Nellie M. Settlemoir nee Sisk, 70, of Columbia, died November 21, 2005, in Columbia. She was born July 12, 1926, in Weaver, the daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie Sisk nee Thorn. She was married to the late Charles W. Settlemoir. She is survived by her daughter Janice (Ronald) Labuda of Waterloo; grandson Gregory (Katie) Labuda of Yorkville; sisters Lorraine Lassiter of Metropolis and Rithel Massie of Salem; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Ruth Kloeppel and Virginia Mason. Mrs. Settlemoir was retired from Famous-Barr in South County. Visitation and funeral services were at Lawlor Funeral Home, William Groennert officiating. She is interred at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

William G. Broadhurst Sr., 67, of Waterloo, formerly of Red Bud and Belleville, died November 23, 2005, in St. Louis. He was born December 18, 1937, in East St. Louis, the son of Joyce M. Broadhurst nee Bounds of Belleville and the late George J. Broadhurst. He was married to Connie Broadhurst nee Hanratty. He is survived by his mother; wife; children Sherrie Broadhurst of Belleville, Teri (Jerry) McTeer of Loveland, Colo., William G. Broadhurst Jr., of Belleville, Janis (Don) Bray of Linwood, Kan., Julie (Dennis) Schult of St. Libory, Brian Schilling of Columbia, and Lori (Dan Thies) Schilling of University City, Mo.; grandchildren Elizabeth Broadhurst, Kristen (Nathan) Thompson, Jerry McTeer, Billy Broadhurst, Danielle bray, Nikki (JV) Van Horn and Jennifer Bailey; great-grandchildren Anna Bailey and Kaylynn Thompson; brothers Rick (Ann) Broadhurst of Carbondale and Randal (Nancy) Broadhurst of Sacramento; sisters-in-law Sandra Broadhurst of Houston, Tex., and Carol (Thomas) Wilson of Dacula, Ga.; step-sister Marsha (Larry) Anderson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; step-brother Thomas (Sandy) Best of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; friends Gall Broadhurst of Belleville, John Schilling of Waterloo, and Paul Achs of Travarnes, Fla.; dog Murphy; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and brother Gerald Broadhurst. Mr. Broadhurst was a retired pressman for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and the owner of Kleen Sweep Cleaning Service in Waterloo. He was a member of Pressmen Union Local 38N, for which he served as vice-chairman; he was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia, Pastor Steven Thiess officiating. He is buried at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Columbia.

Barbara Maschmeyer nee Wyland, 65, of Waterloo, died November 25, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born August 12, 1940, in New York, N.Y., the daughter of the late Hugh and Helen Wyland nee Kovalevich. She married Carl E. Maschmeyer in 1959. She is survived by her husband; son Carl F. (Cynthia) Maschmeyer of Festus, Mo.; grandchildren Helen Maschmeyer, Carl E. M. Maschmeyer, Stephan Rutledge, Sarah Rutledge, Samantha Rutledge and Joseph Ruteledge; brother Richard Wyland; sisters Susan White and Pamela Osterland; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Erica Rutledge. Mr. Maschmeyer was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Rev. Steven Theiss officiating. She is buried at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia.

Edna M. Schmidt nee Glaenzer, 86, of Columbia, died November 25, 2005, in St. Louis. She was born December 21, 1918, in Columbia, the daughter of the late John and Sophia Glaenzer nee Diehl. She was married to the late Raymond G. Schmidt. She is survived by her son Harold (Penny) Schmidt of Columbia; grandchildren Chuck, Steve and Sarah; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother George Glaenzer. Mrs. Glaenzer was a member of Christ Community Church in Columbia. She was retired from Famous-Barr in St. Louis and sold fresh local produce in Columbia for many years. Visitation and funeral services were at Lawlor Funeral Home in Columbia, Pastor William Groennert officiating. She is buried at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia. Memorials may be made to Hoyleton Children’s Home Foundation.

Ronald W. Rubemeyer, 67, of Waterloo, died November 26, 2005, in St. Louis. He was born March 2, 1938, in Valmeyer, the son of the late Henry C. and Viola Rubemeyer nee Schallom. He was married to Delores Rubemeyer nee Dehne. He is survived by his wife; children Laura Mehard of St Louis, Christy Langhorst of Waterloo, Mitchell (Dawn) Rubemeyer of Waterloo, and Tracey (Brian) Luhr of Waterloo; grandchildren Carrie, Lauren, Carli, LeAnne, Cameron, Alexander, Kyle and Chase; sister Mary Ann (Tony) Giglotto of Waterloo; brother Roger (Lori) Rubemeyer of Freeburg; sister- and brother-in-law Alvera and Vernon Jacobs of Waterloo; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Rubemeyer was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was a member of the Waterloo Lion’s Club, Odd Fellows and Columbia R/C Club. He was retired from Peabody Coal Co. and worked part-time at Annbriar Golf Course. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral mass was at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Msgr. Thomas Flach officiating. He is buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Waterloo Lions or Waterloo Odd Fellows.

Cynthia E. Kelly nee Quint, 45, of Waterloo, died November 27, 2005, in Waterloo. She was born July 24, 1960, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of James William and Martha Quint nee Schaaf of Kansas City. She married Brian P. Kelly in 1983. She is survived by her parents, husband, brother James William (Pam) Quint II of Blue Springs, Mo., and other relatives and friends. Mrs. Kelly attended Bethany United Methodist Church and was a Stephen Minister. She was an inspiration to all through her 15-year battle with cancer. A memorial service was held at Bethany United Methodist Church, Pastor Jim Claycomb officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Emerson J. Campbell, 89, of Waterloo, formerly of Valmeyer, died November 29, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born July 15, 1916, in Avis, Penn., the son of the late Jeremiah and Ellen Campbell nee Hewitt. He was married to Edith Pottoff Campbell nee Heyl. He is survived by his wife; children Judy (John) Wirth of Avis, Penn., Thomas Campbell of Lone Pine, Calif., and James (Beth) Campbell of Sunnyvale, Calif.; step-children William J. Pottoff of Boulder, Colo., and Nancy Pottoff (Mike) Weil of Boulder, Colo.; grandsons John Douglas Wirth, Michael Emerson Campbell, and Joseph Daniel Campbell; step-grandsons Pete Pottoff Weil, John Pottoff Weil and William Emerson Pottoff; great-grandchildren Rachael Wirth and Hayden Campbell; step-great-grandchildren Kristopher Runner and Jamie Runner Schilling; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Manill Campbell nee Klein, four brothers and four sisters. Mr. Campbell was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer. HE was also a member of the American Legion in Valmeyer and Ainad Temple. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer, Pastor David Riebeling officiating. He is buried at St. John Cemetery in Valmeyer. Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer or victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Edward “Jerry” G. Miederhoff, 55, of Reston, Va., died November 30, 2005, in Virginia. He was born June 4, 1950, in St. Louis, the son of the late John T. and Anna Miederhoff nee Murray. He is survived by his sister Mary “Kay” Voracek of Waterloo; brothers John (Judy) Miederhoff of Hawk Point, Mo., and William (Lucinda) Miederhoff of Hazelwood, Mo.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation and funeral services were at DaFabio Funeral Home, Msgr. Thomas Flach officiating. He is buried at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Waterloo.

Carl J. Mills, 54, of Columbia, died October 4, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born December 30, 1950, in St. Louis, the son of Raymond Mills of Jefferson City, Mo., and the late Corrine Mills nee Goellner. He was married to Ruth Mills nee Madden. He is survived by his father; wife; brothers Steven Mills of Ironton, Mo., and John (Pam) Mills of Cahokia; sister Jane Mills of Round Rock, Tex.; and an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant sister. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating. He is buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo.

Erin Marie Gegg nee Henneke, 27, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., formerly of New Athens, died October 6, 2005, in New Athens. She was born February 3, 1978, in New Athens, the daughter of Lyle and Brenda Henneke nee Evans. She was married to Russell Gegg. She is survived by her parents; husband; son Jakob Harrison Gegg; brother Scott (Jennifer) Henneke of Waterloo; maternal grandparents Geneva Evans of O’Fallon and Charles Evans of Fairview Heights; paternal grandmother Shirley Henneke of Auburn; and an aunt, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Russel Henneke. Mrs. Gegg was a member of Ste. Genevieve Congregation of Jehovah’s Wittnesses. Visitation and a funeral service were held at Quernheim Funeral Home, Ivan Bystroff officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or her son, Jakob Gegg.
