Donald L. McElhinney, 60, of 2908 27th St. SW died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at his home of a heart attack. Services at 3 PM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Rev. Fran Griffeth will officiate. Inurnment at the Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Wed.
Survivors include his wife, Karen. He is also survived by two brothers in law, Bob Lewis and Loyal Adams, six nieces, Julie Ohlheiser, Sherry Adams, Toni Lewis, Linda Hicks, Sherry DeFord and Becky Gombert. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Sandra Adams and a sister in law, Mona Lewis.
Don was born on March 25, 1944, the son of Donald and Clista Millspaugh McElhinney. He married Karen S. Hansen on Oct. 16, 1982 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Don was in golf course maintenance at St. Andrews for many years. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed time with his family and many friends. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Camp Courageous in Don's name.

Audrey H. Mallory
Born in Sorento, Illinois on August 16, 1929
Departed on June 30, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Audrey H. Mallory, 74, of 77 Fleetwood Rd NW, formerly of Springfield, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 30, 2004, in her home following a long illness. Services at 1 PM Monday at First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Timothy Carter will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the church after noon on Monday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband Robert, six daughters Virginia Collis and husband James of Citrus Springs, Florida, Brenda Creviston and husband Dean of Laplace, Illinois, Sheila Bullard and husband Larry of Valdosta, Georgia, Mary Uphoff of Casey, Illinois, Ann Roehrkasse and husband Donald of Cedar Rapids, and Phyllis Hill and husband Joe of Phoenix, Arizona, a son Roger Mallory and wife Janet of Maroa, Illinois, a sister Dorothy White of Centralia, Illinois, two brothers Frances Davis of Sorento, Illinois, and Ed Ziska of Roseau, Minnesota, twenty one grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
Audrey was born August 16, 1929 in Sorento, Illinois to George and Anna Nedbal Davis. She married Robert W. Mallory on November 1, 1948. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Audrey will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Iowa City Hospice.

Harold O. Mason
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on May 5, 1930
Departed on June 19, 2004. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Harold O. Mason, 74, of 201 Janice Drive NW, died suddenly at St. Luke's Hospital on Saturday, June 19, 2004. Services: 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel.

Survivors include a daughter Karen Rick Louk of Cedar Rapids and their daughters, Kara Mark Felber and great granddaughter Quinn, Kamber Jamie Boeckmann and great grandson Kade, and Katie Louk; two sons, James Mason of Bloomington, Indiana and his sons, A.J., Todd, and Grant Mason, and Martin Carin Mason of Shenandoah and their sons Brandon, Brock, and Lincoln Mason; two brothers Earl Alberta Mason of North English, Clyde Deci Mason of Shellsburg; a sister-in-law Pauline Mason of Shellsburg; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Louise Waller and her husband, Elmer; a brother Richard Mason; and a nephew Larry Waller.

Born May 5, 1930 in Cedar Rapids to Oscar and Bessie Sanders Mason, Harold graduated from Shellsburg High School. He worked as a plasterer and brick layer with Mason Brothers until 1964. He then worked for Cargill, retiring in 1992.

Harold was an artist who took great pride in his work. He was a respected and loved father and grandfather who was dedicated to his family.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Caroljean (Feiden) Olsen
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri on January 15, 1933
Departed on January 31, 2010. Resided in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Service: Saturday, February 20, 2010
Caroljean (Feiden) Olsen, 77, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010, following a long illness. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 20 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include sons, Steve Olsen (Jerri) of Cedar Rapids and Mark Olsen of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Kathy Thielen of Dubuque; grandchildren, Erin and Travis Olsen, Jensen and Martin Olsen, Rebekah, Sarah, Katelyn and Matthew Thielen; brother Robert Feiden (Janet) of West Des Moines; sister Nancy Newton (Wayne) of Blairstown; step-mother Evelyn Feiden of Shellsburg, step-brother William T. Dodd of Vinton; bother-in-law Robert Ballantyne of Charlotte, NC; and many nieces and nephews she cared dearly for.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and her parents.

Caroljean (Feiden) Olsen was born January 15, 1933, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Martin E. and Hazel M. (Bennett) Feiden. She grew up in the Midwest with the most of her life spent in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Franklin High School in January 1951. She attended one year at Carthage College. She was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. On Feb. 8, 1953, she married Arne Jensen Olsen at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. The majority of her business career was spent in retail. For many years, Carol worked at Armstrong’s Department Store. Thereafter, she owned and operated Carol’s Bridal Showcase in Marion. Her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She cherished the holidays and all functions where her family could gather together.

She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and knew her.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who cared for Carol during her illness.

Memorial contribution may be may be directed to the family, c/o Steve Olsen or to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa or the charity of your choice.

Survivors include his wife Sarah, daughter Louise Sellner and husband Ed of Marion, Son Richard Newman of Elephant Butte, New Mexico, two sisters Rose Pospisil and Clara Pospisil both of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, 6 grandchildren, Debbie, Susan, Shelley, Tammy, Tom, and Debra, and 4 great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Derek, Rachel, and Quinn. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers William and Charles, and two brothers in law, Joseph Bub Pospisil and Robert Pospisil.
Frank was born January 11, 1913 in Marion Township, Linn County, Iowa. He married Sarah E. Newman on June 26, 1955 in Iowa City. He worked in the Machine shop at Iowa Manufacturing for over 30 years. He served with the US Army during WW II, and was a member of Marion American Legion Post No 298.

Helene Elizabeth Ottsen
Born in Postville, IA on August 10, 1912

Helene Elizabeth Louise Ottsen, 96, of Cottage Grove Place, died Wednesday October 29, 2008 in St. Luke’s Hospital following a brief illness. A service of memory will be held on Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church, with visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. David Ottsen will officiate. A reception will follow at Cottage Grove Place in the Oak Room. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Born August 10, 1912 to C. Fred and Emma Eggert Meier in Postville, Iowa. She graduated from Postville High School in 1930 and graduated from Coe Colleage in 1934 magna cum laude. She married Kenneth B. Ottsen in Cedar Rapids on September 12, 1936. At Coe College, Helene was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Crescent and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. She and Ken were founding members of St. Michaels (now Christ Episcopal Church) where she was a member of the Sacristan and Alter Guild and was a Sunday school teacher. Helene was a member of the Home Garden Club, IF Chapter of PEO and enjoyed playing bridge with friends for many years. She loved and enjoyed her family and friends immensely and gave unselfishly of herself to them at them at every opportunity.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan G. Thompson (Jack H. Jr.) of Dallas, Texas, Karen L. Gardiner (Donald B.) of Columbus, Ohio, Deborah Brunel (Jean L.P.) of Bonita Springs, Florida, a son, Richard Ottsen (Susan) of Baton Rouge, LA, eleven grandchildren, Chris Thompson of Dallas, Texas, Carolyn Thompson Goelzer (Paul) of Dallas, Texas, Michael Gardiner (Wendy) of Chicago, Illinois, Scott Gardiner (Christy) of Columbus, Ohio, Wendy Gardiner Massarelli (John) of Leesburg, Virginia, Karen Brunel Lafargue (Mathieu) Bordeaux, France, Pierre Brunel, San Francisco, California, Thierry Brunel (Kelly) Washington DC. Emmanuelle Brunel of Edina, Minnesota, Peter Ottsen and Kevin Ottsen of Baton Rouge, LA; great grandchildren, Bryan, Kyle and Sarah Gardiner of Columbus, Ohio, Morgan, Abigail and Nicholas Massarelli of Cincinnati, Ohio, Elizabeth and Sophie of Goelzer of Dallas, Texas, nieces; Mary Searls, Carol Eberling, Sandra Davis, nephews; Charles Eberling, Ron Ottsen and David Ottsen.
