Juanita Greenwell
Juanita Long Greenwell, 84, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at North Hardin Health and Rehab in Radcliff. She was a native of Hardin County, was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and worked for Kiddie Town for 25 years. She was a 1943 graduate of Rineyville High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Greenwell, a son, Michael Dale Greenwell , her parents, John and Minnie Buchanan Long, one brother, Earl W. Long, Sr. and a son-in-law, Frank Coyne. She is survived by one son, Darryl (Terri) Greenwell of Virginia Beach, VA, one daughter, Brenda Coyne of Rineyville, one sister, Louise (Leslie) Spires of Arcadia, FL, four grandchildren, Richard (Beverly) Coyne and Karen (Stacy) Hodge all of Rineyville, Ronald (Beth) Greenwell of Radcliff and Aaron Greenwell of Virginia Beach, 7 great grandsons, Christopher and Shane Coyne, Bryan and Kevin Hodge and Joshua, Garrett and Logan Greenwell. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wedneday at Brown Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Darland officiating. Burial will be in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

William Earl Miller
William Earl Miller, 87 of Elizabethtown, formerly of Louisville, passed away Friday, February, 19, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. A native of Breckinridge County, he was a member of Valley Station Baptist Church. He served in the Army and then retired from the Air Force in 1966. He served during World War II and the Korean War. After his retirement, he worked for GTE for six years and sold real estate. His passion was woodworking, carving and he obtained his 5th degree Black Belt at the age of 72. He was a member of the World Karate. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. H. and Lula Miller; two wives, Maurine "Boots" Lee Miller and Barbara Miller; three brothers, Walter Miller, Marvin Miller and Stanley T. Miller and a great nephew, Jeff Thomas. He is survived by his two nieces, Linda Miller (Nicky) Thomas of Elizabethtown and Shirley Miller (Bill) Beers of Maryland; a great nephew, Joe Thomas of Elizabethtown and a great niece, Linda Ramos of Maryland. Graveside services with full military honors will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cloverport cemetery with Rev. Arnold Moon officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and continue after 9 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home.

Robert Lee Greenwell
Robert Lee Greenwell, 76, of Rineyville, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Logan County, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Ridge Spring United Methodist Church. He was a Biology Teacher at West Hardin High School for 25 years and a Farmer. Most importantly, he was a family man. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Richard and Mattie Lee Cave Greenwell; one brother, Charles Richard (Ted) Greenwell, Jr. and a sister, Richie Lee Rich. He is survived by his wife, Joan Seraphine Greenwell; one daughter, Kelly Fulkerson of Rineyville; two sons, Glenn Greenwell of Rineyville and Dr. Eric (Dr. Cyndi Donovan) Greenwell of Nancy, KY; three sisters, Paul Ella Bogue of Elizabethtown, Mary Ruth Dearing of Shepherd, MI and Martha Brown of Glendale and one grandson, Tabb Fulkerson of Rineyville. A Memorial Service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Ridge Spring United Methodist Church with Bro. Ken Vowels officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the Ridge Spring United Methodist Church, P.O. BOX 29, Rineyville, KY 40162 or to Hosparus of Central Kentucky.

Arthur Hugh Gregory, III
Arthur H. Gregory, III, 66 of Elizabethtown, ended his courageous battle with cancer, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County and attended Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a board member of Hardin County Sportsman Lake. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and retired in 2009 from the Hardin County Water District no. 2. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur H. "Red" Gregory, Jr. and Frances Bertram Gregory. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Odle Gregory; one son, Arthur Hugh (Brooke) Gregory, IV of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Amy Gregory (Karl) Olive of Vine Grove; five sisters, Jane (Duke) Burnett, Betty (Cletus) Coats and Nina (Alan) Jones all of Elizabethtown, Frances Lynn Gregory and Janet Marie Gregory both of Louisville and five grandchildren, Haleigh Mariah Gregory, Kade William Olive, Ayden Hugh Gregory, Keagan Josef Olive and Atcher Hugh Gregory. The funeral will be Friday at 12 noon at E'town Christian Academy-Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 12 Friday at the Church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Caring Bridge at www.caringbridge.org or the American Cancer Society.

James Edwin Mercer
James Edwin Mercer, 94 of Elizabethtown, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Muhlenburg County and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was in the Comrad Sunday School Class. He retired from the U. S. Army, where he served in the 1st Armor Division F Troop at Ft. Knox and fought in Northern Africa, Italy and Germany. He also retired Ft. Knox Civil Service. After retiring from Civil Service, he worked for the State Transportation Department and was a former volunteer for Helping Hand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Owen and Jessie Lee Oats Mercer; two brothers, Shelly Mercer and Archie Wade; a sister, Mary Gladys Latham and two grandsons, Byron Pearl and J. D. Cruse. He is survived by his wife, Giula Woosley Mercer; two sons, James Phillip Mercer of Lebanon, TN and Robert Owen Mercer of Bolivar, MO; two daughters, Mary Pamela Carroll of Vine Grove and Lisa Kerri Cruse of Smyrna, TN; one brother, Edward L. Mercer of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Dawn Usher, Angie Matlock, Timothy Mercer, Amber Lacey, Heather Mercer, Addie Nitzschke and Abigail Cruse and nine great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Mercer officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from5 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Modena Hogg
Modena Walters Hogg, age 87, beloved widow of Bill Herbert Hogg, died peacefully on September 15, 2010. She was born February 15, 1923 to the late Oscar Berry Walters and Ethel Helton Walters and received undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Louisville. She served for 30 years as a teacher in the Elizabethtown and Hardin County schools and was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Hogg (Joe) Terry and Nancy Hogg (Taylor) Carter; four grandchildren, Griffin Terry (Greg) Sumner, Barrett (Sara) Christensen, Alex Terry, and Taylor Jones; one great-grandchild, Caroline Sumner; and one brother, Harley Walters. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James William Hogg, and a sister, Copie Walters King. Visitation will take place from 12:00-2:00 p.m.Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, to be followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Adult Senior Ministries at Severns Valley Baptist Church, Elizabethtown.

Madge Richardson Hughes
Madge Joyce Richardson Hughes, 82, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was born October 12, 1927 to the late Edger and Susie Richardson. She was a member of Summit United Methodist Church and retired from E'town Sportswear. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert L. Hughes, who died August 28, 2009; two brothers, Fred and Gayle Richardson and a grandchild, Bradley Mitchell. She is survived by two sons, Ed (Patricia) Hughes of Bonita Springs, FL and Dan (Laura) Hughes of Frankfort, two daughters, Donna (Larry) Mitchell of Elizabethtown and Deborah Vittitoe Boston of Louisville, seven grandchildren, Eric, Ronnie, Angela, Jeffrey, Tim, Christopher and Bradley and seven great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Don Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Summit Methodist Church cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m.Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may go to Summit United Methodist Church cemetery Fund.

William P. Tucker
William P. "Pat" Tucker, 62, of ELizabethtown, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at his residence. The Hardin County native was a Vietnam War Navy veteran, a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church and was Director of Operations for Long John Silvers Radcliff Co. in Louisville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hillary and Margaret L. Potter Tucker, by a daughter, Jennifer M. Tucker Brooks and by his step mother, Marie Charles Tucker. He is survived by his wife, Patricia K. "Patty" Griffey Tucker, by one son Hillary Patrick (Patty) Tucker of Georgetown, IN and a grandson, Patrick Kyler Tucker of Campbellsville. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Langley officiating. Burial, with Military honors, will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Leslie Lee Goodman
Leslie Lee Goodman, 68 of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at his home. He was a native of Hardin County and was a logger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Felix and Geneva Horn Goodman; two brothers, Virgil Lee and Richard Goodman and two sisters, Vanessa Fulkerson and Carolyn Jo Cooper. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Russell Goodman; three sons, Scotty Dalton of Indianapolis, Brian Goodman and Doug Goodman both of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Joe Goodman, Jr. of Elizabethtown and Marshall Goodman of Ocala, FL; three sisters, Elsie Johnson and Suzie Shaw both of Elizabethtown and Melissa Coogle of Cecilia; seven grandchildren, Trista, Travis, Brandon, Marshall, Dylan, Rhea and Leann and three great grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Elbert Peters officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

William Patrick Tucker

Mary Ann Crawley, 49 went home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2010. She was born on January 19, 1961 to Della F. and John L. Crawley. She attended E'town High School. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie Crawley and Donald Allen. She is survived by two sons, Jonathan Crawley and Cordero Crawley; one sister, Frances A. Prince; five brothers, Bobby (Sue) Crawley, George (Sharon) Perry, Wayne (Pamela) Mucker, Bobby Reno and Robert (Sharon) Perry and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. B. T. Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in E'town City cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday and continue after 12 noon on Monday at Brown Funeral Home.
