Lena Schrock

ARCOLA - Lena F. Schrock, 72, of Arcola, died at 9:03
a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 1, 2001) at Decatur Memorial
Hospital.

The funeral will be 9 a.m. Saturday at the Schrock
residence, 456 N. CR. 325 E., Arcola, with Bishop Jake
Stutzman officiating. Burial will be in the Miller cemetery,
rural Arthur. Visitation will be anytime prior to the funeral
at the Schrock residence. Edwards Funeral Home, Arcola,
is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born Oct. 26, 1928, in Tuscola, the daughter of
Fred D. and Mary A. Yoder Schlabach. She married Ben
N. Schrock in 1958; he survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Lewis Schrock of Arcola,
Harvey Schrock of Arthur, Marvin Schrock of
Worthington, Ind., and Freddie Schrock of Arcola; two
daughters, Mary Schrock of Arcola and Verda Schrock of
Arcola; five brothers, Lewis Schlabach of Sullivan, and
Willard, Daniel, Eli and Harley Schlabach, all of Arthur;
four sisters, Abbie Beachy of Newaygo, Mich., Sadie
Plank of Arcola, Annie Otto of Arthur and Fannie
Schlabach of Arthur; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Mrs. Schrock was a member of the Old Order Amish.

Bonita Jo Sego

MATTOON - Bonita Jo Sego passed away at the Odd
Fellow-Rebekah Home on July 31, 2001 at 5:05 a.m. She
was 46 years old.

The funeral services will be held Friday, August 3, 2001 at
the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home in Mattoon. Reverend
Robert Clark will be officiating. Visitation will be prior to
the service on Friday from Noon to 2:00 p.m. Interment
will be in the Cartright Cemetery, 4 miles west of Tuscola.

Bonita was born September 8, 1954 in Mattoon, the
daughter of Charles R. and Mabel L. (Davis) Roderick.
She married Denver Sego, he survives.

She leaves a son, Christopher Shane Roderick of
Clearwater, Florida; one brother, Frederick Howard
Roderick of Mattoon; and one sister, Della Roxanne Smith
of Trilla. She was preceded in death by her grandparents,
her mother and one brother.

Bonita was formerly a waitress at the Ramada Inn in
Mattoon. She was also formerly a Certified Nurses Aide.
She was an avid horse lover and a member of the
Horseman's Benevolent Protective Association.

Maurice Spanhook

ARCOLA - Maurice F. Spanhook, 83, of Arcola, died at
9:03 a.m. Tuesday (July 31, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln
Health Center in Mattoon.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Edwards
Funeral Home in Arcola with Father Joseph Allen
officiating. Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral
home.

He was born Dec. 27, 1917, in Cadwell, the son of Fred
and Irene Haney Spanhook. He married Louise Reimer in
1954; she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Steve Spanhook of Fox
Harbor and Tim Spanhook of Champaign; one daughter,
Denise Spanhook of Moore, Okla.; one sister, Phyllis
Bergfield of Arcola; five grandchildren; two
step-grandchildren; and great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son and one brother.

Mr. Spanhook retired from USI in 1980 after several years
of service.

Isabell Wilson

MARSHALL - Isabell Lucille Myles Wilson, 93, of
Marshall, died at 7 p.m. Sunday (July 29, 2001) at
Burnsides Nursing Home in Marshall.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Prust-Hosch
Funeral Chapel in West Union, with Billie Ray Ulrey
officiating. Burial will be in Darwin Cemetery, north of
West Union. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday and
from 7 a.m. Friday until service time at the funeral chapel.

She was born Nov. 14, 1907, in Clark County, a daughter
of Nicholas Richard and Lillie May Collier Myles. She
married Clarence Otto Wilson in 1923; he died in 1991.

Survivors include one daughter, Juanita Hutchens of rural
Martinsville; four grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, one daughter,
three brothers, one sister and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker. She was a member of the
United Methodist Church in Clinton, Ind., later she
attended Zion United Methodist Church and was a
member of the Clark County Home Extension, Zion Unit.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or
the Darwin Cemetery.

Harold Tuttle

HINDSBORO - Harold Tuttle, 77, of Hindsboro died at
1:32 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 26, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln
Health Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Edward's Funeral Home
in Arcola.

Opal Coleman

VILLA GROVE - Opal M. Coleman, 98, of Villa Grove,
died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 23, 2001) at the
Nightingale Manor in Tuscola.

A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. today at the
Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston. There will be no
visitation. Joines Funeral Home in Villa Grove is in charge
of the arrangements.

She was born Jan. 25, 1903, in Charleston, the daughter of
James F. and Flora May Scott Lang. She married Bert C.
Coleman in 1921; he died in 1993.

Survivors include one nephew, Dan Coleman of Bethany.

Mrs. Coleman was a member of the Villa Grove Baptist
Church.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Imagean Hadley

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Imagean Hadley, 75, of Prairie
Creek Township, Ind., formerly of Casey, died at 10:48
a.m. Friday (Aug. 24, 2001) at her home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Greenwell Funeral
Home, Martinsville, with Ernest Rumple officiating.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home. Cremation will follow services.

She was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Ross Township, Edgar
County, the daughter of Fredrick James and Bessie Jane
(Nolan) Collins. She married J. Ralph Hadley in 1950; he
died in 1993.

Survivors include one son, James Hadley of Woodridge;
three daughters, Illona Rauwolf of Bettendorf, Iowa,
Marilyn Mercer of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Jeanette
Hadley of Terre Haute, Ind.; two brothers, Johnathan
Collins of Indianolia and David Collins of Illinois; four
sisters, Florence Bell of Danville, Martha Rumple of Paris,
Evangeline Warren of Georgetown and Catherine Frazier
of St. Joseph; and 10 grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and two
sisters.

Mrs. Hadley was a homemaker and a member of the
Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day
Saints.

Marie Matilda Mann

Marie Matilda Mann, age 81, formerly of Mattoon and
Pinckneyville, IL, died Wednesday, August 22, 2001 in the
John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek, CA.

Marie was born in Pinckneyville, on January 1, 1920, a
daughter of Frank and Ida (Feik) Wesseln. She married
James Joseph Mann on December 29, 1941 in St. Bruno
Catholic Church, Pinckneyville and he preceded her in
death on January 15, 1999. She was a member of the
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mattoon, a
member of their Altar/Rosary Society and Quilter's Club.
Marie had worked for many years in the garment industry
and was a member of the I. L. G. W. U.

Survivors include two sons: James Joseph Mann, Jr., and
wife, Trudy, of Alamo, CA, and David G. Mann, and wife,
Ursula, of Henderson, NV, one daughter: Kathleen
McLane, and husband, Michael, of Neshanic Station, NJ,
two grandchildren: Ian McLane of Reno, NV and Megan
McLane of Neshanic Station, NJ, two brothers: John H.
Wesseln, and wife, Dorothy, of Pinckneyville, James
Wesseln and wife, Barbara, of Crest Hill, IL, four sisters:
Irene Loos, Agnes Miller, and Clara M. Wesseln, all of
Pinckneyville, Ida Wesseln of Visalia, CA. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother:
Robert Wesseln, three sisters: Mildred McDonald, Edna
Wesseln, and Florence Wesseln.

Funeral services will be held on, August 27, 2001 at 10:00
a.m. in St. Bruno Catholic Church, in Pinckneyville, with
Fr. Trevor Murry officiating. Interment will be in St.
Bruno Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call at the St. Bruno Catholic Church on
Sunday, August 26, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and
on Monday from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. A rosary will be
recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Pyatt-Harrawood
Funeral Home, in Pinckneyville, is in charge of
arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer#'s
Research Assoc.

Walter Myers

ATWOOD - Walter Eugene "Minne" Myers, 74, of
Atwood, died at 1 a.m. Friday (Aug. 24, 2001) at his
residence.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Edwards Funeral
Home in Arcola with the Rev. Kenneth Kramer officiating.
Burial with military rites by the Arthur American Legion
and the Arthur VFW will be in the Arthur Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born July 27, 1927, in Humboldt, the son of
Wilbur H. and Inez Reba Williamson Myers. He married
Delores A. Fifer in 1951; she survives.

Other survivors include one son, Rick Myers of Atwood;
one daughter, Patty Crowe of Lovington; five
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one
sister.

Mr. Myers was an Army Air Corp veteran of World War
II. He was a mechanic at Aschermann Ford in Arthur for
10 years, worked at Progress Industries as a truck driver,
and later worked at Schrock Cabinet Factory as a truck
driver until his retirement in 1992. After retiring, he
owned and operated a milk route in the Arthur area until
1996.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society
or donor's choice.

Frederick William Shrader

ARCOLA, ILLINOIS - Frederick William Shrader, 88, of
Arcola, died at 12:15 PM Friday, Aug. 24, 2001 at the
Arthur Home in Arthur.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Monday,
Aug. 27, 2001 at the Arcola United Methodist Church, 121
S. Locust Street, Arcola, with Rev. Margaret Misal and
Rev. Michael Johnson as officiants. Burial will be in the
Arcola Cemetery with military rites by the Arcola VFW.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:30 PM Sunday at
Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola

Fred was born Oct. 4,1912 in Humboldt, a son of Fred W.
and Clara Mull Shrader. He married Helen E. Hoots in
Arcola on June 30, 1936. She preceded him in death on
Feb. 21, 1977. He then married June Fleming in Arthur on
Feb. 25, 1978. She survives.

Besides his wife, June Shrader, of Arthur, he is survived
by one son, Stephen F. Shrader of Arcola; one daughter,
Suzanne Quiggle of Bath, Illinois; 2 stepdaughters, Pam
Korte of Covington, Indiana; Patrice Fleming of Houston,
Texas; 6 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 7 great
grandchildren; 2 nieces, JoElaine Greene of Chesterfield,
Missouri; and Marsha Hill of Fullerton, California. He was
preceded in death by 3 daughters, 1 brother, and 3 sisters.

Fred graduated from Arcola High School in 1931 where he
was valedictorian of his class and a gifted athlete in
football and basketball. He attended Worsham's Mortuary
School in Chicago and returned to Arcola to continue the
funeral business of the late J.B. McCann, whom he had
worked as a clerk for 3 years prior to this. He owned and
operated the Shrader Funeral Home and Shrader
Ambulance Service in Arcola for over 50 years.

He was a member of the Arcola Volunteer Fire
Department for many years, a lifetime member of the
Arcola AF&AM Masonic Lodge 366, Arcola VFW, and a
member of the Arcola United Methodist Church. He
served on the Arcola School Board for 2 terms and was
instrumental in forming the Citizens Advisory Council,
which is still active today. He was honored as a Grand
Marshall at the Broomcorn Festival in 1991. He was an
avid golfer, bridge player, and loved to dance.

Fred was inducted into the Army in 1943, where he served
in Europe as a surgical technician during World War II.

Memorials are suggested to the Arcola United Methodist
Church or the Arthur Home.
