Garnet H. Popejoy, 94

Garnet H. Popejoy, 94, Lake Santee, died Monday, March 6, 2006 at the Decatur County Hospital in Greensburg.

Born, January 10, 1912 in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was the daughter of William and Lula (McNew) Hagerman.

She was a retired nurse.

She had worked for several years at the New Castle State Hospital.

She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She was married to Elmer L. Popejoy on January 10, 1953 and he survives.

She is survived by 1 son, Daniel (Sandra) Popejoy, St. Petersburg, Fl.; 2 daughters, Susan (Charles) Corbin, Horse Shoe, NC, Cynthia (Neil) Scott, St. Petersburg, Fl.; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, John "Jack" Hinshaw; 1 sister, Betty Tooley.

Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.

A prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Msgr. Harold Knueven officiating.

Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Decatur County Hospice.

Martha J. Luesse, 84

Martha J. Luesse, 84, of Wolcott, formerly of Batesville, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2006, at Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Louis Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Indiana Veterans at 3851 N. River Road, West Lafayette, Ind., 47906.

Brian H. Foster, 49

Mt. Vernon - Brian H. Foster, age 49, passed away at his home on February 5, 2005.

He was born November 18, 1956 in Greensburg, Indiana, the son of James Larry Foster and Jacqueline (Acra) Lister.

He was employed at GAF Corporation where he has worked for the past 20 years.

He enjoyed bass fishing and listening to music.

He especially loved being outdoors and spending time up north at the family cabin in Michigan.

He is survived by his wife Julie (Kissinger) Foster after 22 years of marriage, his two daughters Sarah and Sally Foster all of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, his father Larry Foster and his wife Ruth of Punta Gorda , Florida, his mother Jackie Lister and her husband Al Leibling of Chicago, Illinois, a brother Eric Lister of Chicago, Illinois, a half brother Vance Foster of Indianapolis, Indiana, two sisters Christy Reed of Colfax, California, Jennifer Chester of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a half sister Kim Pittman of Greensburg, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2005, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5812 North Ford Road, Mt. Vernon, Indiana.

Rev. Paul Seburg will officiate, burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, at Schneider Funeral Home 512 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, IN, and also from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel UCC Memorial Fund or the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Wilbur J. Senft, 78

Wilbur J. Senft, 78, Greensburg, In., died at 5:22 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2006 at the Decatur County Hospital in Greensburg.

Services are pending at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.

Irene E. Cullum 75

Irene E. Cullum 75, of Greensburg died Tuesday.

Born April 29, 1930 in Harve de Grace, Md., she was the daughter of the late Herbert T. and Alice Combs Singleton.

She worked at JC Hirschmans in Indianapolis for 11 years and Glen Eagle Sewing factory for several years.

She retired from Bata Shoe Factory in Maryland after 27 years.

She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Rushville and an avid bowler in the Rushville Bowl Mixed, Coffee, and Lady Bird leagues.

Survivors include Debbie (Jerry) Downey, Jr., of Greensburg and Melody (Chris) Maple of Rushville; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a son, Neville Cullum.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today in Todd Funeral Home in Rushville.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Donnie Yates officiating.

Entombment will be in East Hill Shrine Mausoleum in Rushville.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Roy W. Plymate Sr., 62

Roy W. Plymate Sr., 62, Fairland, died Monday.

Born April 22, 1943, he was the son of the late Francis W. Plymate and Catherine I. Anderson Roan.

He was the caretaker of Creekside Mobile Home Park after he retired from 33 years of service to the Shelby County Highway Department.

On Nov. 17, 1990 he married Donna R. Weintraut.

She survives, with sons Roy Plymate, Jr., of Shelbyville, Francis Plymate II of Fairland; daughters Lara (George “Woody”) Porter of Franklin, Michelle (Mark) Losey of Indianapolis; brothers, Russell (Katherine) Roan Jr. of Shelbyville, Verley (Shirley) Plymate of Fairland; sister, Edna Marie (Ray) Sweet of Greensburg; sister-in-law, Sherri Baumgardner of Union City; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by daughters, Cara Jean Plymate and Edna Marie Plymate and one grandson.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Freeman Family Funeral Home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Charles “Joe” Caplinger officiating.

Burial will take place at Fairland Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
