Ruth Marie Wagner, 85, of 402 22nd Street NW, died at Living Center West on Saturday, March 15, 2008, after an extended illness. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Parker Knoll and Rev. Mark Gefaller. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. A visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Memories.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; two daughters, Robin Wagner of Cedar Rapids and Renee Lowell Petzoldt of Napoleon, OH; two grandchildren, Blake and Courtney; a sister, Norma Winkleman of Mequon, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and twin sons, Richard and Robert; a brother, Harold; and a sister, Gerda.

Ruth was born on April 29, 1922 in Wausau, WI, the second child of Herman and Marie Senft Schaars. The family moved to Milwaukee where she attended Lutheran High Schools and later, Valpo. She married Richard Wagner on September 30, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI. She worked principally as a secretary and bookkeeper where her last employment was with Our Saviors Lutheran Church, serving for 0ver 20 years. She loved music and at one time played the piano, violin, and trumpet. She sang in many choirs and musical organizations. Her family and church were her most influential things in her life.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Luke's Hospice, Milestones, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church Music Fund in Mt. Vernon.

The family would like to extend special thanks to St. Luke's Hospice, Living Center West, and Mackenzie Garner.

John Henry Wright
Born on October 28, 1938

John Henry Wright, 69, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital of a massive heart attack. Services: 1:00 P.M. Monday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. The Rev. Lonnie J. Jordan III will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday from 3PM to 6PM, and at the church on Monday from 12PM to 1PM.
Surviving in addition to his wife Meinard are a son, John L. Wright of Severn, Maryland; two grandson's, Jayelle Wright and Dawayne Medley both of Severn, Maryland; five great grandchildren; seven brothers, Willie B. Hodges, Hartman Wilkins Dorothy, Sir Ezell Wilkins Erla, The Rev. Dr. Michael Wilkins Delcine, Frederick Wilkins, Mario Wilkins and Darnell Wilkins; five sisters, Georgia Austin, Rose Studway Willie C., Debra Matthews Nathan, Toledo Hart William and Annette Franklin; and he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ernest Wilkins, Carlos Wilkins, Lorenzo Wilkins and Duane Wilkins; and a sister, Ruby Hodges.
John was born October 25, 1938 in Holmes County, Mississippi the son of Henrietta Wright and Ernest Wilkins. His 45 year marriage to Meinard C. Backstrom began on January 26, 1963 in Cedar Rapids. John was a finish spray painter at Cedar Rapids Terex Company from 1966 until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, the men's chorus at Mt. Zion and the Machinist Union-Harmony Lodge #831. John loved to go fishing with his family and recently got his lifetime fishing license. He believed in working and was involved with both small and large projects. It was very rare for him to be sitting and relaxing or even more rare to see him taking a nap. He loved video taping events and making DVD's. He enjoyed traveling, which include places like Europe, Hawaii and the Caribbean. He was something of a carpenter, redoing the kitchen at home and installing the wood floors. John was an honest, considerate and compassionate man. Slow to anger and very even tempered. He was a devoted Christian and lived a Christian life. John will be greatly missed by his loving wife and family. This is an understatement.

Donald R. Warren
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on April 19, 1929
Departed on June 9, 2008. Resided in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Donald R. Warren 79, of 4400 White Pine Dr. NE, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Service at 3 PM Friday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer and Rev. Carol Sundberg of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment with military honors in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday and at the chapel after 2:30 PM on Friday.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Colleen, two sons Brett of Dallas, Texas, and Scott and wife Carol of Johnston, Iowa, his sister Betty O'Brien of Cedar Rapids, brother David and wife Luanne of Winfield, Kansas, brother in law Ronald Tarrant of Turon, Kansas, two granddaughters Erica and Sarah, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother M. Robert Warren.

Donald was born April 19, 1929 in Cedar Rapids to Merb and Mabel Crosen Warren. He Married Colleen Tarrant on December 23, 1951 in Stafford, Kansas. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. He taught business education at Washington High School and Kennedy High School retiring in 1992 after 35 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, a member of the Kennedy Teachers Hall of Fame, and a board member of the Linn Area Credit Union for many years serving as chairman of the auditing committee. He enjoyed photography and reading, He was an avid golfer and handyman, and especially enjoyed family activities.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Estelle Louise Worcester

Estelle L. Worcester, 87, of Marion went peacefully to the loving arms of the Lord, surrounded by family, Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Services: 1:30 P.M. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Marion. The Rev. Howard Chapman will officiate. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday from 4PM to 6PM, and at the church after 12:30 P.M. on Monday. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park cemetery.
Stell is survived by four sons, Peter Worcester Linda of Hanover, IN, David Worcester Therese of Frederick, MD, Stephen Worcester Joy of Golden, CO and Richard Worcester Jan of Anamosa; a daughter, Julie Kuhle Roger of Indianola; 10 grandchildren, Austin, Kirsten, Charles, Melissa, Mike, Ben, Anna, Mark, Kelsey, Noah; five step-grandchildren, Kerry, Jason, Matthew, Holly and Johnny; several loved great grandchildren; three brothers, Larry White, Dick White and John White; two sisters, Dorothy Menalis and Mary Oravetz; and a sister-in-law, Ann Worcester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles "Chuck" in 1961; a thirteen-month old daughter, Jean Louise; and her brother, William White.
Stell was born April 25, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of Eugene and Jessie Flanagan White. She married Charles Worcester on August 5, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN. Stell had retired from Iowa Electric Light and Power. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion, Kappa Delta Sorority at the University of Minnesota, the Marion Churches Senior Living Community Foundation Board, Tuesday's Study Club, Theresteriai, and Stephen Ministries. Stell was a loving mother and grandmother, and was devoted to her family.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Churche or to the Marion Churches Senior Living Community Foundation.

Lorraine E. Woodson
Born in Winthrop, Iowa on April 19, 1912

Lorraine E. Woodson 96, of Cottage Grove Place, died there Thursday, July 10, 2008, following a short illness. Services will be held at 1 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Dr. Herbert Isenberg of Westminster Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday and at the chapel after noon on Monday.

Survivors include a son James and wife Harlene, and a daughter Judy Hulke and husband Lyle all of Cedar Rapids, ten grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Kay Bowers, two brothers and two sisters.

Lorraine was born April 19, 1912 in Winthrop, Iowa to Fred and Lottie Moore Sheeley. She married Howard Woodson on March 15, 1933 in Galena, Illinois. Howard died in 1981. She was a secretary at Rockwell-Collins for several years, and a long time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Westminster Presbyterian Church, or to Camp Courageous of Iowa.

The lovely and talented Tina M. Wessels, age 38, ended her 3 year battle with lung and brain cancer at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at her home in Sun Prairie, WI surrounded by her loving family. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Saturday. Inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. She was born on January 11, 1970 in Cedar Rapids, Ia., the daughter of Sharon Casteel. She married Jason Wessels on Oct 15, 1994 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City, Ia. Tina was a devoted and caring mother, wife, daughter and friend that had a passion for enjoying life to the fullest. Her hobbies included decorating her home, photography, jewelry making, napping and traveling. Tina spent her last 3 years doing exactly what she wanted, making a wonderful home for her family and spending time with her friends. She will always be remembered for her positive outlook on life, even at the most difficult times in her battle with cancer she could find a reason to smile. Tina was a 1988 graduate of Jefferson High School. She attended the University of Iowa, where she met Jason, graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Professionally, Tina was a highly talented marketing manager in the engineering field working with the Howard R. Green Co. from 1994 to 1999 and then with Baird and Associates in Fitchburg, WI until 2005. Before retiring from her professional life, she enjoyed a short stint as a sales executive with DHL shipping. She is survived by her husband and 3 sons; Andrew 12, Harrison 10 and Benjamin 9 all at home; her uncle Dave and aunt Kim Casteel of Cedar Rapids, IA.; her in-laws Wayne and Sue Wessels of Middleton, WI, Bill and Cassie Wessels, niece Madeline, nephews Greyson and Samuel of Cedar Rapids, IA., Brad and Brandy Wessels, niece Sierra of Bena, MN. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Casteel and her grandparents Leonard and Bernita Casteel. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to memorial funds that are being established.
