Robert Leroy Cameron, 82

DOVER - Robert Leroy Cameron of Dover, formerly of Marydel, died Tuesday April 14, 1998, in Westminster Village Health Care Center, Dover. He was 82.

Mr. Cameron was the son of the late Joseph W. Cameron Sr. and Rachel E. Rittenhouse Cameron.

He was a lifelong member of the Marydel Volunteer Fire Co. and a former member of the Delaware State Fire Police.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen B. Stade Cameron of Dover; a daughter, Susan Emily Wright of Shrewsbury, Mass.; four grandchildren, Bruce Wright, Janine Wright and Wesley Wright, all of Shrewsbury, and Leighanne Wright of Florida.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus Street, Dover, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.

George Franklin Brown III, 47

REHOBOTH BEACH - George Franklin Brown III of Rehoboth Beach died Saturday April 11, 1998, in his home. He was 47.

Mr. Brown was born in 1950 in Lewes, the son of the late George Franklin Brown Jr. and Sophie Kyle Brown.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Brown worked as a dredge operator for Chaney Enterprises, Waldorf, Md., for 8 years. He owned Brown's Seafood in Rehoboth Beach, a family business since 1979. He most recently worked for Hurley Lawn Services.

He is survived by one brother, Larry Brown of Wilmington, and one sister, Betty Roe of Bowie, Md.

Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be private.

Virgie M. Pinder, 80

WILMINGTON - Virgie M. Pinder of Wilmington, formerly of Bridgeville, died Sunday, April 12, 1998, in her home. She was 80.

Miss Pinder was a self-employed restaurant owner, first in the 600 block of North Madison Street and finally at 2400 N. Market Street.

She was a member of Mother of Faith Memorial Baptist Church and was president of the Missionary Board.

Miss Pinder enjoyed cooking and volunteering to feed the homeless.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary D. Hill, in 1990.

She is survived by two children, Lycurgus Bacon and Elzey Pinder, both of Wilmington; four brothers, Elwood Pinder of Bridgeville, Hansel Pinder of Houston, Douglas Pinder of Greenwood and Albert Pinder of Clearwater, Calif.; two sisters, Grethel Townsend and Millicent Cannon, both of Wilmington; nine grandchildren, Robert Pinder, Vondlear Jackson, Sharon Hill, Troy Hill, Tussia Hill, William Hill Jr., Lycurgus Hammond, Grant Bacon and Lycressa Bacon; and three sisters-in-law, Alberta Pinder of Greenwood, Mary Pinder of Bridgeville and Rose Pinder of Houston.

Service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Harriett Tubman United Methodist Church, 22nd & Market streets, Wilmington, where friends may call at the church from 4-7 p.m.

Burial will be in the Federal Hill Cemetery, Federalsburg, Md.

Forrest W. 'Bub' Kerlin, 72

BRIDGEVILLE - Forrest W. 'Bub' Kerlin of Bridgeville died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 72.

Mr. Kerlin was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Bordentown, N.J.

He had resided in that area most of his life before moving to Delaware in 1984.

He had retired as a lineman for the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1975 with over 32 years of service.

Mr. Kerlin was an Army veteran, serving with the 1st Army, 1st Medical Battalion, as an ambulance driver in the European theater.

He is survived by his wife, Elma R. 'Kotz' Kerlin; three sisters, Ada Moscickis of Chicago, Emily DeCarlo of Trenton, N.J., and Shirley Collis of Hamilton Township, N.J.; several nieces and nephews; and many very special friends.

Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Huber Funeral Home, 517 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, where friends may call 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Columbus Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Johns Hopkins Hospital, Cancer Research, Baltimore, MD.

William W. Larrimore Jr., 61

WOODINVILLE, Wash. - William W. Larrimore Jr. of Woodinville, died Sunday, April 12, 1998. He was 61.

Mr. Larrimore was born in 1936 in the French Hospital in New York City.

He was raised in Delaware, and graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1954.

Mr. Larrimore served in the U.S. Navy for four years and in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for 12 years. While in the Navy, he served aboard the U.S.S. Lexington.

He retired after 23 years from GTE, where he was a project manager for the Alderwood Mall in 1977.

Mr. Larrimore was an avid sportsman. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and scuba diving. He was a world traveler and enjoyed restoring classic cars.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three children, Holly Ann Osborn, William W. Larrimore, III and James Hawk Larrimore; a sister, Sally Hammond of Dover, Del.; a brother, Joseph K. Larrimore of Milton, Del., with whom he shared many travel adventures; his former wife, Phyllis J. Larrimore of Oklahoma; seven stepchildren; 18 grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, Everett.

Contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 3876 Bridge Way N., No. 300, Seattle, WA 98103.

Joshua M. 'Skeets' Elliott, 92

TEQUESTA, Fla. - Joshua M. 'Skeets' Elliott of Tequesta, originally of Laurel, Del., died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, in Hospice of Palm Beach. He was 92.

Mr. Elliott had lived in Tequesta for three years, moving from Jupiter Inlet Colony, where he lived from 1958 until 1995.

He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Tequesta.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie W. Elliott of Tequesta; a son, Kent M. Elliott of Jacksonville Beach; a daughter, Lynne E. Monteith of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held noon Saturday at Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home in Jupiter.

Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Jupiter.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Tequesta branch office, or the Church of the Good Shepherd, 400 Seabrook Road, Tequesta, FL 33469.

Gertrude James, 67

MILFORD - Gertrude James of Milford died Friday, April 10, 1998, in the Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 67.

Miss James was born in Camden, Ala., daughter of the late Jessie James Sr. and Mary McCall James.

She attended Vreden Burgh Junior High School, Vreden Burgh, Ala.

Miss James was employed for approximately 25 years by Draper King Cole, Milton.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witness, Milford.

She is survived by a brother, Jessie James Jr. of Rockville Center, N.Y.; three sisters, Ora Lee Johnson of New Orleans, Idell Taylor of Mobile, Ala., and Dee Dee Coleman of Magnolia; and a host of relatives and friends.

Service and burial will be private.

Anna D. Hicks, 63

LEWES - Anna D. Hicks of Lewes died of heart failure Thursday, April 9, 1998, in the Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 63.

Mrs. Hicks was born in Philadelphia, to the late Mary Elizabeth Holden.

Shortly after birth, she moved to Millsboro, where she was raised by her grandparents - Beshore and Lenora Holden.

Mrs. Hicks was a loving and wonderful mother of four children.

She was employed many years as a substitute secretary for Bridgeville and Millsboro school districts and then with the Doxee Food Corp. in Lewes for 14 years. When Doxee closed, she enjoyed domestic life.

Mrs. Hicks and her husband ventured throughout the continental U.S., Canada and Mexico.

She was a member of the Burtons Chapel AME Church, Milton, the Golden Circle and a honorary member of Eastside Baptist Church, Tacoma, Wash.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Wellington 'Buddy' O. Hicks Jr.; four children, Denise Hicks Barnes and Trudy M. Mifflin, both of Dover, Wellington O. Hicks III of Milton, and Charlene R. Moore of Hampton, Va.; three sons-in-law, Carl T. Barnes, Brian T. Mifflin and William Moore; a mother-in-law, Georgie G. Hicks; eight grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Slaughter Neck.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Young's Funeral Homes, Milford.

Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.

Alfred E. Anderson, 65

DOVER - Alfred E. Anderson of Dover died of an apparent heart attack, Thursday April 9, 1998, in the Kent General Hospital. He was 65.

Mr. Anderson was born in Taylor's Bridge, the son of the late Alfred and Catherine Anderson.

He retired in 1989 from Civil Service after 37 years of service in the Department of the Air Force at Dover Air Force Base, where he was an electronics engineering technician specializing in advanced radar and navigational computer systems.

Mr. Anderson was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1949-52.

He was an avid reader and his main hobby was cabinetmaking.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann Anderson of Dover; a daughter, Kelly C. Anderson of Groton, Conn.; two sons, Scott E. of Bear and Kent B. of Rehoboth Beach; one sister, Thelma McGinnis of Dover; one granddaughter.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Townsend Cemetery.

The family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901 or to the American Heart Association, 1096 Old Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19713.

Sarah Miley 'Sally' McMahon, 85

FREDERICA - Sarah Miley 'Sally' McMahon of Frederica died Friday April 10, 1998, in Kent General Hospital. She was 85.

Mrs. McMahon was born in Chester, Pa., the daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel Carpenter Miley.

She worked as a waitress at the Welsh Restaurant and Laura's Restaurant in Chester; then came to Dover to work in the food department at Scott Paper. She retired 23 years ago, in 1975.

Mrs. McMahon was blessed with good neighbors and many wonderful friends during her retirement, and in her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clarence M. McMahon Sr. in 1995.

She is survived by one son, Clarence M. McMahon Jr of Kirkwood, Pa.; two daughters, Patricia DiCave of Brookhaven, Pa., and Maureen Cresta of West Chester, Pa.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Service will be noon Wednesday at the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in the Delaware Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
