Judith Ann Dudas

Judith Ann Dudas, 59, beloved wife of Joseph, died Oct. 17 in Norwalk Hospital with her family by her side.She was born June 30, 1950 in Tuchahoe, N.Y. to the late Gennaro and Jean Luizzi.She was retired from The Verizon Phone Company, N.Y. In addition to her husband Joe, she is survived by a brother, Eugene Luizzi and his wife Angela of Tuchahoe, N.Y.; a sister Geraldine Tuccillo and husband Joseph of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

The Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Whittingham Cancer Center, 30 Stevens St., Norwalk, Ct. 06850.

Margaret Mary McElroy Keogh

Margaret Mary McElroy Keogh, 84, of Norwalk, died Oct. 17 at the Norwalk Hospital. She was the wife of the late Wilmot J. Keogh. Keogh was born in Bridgeport on Sept. 18, 1925, daughter of the late Leo and Margaret Radel McElroy and has lived in Norwalk for most of her life. She was a graduate of Marymount High School in Tarrytown, N.Y., Class of 1942 and Rosemont College, Class of 1946. She was a member of Shorehaven Golf Club and the Notre Dame Guild and was very generous with her time as a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Norwalk Health Department, F.I.S.H. and the Notre Dame Convalescent Home.

She is survived by five sons, John J. Keogh and his wife Georgia of Fairfield, Thomas W. Keogh and his wife Nutie of Nicaragua, Daniel P. Keogh of Indiana, Penn., James A. Keogh and his wife Suzanne of Central, S.C., and Michael J. Keogh of Norwalk. She is also survived by her brother, Andrew McElroy of Bridgeport, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother James McElroy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. Mary cemetery in Norwalk. Her family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, today from 4-7 p.m. Donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 203 East Ave., Norwalk, 06855, or to the Notre Dame Convalescent Home, 76 West Rocks Rd., Norwalk, 06851.

Patricia Shanahan

Patricia Shanahan, known to her friends and family as Trish, died on Oct. 19, after a short illness. She was 75 and had lived in the Darien/ Rowayton area for more than 45 years.

Born in Pittsburgh, Penn., in 1934 to Donald Camp and Dorothy Fagan Anderson, Patricia Clyde Anderson Shanahan was married for 42 years to James Gormley Shanahan, who died in 1999.

Shanahan received a bachelor's degree in English in 1956 from Carlow College, where she learned to translate literature into Braille, a skill she put to use upon graduation. A year and a half after graduation, she married Shanahan. After stops in Ogden, UT, Columbus, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, the couple moved to Rowayton, in 1964, where they lived for eight years; and. Shanahan volunteered for the Junior League and other charitable organizations. After the family moved to Darien in 1972, Shanahan began working for Rogers, Casey & Barksdale. She worked for that company and several of its offshoots for more than 20 years. Upon her retirement, she traveled as often as she could, including treks to her ancestral roots in Ireland and Scotland.

In her spare time, Shanahan was a noted needlecraft artisan and was particularly known for crafting sweaters that were the height of fashion and made their wearers the envy of all. She often created demonstration models for the local yarn shops, which would give her complicated patterns and ask her to apply them to various apparel before displaying her finished work in their stores as the gold standards for patrons. An avid reader, Shanahan also enjoyed playing tennis, platform tennis and bridge. In addition to raising her four beloved children, she was a dog lover, a cat owner and a fish keeper.

Shanahan is survived by her three daughters, Lisa Shanahan, Kathleen Shanahan and Louise Schmidt all of Darien; her son, Tony Shanahan of Norwalk; four granddaughters, Meg and Kate Tomlinson; and Lana and Sommer Schmidt all of Darien; a grandson, Wiley Schmidt also of Darien; and a bichon frise, Sabina.

A funeral mass is scheduled for today at 3:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Gallivant, a transportation service for senior citizens in Darien. Donations can be mailed to Gallivant, c/o Darien Social Services, 2 Renshaw Road, Darien, CT 06820.

Delia G. (Garvey) Baddeley

Delia G. (Garvey) Baddeley, 103, of Tolland, wife of the late, Joseph, died Nov. 14 at Woodlake of Tolland. Born in County Galway, Ireland she had lived in Norwalk for most of her life, before moving to Tolland 16 years ago.

She leaves two daughters, Eileen Cleary and Marion Olson, both of Norwalk and 23 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren and a niece that she raised, Catherine Peters. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Malachy Baddeley; three grandchildren, Dale Patrick Cleary, Kathleen Maura (Cleary) Vansocy and Christopher Joseph Cleary, grandson-in-law, David Brigante, a son-in-law, John B. Cleary and eight brothers and sisters.

Her family extends their gratitude for the care that Delia received from Woodlake of Tolland and the Hospice Staff of the Visiting Nurses & Health Services of Connecticut.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice program of the Visiting Nurse Association, 8 Keynote Dr., Vernon, CT 06066.

Ann D'Orso

Ann D'Orso, 88, of Norwalk, died Nov. 12, at her home. Born in Norwalk, she was a lifelong resident and longtime cancer survivor. Born in Norwalk, the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa D'Orso, she was a graduate of Norwalk High School, a member of the Alumni Association and the Rosary Guild at St. Joseph's Church where she was a member for many years.

She had worked as an executive secretary and assistant to Theodore Stanley at MBI in Norwalk.

Predeceased by her brothers Vincent and Louis D'Orso, and sister Mildred Reed, she is survived by her 10 loving nieces and nephews, and a host of grand nieces and nephews, with whom she shared a close bond and cared for as if her own children.

The Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk handled arrangements.

George Robert Jones

George Robert Jones, 74, a lifelong member of Norwalk, died Nov. 12, at home from a brief illness.

Born in Norwalk on Jan. 2, 1935, he was the son of late George A. Jones and Marion (Malony) KinKade. He worked for the former Hat Corp. of Norwalk for many years until its closure and continued working until his retirement.

He had a love of animals and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was thrilled to see yet another victory as they recently became World Series champions. He also enjoyed the sports of basketball and football.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Joyce (Anderson) Jones; a daughter Cynthia Ann Seligam of Lakeland Fla.; six grandchildren; one great grandson; two brothers, Arthur James Jones of Indiana and Stanley Chase Jones of Georgia; a sister Nancy Ellen Jacob of Norwalk and several nieces and nephews.

His graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today in St. Mary Cemetery, Norwalk. There are no calling hours. The Rev. Thomas Berberich will officiate.

The family has selected Norwalk''s Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 5 East Wall Street to assist them in arrangements.

Paul Leonard Jones

Paul Leonard Jones, 54, died Nov. 10, at Yale New Haven hospital after a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of Norwalk, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cathy Lundgren Jones and their two sons, Christopher and Ryan. He was the son of Robert F. and Roberta L. Jones. He is also survived by his sister, Carol J. Schott, and her husband Robert F. Schott, in addition to many nieces and nephews.

He was the third generation insurance professional for the John H. Leonard Agency, which was started by his grandfather in 1930. At the time of his death, he served as vice president of Shoff Darby Companies in Norwalk.

His commitment to his profession lead him to serve as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Norwalk and then to the state association where he served in many capacities including as its president in 1994. He continued his involvement serving from 1995-2000 as Connecticut's state national director for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America and on many committees including the Finance Committee and as Chairman of its Audit Committee.

A lifelong civic leader, Paul's community involvement began early in his career as president of the Norwalk Exchange Club, serving as a commissioner of traffic and parking, as a member of the board of directors and finance committee of the Norwalk YMCA and as a member of the Home School Association of All Saints Catholic School where his two sons graduated, as well as the Fathers Club at Fairfield College Preparatory School. He was a member of the Republican Town Committee and a third generation member of the Catholic Club.

In 1988, he was appointed to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Norwalk and has been its chairman since the spring of 1998. In 1983 he became a member of the Neighborhood Housing Authority and served as its chairman in 1985. He was a president of the North Walke Housing Corporation and the Housing Site Development Agency. He was a member of the board of directors of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and served on its executive committee as treasurer and vice president of community development. He also served as a trustee of the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk as well as a member of its finance committee. In 2007 Gov. Jodi Rell appointed Jones to serve on the Connecticut Housing and Finance Authority.

He was an avid golfer and skier, and derived his greatest pleasure from traveling with his wife and children.
