Brian Keith Hashman

Brian Keith Hashman, 39, of Commiskey, Indiana formerly of Columbus, Ohio passed away at 12:35 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana

Mr. Hashman was born on January 6, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of Thomas J. Hashman, Sr. and Edna L Ratcliff.

Mr. Hashman had formerly worked for Buelah Park Racetrack in Columbus, Ohio doing maintenance and track maintenance for 3 years. He attended Hillard High School in Hillard, Ohio, He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include one son, Brian K Hashman, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Jessica Dianne Hashman and Julie Hashman both of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Thomas J. Hashman, Jr. and John Wayne Stewart both of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Jessica Danford and her husband Jeff and Joetta Singleton and her husband James both of Commiskey, Indiana and Carolyn Stewart of Columbus, Ohio; one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert C. Stewart, Jr.

There are no services planned at this time. Local arrangements were entrusted in the care of the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.

Norma Colleen Cain

Norma Colleen Cain, 79, of Scipio, Indiana passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana.

Mrs. Cain was born on April 25, 1930 in Newburn, Indiana. She was the daughter of Floyd and Faye Weekly Shultz. She married Edwin Cain on July 10, 1948 in Carrollton, Kentucky. He survives.

Mrs. Cain was a housewife and homemaker. Her hobbies included quilting and reading.

Surviving with her husband are one son, Steve Cain and his wife Jean of Columbus, Indiana; one daughter, Gail Marshall and her husband Harvey of Columbus, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Cain of Edinburg, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brian, Nathan and Seth Cain and Amanda Bott all of Columbus, Indiana, Cory Cain of Seymour, Indiana and Rachel Cain of Edinburgh, Indiana; eight great-grandchildren, Nick, Lucy, and Hazel Cain all of Seymour, Indiana, Devon, Brice and Audrey Cain of Florida, Trinity Bott and Mark Cain of Columbus, Indiana; one sister, Pauline Best of Columbus, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mark Cain and one brother, Robert Shultz.

Per the Families request no services are planned at this time. Mrs. Cain's arrangements were entrusted in the care of the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana.

Pauline Josephine Clemons

Pauline J. Waller Clemons, 80, of Dupont, Indiana, passed away at 10:02 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Jennings Healthcare Center in Jennings County, Indiana.

Born October 3, 1928 in Jefferson County, IN, Pauline was the daughter of George and Bertha Giddings Chambers.

Pauline was employed at the Muscatatuck Developmental Center as an attendant until retirement. Before that, she worked at the Shoppers Fair in Columbus, IN, as a manager of customer service for many years. Her hobbies included fishing, crafting, reading, gardening, and being involved and active in her community.

Survivors include two sons - Rick Waller of Columbus, IN, and Randy Proctor of Dupont, IN; two daughters- Vicki (Marc) Scott of Dupont, IN, and Mickey Day of North Vernon, IN; 9 grandchildren- Hannah Waller-Marsh, Mariah Scott, Randall Proctor, Rachel Proctor, and Paula Durden, all of Dupont, IN, Matthew and Delana Day of North Vernon, IN, Ian Waller of Madison, IN, and Jenny Waller of Nashville, TN; 2 step-grandchildren- Josh Scott of Dupont, IN, and April Menning of Madison, IN; 5 great grandchildren- Chris Wiscaver, Lillian Waller, Skyler Cassidy, Isabella Deckard, and Haley Day; and 5 step great grandchildren- Trenton Scott, Lakyn Scott, Emma Grubbs, Elizabeth Pennick, and Elaina Menning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters- Opal Patton, Leota Dudley, Waunetta Jackson, Mildred Synder, and Bernice Culver; and an infant sister- Delva Joann Chambers.

Funeral Services for Pauline will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, IN, with Rev. Marvin Wright officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until funeral service time on Wednesday. Burial will be at the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont, IN.

Memorial may be made through the funeral home for family expenses.

Versie Spencer

Versie Spencer, 70, of Commiskey, Indiana passed away at 4:19 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mrs. Spencer was born on July 19, 1939 in Confluence, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Boyd and Oma Bowling Hamblin. She married James Spencer on December 20, 1970 in Mooresville, Indiana. He survives

Mrs. Spencer retired as a cook from Graham Creek Elementary School. She had previously worked as a cook at Kimberly Lakes in Commiskey, Indiana and Biffs Bakery and Restaurant in Mooresville, Indiana where she met James. Her hobbies were spending time with her family.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Jimmy Spencer of Seymour, Indiana and Charles Spencer of North Vernon, Indiana; two step-sons, Ronnie Spencer of Plainfield, Indiana and Steven Spencer of Indianapolis, Indiana; two daughters, Penny Hornaday of Mooresville, Indiana and Paula Bush of Commiskey, Indiana; one step-daughters, Joann of Indianapolis, Indiana; four brothers, John Hamblin of Martinsville, Indiana, Lawrence Hamblin of Worthington, Indiana, Yancie Hamblin of Brooklyn, New York and Ed Hamblin of Commiskey, Indiana; five sisters, Mary Maines of Mooresville, Indiana, Della Huff, Halie Colwell, Norma Beachman and Sadie Crouch all of Martinsville, Indiana; Eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Pearl and Arnold Hamblin.

Anna Marie Johns

Anna Marie Johns, 38, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday, September 09, 2009 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus, Indiana.

Ms. Johns was born on December 26, 1970 in Toledo, Ohio. She was the daughter of Donald and Vickie Todd Elliott.

Ms Johns attended Jennings County High School. Was a member of Butlerville Mennonite Church in Butlerville, Indiana and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in North Vernon, Indiana. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, fishing, reading and crocheting.

Surviving with her parents are one daughter, Stephanie Johns of Butlerville, Indiana; two brothers, Daniel Elliott and his wife Laura of Martinsville, Indiana, Steven Elliott of North Vernon, Indiana; grandmother, Laura Herringhauser of Houston, Texas; grandfather, Richard Elliott of Scottsburg, Indiana; six nieces and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Bertie Elliott and grandfather, Cletus Todd.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Butlerville Mennonite Church in Butlerville, Indiana with the Rev. Dale Boyd and Daniel M. Elliott officiating. Friends may call on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Butlerville Mennonite Church. Burial will be in the New Marion Cemetery in Ripley County, Indiana. Her arrangements were placed in the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon, Indiana.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International.

Elizabeth Ann Giles

Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Giles, 66, of Columbus, Indiana, formerly of Scipio, Indiana passed away at 11:25 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mrs. Giles was born on November 25, 1943 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of Frances Perkins Abner of Columbus, Indiana and the late James Abner. She married David Giles on October 26, 1968 in Columbus, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2000

Mrs. Giles worked for 10 years at the Carpenter Body Works Plant in North Vernon, Indiana. She attended Columbus High School, in Columbus, Indiana. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in North Vernon and Columbus, Indiana. Her hobbies included traveling, working with stain glass and family time.

Surviving with her Mother; are two sons, James Giles and his wife Ruth of North Vernon, Indiana, Mark Lawson and his wife Donna of Butlerville, Indiana; three daughters, Sondra Giles of Vernon, Indiana, Cynthia Sallee and her husband Garry of Scipio, Indiana and Beth Purnell and her husband Rich of Denver, Colorado; three brothers, Chilton Abner and his wife Donna of Seymour, Indiana, Jerry Abner and his wife Jean and James Abner and his wife Lisa both of Columbus, Indiana; one sister, Linda Kremer and her husband Gary of Greenfield, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Kelli and Marly Lawson both of Columbia, Kentucky, Destiny Lawson of Lexington, Kentucky, Rocco Purnell of Denver, Colorado, Trinity Giles of Vernon, Indiana, Cara Giles and Susan Olds and her husband Kevin both of North Vernon, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Emmy Montgomery both of Columbia, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husband David and grandson, Gilbert Giles-Perry.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ryan Goode officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorial may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the Donor's Choice of Charity.

Sandra K. Bowers-Hansel

Sandra K. Bowers-Hansel, 53, of Madison, Indiana formerly of Butlerville, Indiana passed away at 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana.

Ms. Bowers-Hansel was born on September 17, 1956, in Madison, Indiana. She was the daughter of Charles Edward Bowers and Elizabeth Viola Corya Hansel.

Ms. Bowers-Hansel was self employed and did odd and ends jobs around Jennings County. She was a 1975 graduate of Jennings County High School. She attended Ivy Tech College in Madison, Indiana. She was a member of Graham Baptist Church.

She is survived by a Aunt, Rebecca Buschmann of Willits, California; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-father Robert "Shorty" Hansel.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 11:00 on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Graham Baptist Cemetery in Jennings County, Indiana with the Rev. Butch Wooddell officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. till 10:45 a.m.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the Salvation Army.

Patrick Allen Fleming

Patrick Allen Fleming, 57, of Seymour, Indiana passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mr. Fleming was born on January 5, 1953 in Seymour, Indiana the son of Francis Lewis Fleming and Dorothy Mae Roberson Fleming Bowerly.

Mr. Fleming worked on the assembly line at Dorel in Columbus, Indiana for around 12 years. Prior to this he had worked for a year as a DST attendant at the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville, Indiana. He was a former Town Marshall for Vernon, Indiana. He served in the United States Army. His hobbies included NASCAR, Fishing and he enjoyed going to the boat. He was once a contestant on the Hoosier Millionaire.

Survivors include one son, Adam (Diana) Fleming of Budd Lake, New Jersey; step-mother, Barbara Fleming of Woodville, Alabama; two brothers, Michael "Chub" (Wilma) Fleming of Vernon, Indiana and T-bird Bowerly of Tennessee; six sisters, Jane Bear of Dupont, Indiana, Peggy Roberts of Butlerville, Indiana, Marsha (Ken) Burke of Windfall, Indiana, Phyllis (Richard) Holland of Woodville, Alabama, Lola (John) Post of Vernon, Indiana and Callie Anderson of North Vernon, Indiana; two grandchildren, Kaden and Xavier Fleming of Budd Lake, New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father, Thomas Bowerly; one brother, Gordon Bowerly, one nephew, Clinton Bear and a niece, Heather Holland.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery with members of Matt Hester Post #2021, Veterans of Foreign Wars providing Military graveside rites.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home for Funeral Expenses.
