Lindsey DeWitt and Scott Ensley were married on Nov. 5, 2005 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. The Rev. Reggie Urban officiated the double-ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Lewis and Dennie DeWitt and Kevin and Tammy Ensley all of Great Bend. The bride’s honorary grandparents were her great aunt and uncle Keith and Lorraine Holmes of El Dorado. Grandparents of the couple are the late Dennis and Margie Short, the late Fred and Katie DeWitt, Gwen and Marvin Dreher of Great Bend, the late Marvin Strayer and Garland Ensley of Great Bend and the late Evalee Ensley. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a simple white, royal-satin, princess gown that had a banded neckline softly gathered in the center and was accented with clustered beadwork. A lace-up back led to a semi-cathedral train finished with flowing embroidery of flowers and leaves that sparkled with iridescent beading. The bride and bridesmaids all carried fall-colored stem-wrapped silk flowers. Jamie Lewis of Wichita served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Meranda Skolaut, niece of the bride, of Lincoln, Neb.; Rebecca Mong, niece of the bride, of Spearville; and Megan Levingston of Springfield, Mo. The bridesmaids wore gowns with burnt-orange one-piece empire bodices with beaded trim, bateau necklines and draped-V backs with full A-line skirts with back godets. Trae Ensley, brother of the groom, of Great Bend served as the best man. The groomsmen were John Gruber of Wichita, Nathan Fleming of Great Bend and Jake Pebley of Great Bend. Greta Skolaut, niece of the bride, of Clay Center, Neb., was the flower girl. Blake Skolaut, nephew of the bride, of Clay Center, Neb., was the ring bearer. Music was provided by Chris Short of Andover, cousin of the bride, vocalist, and Nathan Koch of Wichita, pianist. Ushers were Jeremy Cordre, nephew of the bride, of Salina; Ryan Cordre, nephew of the bride, of Great Bend; Garrett Ensley, brother of the groom, of Great Bend; and Jamie Hosfelt, cousin of the groom. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Great Bend High School and a 2005 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in human ecology (early childhood education). She is employed by Johnson County Community College as a pre-school teacher in Lenexa. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Great Bend High School and is employed by IBT in Merriam.
