Halbert Morgan Warren

Halbert Morgan Warren, 86, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 7:06 a.m. on January 13, 2010 at the Waters of Seymour in Seymour, Indiana.

Mr. Warren was born on May 9, 1923 in Gratz, Kentucky the son of Robert and Ruby Morgan Warren. He married Norma Jean Boyd on November 11, 1947 in Columbus, Indiana. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2005.

Mr. Warren worked in the maintenance department for Arvin's Industries in Columbus, Indiana for 45 years retiring in 1988. He attended Madison High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. During his time in the Army he was stationed in Alaska. His hobbies included watching television, reading mostly westerns and racing.

Survivors include, three sons, Gary Donnivan Warren of Columbus, Indiana, Michael Steven and Ricky Mark Warren both of Elizabethtown, Indiana; five grandchildren, Shelby Ann and Jason Andrew Warren both of Elizabethtown, Indiana, Joe, Brian and Crystal Dawn Warren all of Columbus, Indiana; two great-grandchildren Logan and Brett Warren both of Columbus, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, Robert Warren; one sister, Roberta Gallman; and great-grandson, Payton Warren.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Tea Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Dale Z. Baldridge

Dale Z. Baldridge, 60, of North Vernon, IN passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at IU Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN.

Mr. Baldridge was born September 8, 1949. Mr. Baldridge worked as a butcher for seven years at Sam's Club in Columbus, IN retiring in the fall of 2009. He enjoyed finding and collecting rocks and American Indian artifacts. He also loved the outdoors.

Mr. Baldridge was survived by his companion, Sharon Sutton of North Vernon, IN. A daughter of his companion, Billy Jo Synder of Florida.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, IN with Rev. Dick Burcham officiating. Friends may call from 1 pm until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made though Dove- Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to help with expenses.

Ernest Harold Holt, Sr.

Ernest Harold Holt, Sr., 67, of Versailles, Indiana passed away on Monday morning, January 11, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Holt was born on March 29, 1942 in Knifley, Kentucky the son of John Washington and Minnie Perkins Holt. He married Donna Mickel on February 12, 1960 in Shelbyville, Indiana. She survives.

Mr. Holt worked in the shipping and receiving department for Knauf Fiberglass in Shelbyville, Indiana for 33 ½ years retiring in 2001. He was a member of North Vernon Wesleyan Church. He attended school in Shelbyville, Indiana. His hobbies included fishing and visiting and talking with friends.

Surviving with his wife are five sons, Anthony (Connie) Holt, Sr. of Franklin, Indiana, John (Carol) Holt of Napoleon, Indiana, Michael, Robert and Ernest Holt, Jr. all of Versailles, Indiana; two daughters, Starla (Randy) Sell of Versailles, Indiana and Beth (Paul) Rumsey of Holton, Indiana; three brothers, Ira (Betty) Holt of Seymour, Indiana, Paul (Nancy) Holt of Shelbyville, Indiana and Alvie Holt of Flint, Michigan; one sister, Rachel Justice of Shelbyville, Indiana; eleven grandchildren, Malia Adams of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Kaloni, Sierra and Anthony Holt, Jr. all of Ohio, Angela and Liz Copeland of Versailles, Indiana, William and Patrick Rumsey of Holton, Indiana, Tyler and Amanda Holt of Franklin, Indiana and Matthew Holt of Napoleon, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Nora Holt of England and Daniel Adams of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lonzie Holt and two sisters, Agnes Hall and Nora Gibson.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the North Vernon Wesleyan Church in North Vernon, Indiana with the Rev's Jim Terry and Ira Holt officiating. Friends may call at the Wesleyan Church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill cemetery in Versailles, Indiana. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon, Indiana is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the North Vernon Wesleyan Church.

Charles Edward Hoagland

Charles Edward Hoagland, 63, of North Vernon, IN, passed away in Scott County at 7:10 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010.

Born April 28, 1946 in Louisville, KY, he was the son of Ruth Thacker Hoagland. He married Phyllis Evens on June 8, 1992 in North Vernon, IN. She survives.

Mr. Hoagland was a respiratory therapist at the Clark Memorial Hospital for the past 19 years. Before that he worked at the Jennings Hospital for 2 years from 1990-1992, Norton Hospital in Louisville, Scottsburg City and County Police Department and Austin City Police Department. He was a member of the Scottsburg Masonic Lodge #572 F&AM.; He served in the U.S. Army from November 10, 1969-November 1, 1971. He was a high school graduate from a local high school in Louisville, KY. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from California College in 1989. His hobbies include fishing, collecting coins, and he was a gun enthusiast.

Surviving with his wife are 3 sons- Kris Hoagland of Scottsburg, IN, Vince Mejia of Dubuque, Iowa, and Mike (Akiko) Minamoto of Tokyo, Japan; 1 Daughter- Kimberly (Scott) Emerich of Holiday, Florida; 1 sister- Kay (Bob) Phillips of Louisville, KY; 1 brother- Ulysses Hoagland; and 6 grandchildren- Lane Anderson of Carrollton, TX, Tyler Smedley of Gulf Shores, Alabama, Tyler Hoagland of Scottsburg, IN, Amanda Grant, Hunter Grant, and Joshua Emerich, all of Holiday, FL.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services for Mr. Hoagland will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Sweet officiating. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery following. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 and from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given through Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home to the St. Jude's Hospital.

Carolyn Sue Ritchie

Carolyn Sue Ritchie, 53, North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 5:57 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.

Mrs. Ritchie was born on May 11, 1956 in Jackson County, Indiana the daughter of Ruth Lainhart Neal and the late Houston Neal. She married Terry Lee Ritchie, Sr. on May 28, 1983 in Jefferson County, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2000.

Mrs. Ritchie worked for the past 15 years on the assembly line for Sylvania in Seymour, Indiana. She had previously worked as an inspector, from 1988 until 1994 for Hilex Poly in North Vernon, Indiana. She was a 1975 graduate of Jennings County High School. Her hobbies included spending time with her grandson Jacob, working on puzzles, painting pictures, reading and watching movies.

Surviving with her mother are one son, Terry Lee Ritchie, Jr. and his wife Stacey of North Vernon, Indiana; one daughter, April Ward and her husband, Joe of North Vernon, Indiana; a grandson, Jacob Ritchie of North Vernon, Indiana; two brothers, Gerald Neal and his companion Nancy Rhodes of North Vernon, Indiana, David Neal and his wife Barbara of Commiskey, Indiana; one sister Pamela Roark and her husband Tom of Commiskey, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her father and her husband.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Ramey officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to the American Diabetes Association.

Damien Jon Tolman, Jr

Damien Jon Tolman, Jr. 8 days old, of Seymour, Indiana passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Damien was born on December 29, 2009 in Columbus, Indiana the son of Damien Jon Tolman, Sr. of Seymour, Indiana and Katelyn Sublette of North Vernon, Indiana.

Surviving with his parents are grandparents, Patsy Mac Cormack of North Vernon, Indiana, Daryl (Lisa Shouse) Sublette of Greensburg, Indiana, Michelle and David Spear of Columbus, Indiana; great-grandparents, Leeta Koontz of Ruskin, Florida, Gerardo Chaves of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Sublette of Columbus, Indiana; sisters, Annabelle Tolman of Phoenix, Arizona, Jasmine Tolman and Haley Oldenburg both of Michigan, Alexis and Samantha Tolman both of Scipio, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Tolman.

Graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. Friends may call on Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home for expenses.

Jason Daniel Kahrs

Jason Daniel Kahrs, 36, of Seymour, Indiana passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana.

Mr. Kahrs was born on October 1, 1973 in Seymour, Indiana the son of William and Paula Harrison Kahrs.

Mr. Kahrs works as a Guitar Luthier for Music World in Seymour, Indiana for several years. He was a 1992 graduate of Jennings County High School. His hobbies included playing guitar, restoring cars and tractors.

Surviving with his parents are one brother, David Kahrs of North Vernon, Indiana; one sister, Janice Gilles and her husband David of North Vernon, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hayden Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Mercy Rescue.

Roy Wilson Webster

Roy Wilson Webster, 88, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2010 at his residence of 62 years in the Lovett Township of Jennings County, Indiana.

Mr. Webster was born on October 1, 1921 in Woodford County, Kentucky, the son of Claude and Ella Gross Webster. He married Lida Marie Baker on June 1, 1947 in Lovett Township in Jennings County, Indiana. She survives.

Mr. Webster retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1983 after 30 years of employment. After retirement he worked in his shop. He loved to weld and was called Mr. Fix It. Roy was on the advisory School Board in the early 60's for Lovett Township. He joined CCC, when he was seventeen. He drove a Huckster grocery truck and worked at Morgan Packing Company in Austin, Indiana. He worked as an assembler at Platter's Sewing and Furniture Shop, and as a breaker for the railroad from Indianapolis to Cincinnati. He worked as a track man for B&O; from Lovett to North Vernon, also on mufflers for Model A's and Model T's, Greens garage in Lovett, a welder on cross cut saws for NYCA in Butlerville, Indiana, on the construction crew at the Proving Ground framed and worked at Basca Manufacturing Company, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mr. Webster served in World War II in the United States Air Force. He was on Tinian Island and watched the Enola Gay take off with the first Atomic bomb on August 6, 1945. He was proud and honored to serve his country (God Bless America).

Mr. Webster was a member of Tea Creek Baptist Church in Lovett Township in Jennings County, Indiana.

Surviving with his wife of 62 years are one son, David Webster and his wife Lisa of Hope, Indiana; two daughters, Pamela Anderson and Sally Webster both of North Vernon, Indiana; one sister, Nadine Downey and her husband Don of New Port Richey, Florida; four grandchildren, Jason Anderson of Seattle, Washington, Chris Anderson of North Vernon, Indiana, Bethany and Haley Webster both of Hope, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Emile, Claude Jr., Vincent and Matt Webster.

Funeral Service will be held at 11: 00 a.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Tea Creek Baptist Church in Lovett Township in Jennings County, Indiana with the Rev. Brian Anderson officiating. Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Church. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery with member of Matt Hester Post #2021 providing Military graveside rites.

Memorials may be made through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home to Tea Creek Baptist Church.
