and her husband Duane, Devin Rodriguez and Grover Benitez, Jacqueline Pike, Christopher Pike, Joseph Pike, Jennifer A. Pike, Tracey Pike Jr., Stephanie Pike all of Woodland, Melissa Sullivan of Las Vegas, Nev., Heather Pike of West Sacramento, Karen Pike of Vacaville, Benjamin Sathis and Emily Sathis of El Dorado Hills; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Margaret Andrews of Hayward; her sister-in-law, Viola Boggs of Oklahoma; her brother-in-law, Lonnie H. Finney; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, Kimberly Pike; her parents; her sisters, Peachie Lee Maddox and Melba "Skeet" Finney; and her brothers, Addison Hayes Boggs and Gerald E. Boggs.

The family requests memorials in Mrs. Pike's name be made to the American Lung Association, 909 12th St., Suite 100, Sacramento, 95814-2997; or Alderson Convalescent Hospital, 124 Walnut St., Woodland, 95695.

Services: A celebration of Mrs. Pike's life is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at Woodland Bible Church, 433 California St. Mrs. Pike requests bright colors are worn for her celebration. Refreshments served in the church hall immediately following the ceremony. McNary's Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

PIKE

Eiko Katsube Pike

Eiko Katsube Pike died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005 at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento, at age 73.

Pike was born to Izo and Sada Katsube on Feb. 1, 1932 in Hiroshima, Japan. Pike was a homemaker and had been a resident of Yolo County for the last 29 years. She was a member of Nicherin Sochu.

Pike is survived by her husband of 45 years, John F. Pike, of Woodland.

She is also survived by her son John A. Pike and his wife Shari, of Woodland, and her brothers Masyoshi and Toshiki Katsube, sister Sachiyo Nishimura, all of Hiroshima, Japan, and grand children Adam and Allie Pike, of Woodland.

Services: Graveside services will be at Monument Hill Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15. The family would prefer memorials in the form of donations to the Sutter Memorial Hospital Foundation.

McNary's Chapel is assisting the family.

PIMENTEL

Joe Brazil Pimentel

Joe Brazil Pimentel died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Palm Gardens in Woodland at the age of 81 of cancer. Mr. Pimentel was born on Dec. 9, 1921, in Woodland and was a resident of Sacramento for 30 years before returning to Woodland in 1999. He worked as a truck driver for Hedlund Lumber co., and McLaughn Co. for many years until his retirement. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 71th Division 5th Infantry Regiment European Theater in Germany and France. Mr. Pimentel was a life member of VFW Post 1985 of Woodland, Cabrillo Club No. 26 and a member of Holy Rosary Church. He is survived by his sons, Frank and wife Lena of Peabody, Mass., and Ralph and partner Beth of Sacramento, as well as grandsons, Joseph and Frankie Pimentel of Peabody and Ryan Pimentel of Sacramento. Other survivors include his sisters, Mamie and husband Joe Silva of Woodland, Bertie and husband Jerry Rudorf of Bakersfield; brother, John and wife Dorothy Pimentel of Patterson; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Mary Pimentel, brothers John and James Pimentel and his former wife LaVerne Pimentel.

North Sacramento Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family prefers contributions to Yolo Hospice, P.O. Box 1014, Davis, 95617, and Holy Rosary Church.

Services: A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, June 30, at Holy Rosary Church in Woodland, with Father John Boll officiating. Interment will follow at Monument Hill Memorial Park in the veteran's area.

PINE

John D. Pine

Funeral services for John D. Pine, 67, of Vacaville was held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in McCune Garden Chapel.

The Rev. Keith Knauf officiated. Burial followed in the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.

Mr. Pine died April 30, 1999, in Menlo Park.

Born Dec. 29, 1931, in Sacramento, he worked for the state Department of Justice as a special agent for 25 years. He was a member of the Woodland Elks, and he also enjoyed karate and hiking with his fiancee, Miluse Mladek of Sunnyvale. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and good friend.

Mr. Pine is survived by his fiancee; sons, Craig of Crest Line, Eric of Midland, Michigan; grandson, Kirk of Crest Line; granddaughters, Heather and Holly of Farewell, Michigan; cousins, John and David, both of Sacramento, Benny of Elk Grove; and his former wife, Geri Gonzalez of Vacaville.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ruth Bradanini, 290 Fruitvale, Vacaville, CA 95688.

PINION

Betty Jean Pinion

Betty Jean Pinion of Pea Ridge died in Brighton House Care Center, Rogers, Ark. Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at age 76.

Born April 8, 1926, in Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Pinion was the daughter of Harry Charles Kayter and Catherine Berry Kayter. She moved to Pea Ridge to make her home 18 years ago after the death of her husband, Albert Lee Pinion. She was a member of TOPS in Pea Ridge and St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Bentonville. She was involved with the foreign exchange program with her daughter and shared her home with Filip from Sweden; Alina from Russia; Pontus from Sweden; and Andre from New Zealand. According to her family members, "she loved her family and was devoted to them."

Mrs. Pinion is survived by her daughters, Cathy Wallace of Pea Ridge, and Linda Longan of Woodland; six grandchildren, Debra McDonald, Billy Wallace and Richard Wallace, all of Pea Ridge, Sandra Longan, Robert Longan and Michael Pinion, all of Woodland; and five great-grandchildren, Tyler Keith Wallace, Dylan Carl Wallace, Montana Longan, Jimmy Lee McKenzie, and Brandon Longan.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and sister, Shirley Zaso.

Funeral service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Burial is to be in Pea Ridge Cemetery, Ark.

Visitation is set from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home.

Sisco Funeral Home Inc. of Pea Ridge, Ark.. is assisting the family with arrangements.
