Corabelle Kitzman, 85, of 1620 Seminole Avenue, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 following a brief illness. Memorial services will be held 9:00 AM, Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Raymond; sons John of Long Beach, CA, Charles of Montrose, CO, and Jeff of Cedar Rapids; daughters Linda Aquino of Lompoc, CA and Judy Kitzman of Amana; and 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Corabelle was born December 10, 1922 in Ames, Kansas, the daughter of John M. and Mabel C. (Chartier) Curtis. She graduated from high school and later attended two years of summer school. She taught school at a rural country school for a few years and later she was employed at an aircraft factory in California during WWII. She was united in marriage to Raymond Kitzman on May 1, 1946 in Clay Center, Kansas. She was a homemaker following the end of the war, and she and Raymond raised their family on a farm near What Cheer, IA. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and time spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Corabelle’s honor may be directed to The Grant Wood Area Chapter of the Red Cross.

Bea Ann Kolar
Born in Cedar Rapids, IA on August 10, 1947
Departed on October 27, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Cemetery: Mt. Calvary Cemetery
Bea Ann Kolar, 61, of 323 40th St. NE, died suddenly Monday, October 27, 2008, at her home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rev. Christopher Podhajsky will officiate. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday with a wake service beginning at 7 PM.

Survivors include her daughter Nicole Brooke Kolar-Guerrero and son-in-law Rolando Guerrero, three grandchildren Isrrael, Isabel, and Sofia Guerrero, and two soon to be born grandsons Leonardo and Emmanuel Guerrero. She is also survived by two brothers Len Kolar of Cedar Rapids, and Charles Kolar of Corona, California, and a niece Tanya Kolar-Rodriguez of Corona, California. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Bea was born August 10, 1947 in Cedar Rapids to Leonard and Beatrice Orr Kolar. She completed her education in Tucson, Arizona. She graduated from Palo Verde High School in 1965. While in school she was involved in drama and music. Following her education, Bea returned to Iowa. She gave birth to her daughter and they made Cedar Rapids, Iowa their home.

Bea was best known as a fun-loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed deeply, her loved ones know she is in a better place with her Creator.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Evelyn L. Kimm
Born in Norway, IA on June 25, 1918
Departed on November 9, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Evelyn L. Kimm, 90, of Garnett Place died Sunday Nov. 9, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a short illness. Services at 11 AM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10 AM on Wednesday. Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Entombment at the Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a brother, Edwin (Nina) Kimm of Norway, Iowa, and a sister, Marian (Paul) Moseman of Kansas City, Mo. She is also survived by 5 nephews and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dorothy Stein.

Evelyn was born on June 25, 1918 in Norway, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Clara Larson Kimm. She was a quality control inspector at Rockwell- Collins for 42 years, retiring in 1983. Evelyn was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching and was an avid fan of the Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. Memorial donations may be given to First Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.

James Orval Kruse
Born in Cedar Rapids, IA on April 12, 1936
Departed on November 15, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Service: Wednesday, November 19, 2008

James Orval Kruse, 72, of 4102 Lake View Dr SW, died Saturday November 15, 2008 in his home from a long illness. Services: 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, where a gathering will be held for friends on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.

Survivors include his wife Kathryn Kruse, his children, Elaine Behrens and husband Chris of Cedar Rapids, Jennifer Weber and husband Pete of Dubuque, and Kyl Gorman and husband Seth of Cedar Rapids, a brother, Dean Kruse of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Donna Nunemaker of Cedar Rapids, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a special friend, Don Wachal of Cedar Rapids and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dick Kruse and sister, Yvonne Beranek.

James was born April 12, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Orval and Pearl Kruse. He married Andrea Boyle and they later divorced. He then married Kathryn Ann Rasmussen. James was a foreman for Rockwell Goss, Storm Steel and retired from Cedar Rapids Inc-Terex. He enjoyed life and loved his raspberry garden. He was an avid sports fan enjoying basketball, football, wrestling, the St. Louis Cardinals and Kurt Warner. He was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church. He served in the nation guard for 8 years.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.

Leslie A. Kurth
Born in Cedar Rapids, IA on February 20, 1940
Departed on November 24, 2008. Resided in North English, IA.

Leslie A. Kurth, 68, of North English formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, November 24, 2008, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services will be at 1 PM Friday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, and at the chapel after 12:30 PM on Friday.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Linda, a son Greg and daughter Roxanne Smith both of Belle Plaine, and daughter Jeanette Simmons of Cedar Rapids. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Hubert Kurth, and a grandson Justin Kurth.

Leslie was born February 20, 1940 in Cedar Rapids to George and Elizabeth Mae Kurth. He graduated from Coggon High School in 1958. He married Linda K. Ament on August 3, 1958 in Palo, Iowa. He was an antique dealer.

A memorial fund has been established.

Edna Mae Kint, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by Sr Linda Bechen. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home today from 4 to 7 p.m.

Edna is survived by her husband, Nick, of 63 years; children, Gregory (Coleen) Kint of Mt. Vernon and Janis (Scott) Netser of Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Landon Netser of Cedar Rapids, and Tim (Beth) Mosier of Glen Ellyn, Il; and great grandchildren, Riley and Payton. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jeffrey.

Edna was born April 20, 1926 in Cedar Rapids to Edward and Lillian Kulhavy. She married Leonard “Nick” Kint there on June 26, 1948. Edna worked at Quaker Oats, retiring in 1951. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Memorials may be sent to the Hospice House of Mercy or the National Czech and Slovak Museum.
