Danielle Renee Serrault and Donovan Denver Shawn Smith were married July 8, 2005 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salina. Rev. Jack Sweany from Great Bend officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are David and Debbie Serrault and Dennis and Margaret Smith, all of Great Bend. Grandparents of the bride are Calvin and Marian Kaudt and Betty Serrault all of Salina, the late Dennis H. Serrault and Howard and Vernelle Davis of Abilene. Grandparents of the groom are Eula Smith of Copeland and the late Elbert Smith and Alva and Neva Hite of Deerfield, Mo. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white two-piece Oleg Cassini satin A-line gown with an apron back. The bodice was a gold and silver metallic beaded embroidery. The tiara was gold with pearls and Swarovski crystals that was attached to a cathedrallength veil. She carried a bouquet of red intuition roses and baby’s breath, wrapped in white lace. Brooke Radke of McPherson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Claire Helm, sister of the bride, of Gypsum and Grace Freeman, cousin of the bride of Bennington. They wore Apple strapless A-line gowns. Bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets of red roses; the stems wrapped in white lace. Flower girls were Taylor and Lauren Radke, nieces of the bride. Best man was Chance Phillips of Denver, Colo. Groomsmen were Chris Pace of Wichita and Korey McCulley of Indianapolis, Ind. Ushers were Luke Serrault of Lawrence, brother of the bride; Eric Smith of Great Bend, brother of the groom; Joe Freeman of Bennington, cousin of the bride; and Robert Birney of Wichita, cousin of the groom. Candlelighters were Renie Smith of Lawrence, sister of the groom and Christy Smith of Great Bend, sister-in-law of the groom. Music was provided by the string quartet “The Blue Tie Affair” of Salina - Kellie Leary, viola; Adele Stein, cello; Kenya Gillespie, violin; and Landon Vinson, violin. The bride is a 2005 graduate of Great Bend High School. She is employed by Petco. The groom is a 2003 graduate of Great Bend High School. He is attending the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo. The couple makes their home in Golden.
