MILFORD - Richard Earl Pearson of Milford died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, in the Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 50.
Mr. Pearson was disabled, but was previously employed with Schaffer.
He was a member of the Love Temple Church of God in Christ in Dover, and superintendent of the adult Sunday School and attended Bible study classes.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Pearson Sr.; and a brother, William Pearson.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Taylor Pearson; a daughter, Tamika Pearson Sutten of Baltimore; his mother, Alice Pearson Hawkins of Newark; three sisters, Helen Carson of New Castle, Alice Woodard of Glen Mills, Pa., and Carol Woodard of Newark; three brothers, Donald Pearson of Newark, Benjamin Pearson of Laurel and Joseph F. Pearson of Wilmington; four aunts; two uncles; seven step-children; seven sister-in-laws; a brother-in-law and devoted friend, Emory Woodard; many nieces and nephews; a mother-in-law, Georgie Taylor of Painter, Va.; and many relatives and friends.
Service will be noon Friday at the Congo Funeral Home, 201 N. Gray Ave., Wilmington, where friends may call two hours prior to service.
Burial will be in the Gracelawn Memorial Park.
Frances Catherine Leitch, 77
CAMDEN-WYOMING - Frances Catherine Leitch of Camden-Wyoming died of natural causes Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, in the Milford Memorial Hospital. She was 77.
Mrs. Leitch was born in Baltimore.
She resided in Davidsonville, Md., for the last nine months and at Heritage Harbor for three years.
Mrs. Leitch was a homemaker and mother.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose and the AA County Farm Bureau.
Mrs. Leitch enjoyed bowling, car racing, country music and comedy movies.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles D. Leitch, in 1987; a son, Michael S. Leitch; and a sister, Rosalind Brown.
She is survived by two sons, Harry O. Leitch and his wife, Betsy, of Lost Creek, W. Va., and Stephen D. Leitch and his wife, Janet, of Frederica; a daughter, Catherine Hansen and her husband, Jeff, of Henderson, Md.; two brothers, Kenneth Rogers of Stuart, Fla., and Robert Rogers of Annapolis, Md.; two sisters, Marian O'Neale of Stantonsubrg, N.C., and Elizabeth A. Stickell of Hemingway, S.C.; her grandchildren, Tyson Leitch of Edgewatrer, Md., Shawn Dephew and April Perry of Bowers Beach, Brian Letich of Waldorf, Md., Angela Ehst of Camden, Jason and Navonne Owen of Henderson and Johnathan Mark Leitch of Baltimore; and her great-grandchildren, Brandon Leitch of Waldorf, Md., Dylan Ehst of Camden, Christian Leitch of Baltimore and Sarah Sperry of Baltimore.
Service will be noon Friday at the Hardesty Funeral Home, PA, where friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., today and one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Davidsonville U.M.C. Cemetery.

Evelyn L. Brown, 63
MILTON - Evelyn L. Brown of Milton died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Millsboro, Monday, Feb. 23, 1998. She was 63.
Mrs. Brown was employed as a floor lady with the Milton Sewing Factory and worked many years, retiring in 1985.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Forrest Moorhead; in 1996, and her mother, Sara Ann Wilson Moorhead, in 1994.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William J. Brown; a brother, Benjamin J. Moorhead of Milford; a sister, Anna Mae Long of Dagsboro; and a stepbrother, George D. Wyatt of Milford.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lofland Funeral Home, Lakeview Avenue, Milford, where friends may call after noon.
Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.
Dorothy May Fleming-Bumbrey, 63
SMYRNA - Dorothy May Fleming-Bumbrey of Smyrna died Saturday, February 21, 1998 in Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. She was 63.
Ms. Fleming-Bumbrey was born May 2, 1934, in Camden, N.J., where she was raised.
She attended Camden schools through her primary and secondary years.
Ms. Fleming-Bumbrey enjoyed being around friends and family and was a loving person.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Bumbrey of Salisbury, Md., Ricardo Bumbrey of Pensauken, N.J., Cloteal Bumbrey of Smyrna, and Keith Bumbrey of Camden, N.J.; three daughters, Robin Daniels of Felton, Louis Bumbrey of Dover and Ursula Jackson of Salisbury; two sons-in-laws, Spencer Daniels and Eugene Richardson; four daughters-in-law, Cassandra Bumbrey, Darlene Bumbrey, Flourence Bumbrey and Teresa Bumbrey; two brothers, Allen Flemings of Philadelphia and William Flemings of Camden; two sisters, Mildred Flemings of Camden and Audrey Jackson of Camden; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Harry H. Jackson of Bridgeville; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Service will be noon Saturday at the Center of Faith Church of God In Christ, Loockerman Street, Dover, where friends may call two hours prior to service.
Burial will be in Whatcoat Cemetery, Dover.

Albert Novin, 73
SMYRNA - Albert Novin of Smyrna died Monday, February 23, 1998 in the Hospital for the Chronically Ill. He was 73.
Mr. Novin was born in Philadelphia, son of the late Benjamin F. Novin and Rose Novin.
He served during WWII in Normandy and France for the U.S. Army. He received the Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze stars as a staff sergeant in the Army.
He is survived by two sons, Frederick Novin and Charles Novin, both of Pennsylvania.
Service and burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Bear with the Rev. Ted Wood officiating.
Samuel V. Oddo, 64
LONG NECK - Samuel V. Oddo of Long Neck died of cerebral vascular accident Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. He was 64.
Mr. Oddo was born in Wilmington, son of the late Josephine Labrauno and Guiseppe Oddo.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Mr. Oddo was employed as a railroad conductor with Amtrak, with 41 years of service, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of 41 years of the United Transportation Union 1378, the VFW Post 7447, Rehoboth Beach, the American Legion Post 28, Riverdale & Oak Orchard, and the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Hockessin.
Mr. Oddo was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Oddo; two sons, David W. and Vincent, both of Millsboro; three daughters, Marcella Oddo of Harbeson, Antoinette O. Tikiob of Lewes and Josephine Roark of Middletown; a brother, James Oddo of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Grace McKinley and Mildred DeStafney, both of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Del. 24, near Oak Orchard.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the chapel of the Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road & Delaware 24, Long Neck.
Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the chapel in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, near Summit.

Minnie V. Riggins, 97
LEWES - Minnie V. Riggins of Lewes died Saturday, April 4, 1998, in the Lewes Convalescent Center. She was 97.
Mrs. Riggins was born Sept. 20, 1900, in New Bloomfield, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Kate Smeigh.
She had lived in Lewes since 1996. She retired at age 65 from Nilon Bros. in Marcus Hook, Pa., having worked in food service. During World War II she worked at the anmmunition plant in Elkton, Md.
She moved to California after retirement and resided at the Towers Senior Complex in San Jose, Calif., and was a member of the Presbyterian Church at the complex. She enjoyed going to church and the Billy Graham crusades.
Mrs. Riggins loved sewing and made many of her own clothes.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Miller Donaghy and William Riggins, and two brothers, Ben Smeigh and Edward Smeigh.
She is survived by three daughters, Marion Windsor-Scherer of San Jose, Barbara J. Clendenning of Dover, and Cathy L. Marler of Milton; a son, Raymond Riggins of Elkton; a half-sister, Reda Glenn of Cape May, N.J.; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Founds Funeral Home, 229 S. High St., West Chester, Pa.
Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, Pa.
Local arrangements are by Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover.
Margaret D. M. Gromis, 65
LEWES - Margaret D. M. Gromis of Lewes died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, in the Beebe Medical Center. She was 65.
Mrs. Gromis was born in Lebanon, Pa., the daughter of the late James and Margaret Roof.
She is survived by two daughters, Vonita Mills of Lewes and Kim M. Gromis of Frederica; a son, James A. Gromis of Nassau; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel in Lewes where Father Roman Stadmuller will officiate.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway Cemetery, Lewes.

Donald R. Baker, 67
MONTROSE, Colo. - Donald R. Baker of Montrose, formerly of Gumboro died Monday, March 9, 1998, in his home. He was 67.
Mr. Baker was born in Pittsville, Md., the son of the late Linwwood Richard and and Mildred Harris Barre.
He served in the U.S. Navy Defense Intelligence Agency where he retired as a senior petty officer.
Mr. Baker was a member of the Naval Fleet Reserve and the Black Canyon Audubon Society in Montrose. He was a graduate of the Millsboro High School Class of 1948 and the Goldey-Beacom College Class of 1950.
He is survived by a brother, T. Richard Baker Sr. of Milton; two nieces, Karen H. Wyatt of Smyrna and Donna Schirmer of Milton and a nephew, T. Richard Baker Jr. of Dover.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro. Pastor Danny Tice will officiate.

Elizabeth S. Slights, 91
DOVER - Elizabeth S. Slights of Dover died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, in Kent General Hospital. She was 91.
Mrs. Slights was born May 28, 1906, in Saxton, Pa., the daughter of the the late William W.E. and Elsie Shannon.
She graduated from Ithaca College and taught music in New York and Pennsylvania schools. She also taught private piano lessons and was most recently a homemaker.
Mrs. Slights attended St. James Episcopal Church in West Hartford, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Slights Sr., in 1984.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph R. Slights Jr of Dover and William W. E. Slights of Canada; a sister, Martha Hamilton of Kirkland, Wash; three grandchildren, Jessica S. Ahern, Jean Elizabeth Slights and Joseph R. Slights III; and two-great grandsons, John Slights and Michael Slights.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.
