Frances Louise Ford
Frances Louise Jaggers Ford, 89, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Kensington Manor. The Hart County native was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church for over 55 years. She was a graduate of Upton High School where she was Salutatorian and she worked at one time for Kiddie Town. She was a great cook and loved being a grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thomas Ford, and her parents Marvin and Cora Perkins Jaggers. She is survived by one son, Dale Ford and his wife Christine of Elizabethtown, 5 grandchildren, Stacey Prater, David Alan Ford, Michael Andrew Ford, Karen Scheiba and Sarah Nichols and 8 great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Rachel Marchall and Rev. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation is 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jerry Randall Mills
Jerry R. Mills, 64, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. He is survived by 2 daughters Tammy Ward of Houston, TX and Susan Martin of Louisville, his mother, Lallia Mills of Elizabethtown, 1 brother, Barry Mills of Elizabethtown and 4 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home with Roger McCurry officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central in Radcliff. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Clyde Thomas Buckles
Clyde Thomas Buckles, 97, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at North Hardin Health and Rehab. in Radcliff. The Hardin County native was a lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #1455 in Elizabethtown. He worked at Ft. Knox Civil Service for the railroad and was a Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Sibyl Barry Buckles, a daughter, Marlene Jeanette Catlett, two sisters, Ruth Franklin and Myrtle Jump and his parents Charles C. and Sarah Josephine O'Brien Buckles. He is survived by a son, Dwight A. Buckles and Donna of Lexington, a daughter, Brenda Routt and Ronnie of Lexington, a son in law, David Catlett of Elizabethtown, two brothers, Clint Buckles and Paul Buckles both of Elizabethtown, four grandchildren, Tracey Stanton and Allen, Bobby Catlett and LaDonna all of Elizabethtown, Bart Catlett and Gwen of Cecilia and Kalen Paxton and Blake of Amelia Island, FL and two great grandchildren. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Roger McCurry and Dr. James Barry officiating. Burial will follow Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Wendell Kenneth Perry
Wendell Kenneth Perry, 84, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehab. He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. He was a member of Morrison Masonic Lodge #76 F and AM for 50 years, and a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemassonry. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a retired manager for the Grand Theatre, State Theatre, Ritz Theatre, and Starlite Drive In. He worked for Bob Enoch who owned the theatre's for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Daisy Luada Allen Perry. He is survived by his sister, Doris (Jodie) Mobley of Elizabethtown; one nephew, Kevin (Terri) Mobley of Elizabethtown; and one great-nephew, Kyle Mobley of Elizabethtown. The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home with Roger McCurry officiating. Burial will follow at Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation is 2:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to Severns Valley Baptist Church Media Ministry.

Joe Edward Seaton
Joe Edward Seaton, 90, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday Jan. 17, 2010, at North Hardin Health and Rehab. He was a native of Grayson County and a member of Bethesda Ministries. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a World War II US Navy Veteran, and a building contractor. He is preceded in death by his parents Will F. and Liza Sadler Seaton; four brothers, Ernest, Earl, George, and Ray Seaton; and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Gladys Seaton of Elizabethtown; two sons, Ronnie Edward (Janice) Seaton of Owensboro and Ricky Lynn Seaton of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Wanda Beld of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Deadra, Scott, Kevin, Keith, and Joy and ten great-grandchildren. The funeral is at 11:00 a.m.Wednesday at Bethesda Ministries in Elizabethtown with Kevin Seaton, Shirley Ball, and Henry Griffin officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home.

James Clifton House, Sr.
James C. House, Sr., 78, of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at his home, with his family by his side. The Hardin County native was a Korean War Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Melvin. He was a 1949 graduate of Glendale High School and attended Western Kentucky University. He was a member of Valley Creek Baptist Church, retired from dairy farming in 1978 and has resided on Valley Creek Road for 78 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Stanley and Claudine Morrison House, by two brothers, Clint House and Adrian House and three sisters, Imalda Beeler, Etta Caswell and Claudine Cecil. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia A. Brangers House, two sons, Cliff House and Greg (Sherry) House all of Elizabethtown, and one daughter, Mary Ann (Robbie) Crim of Elizabethtown, one brother, Ted (Josephine) House of Rineyville, four sisters, Ellen Hannah of Alexandria, LA, Juanita Perkins, Ft. Myers, FL, Emma H. Duvall and Vicki Berry both of ELizabethtown, a special mother-in-law Lillian "Bunny" Brangers and four grandchildren, Alex House and her boyfriend Josh Childress, Cody Crim, Briann Richard, and two special girls, Hope and Hannah Crim, whom he also considered grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Valley Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Kerr and Rev. Howard Pryor officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Valley Creek cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may go to Hosparus of Central Kentucky

Denver Parrett
Denver Leo Parrett, 73, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. The Hardin County native was a member of Gilead Baptist Church and retired from the Air Force. He was a liftime member of American Legion Post #113, the DAV and VFW 5904. He was a member of the Marine Corp League in Elizabethtown and was a member of 40/8 Club at the American Legion. He served in the Marine Corp for ten years and the Air Force for ten years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Goldia Edlin Parrett and by a step great grandchild. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 1/2 years, Carol Caison Parrett, and was the proud father, grandfather and great grandfather of two sons, Dennis (Lisa) Parrett of Elizabethtown and Danny (Elaine) Parrett of Seagrove Beach, FL, four daughters, Debbie (Ron) Baysinger of St. Louis, MO, Donna (Mark) Ricketts of Richmond, Denise Parrett of Elizabethtown and Darlene (Will) Felty of Lexington, ten grandchildren, Shauna, Bryan, Devan, Emily, Dayna, Jeffrey, Kristen, Chandler, Molly and John, two great grandchildren, Alex and Blair, 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Delbert Parrett of Elizabethtown, and three sisters, Dorothy (Walter) Turner and Doris Jean (Mike) Martin both of Elizabethtown and Diane Parrett of Louisville. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Hinkson officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central. Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be a military memorial service at 7 p.m. Monday. Expressions of sympathy may go to Hardin County Special Olympics, Box 109, Elizabethtown, KY 42702.

Ethel "Sue" McGee
Ethel H. "Sue" McGee, 81, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday Jan. 16, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Central City, Kentucky. She was a wonderful seamstress, loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed fishing. She is preceded in death by her husband James S. McGee; her parents, Leslie and Hattie Humphrey, and a son-in-law Danny Willis. She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn (Mike) Vessels of Bowling Green and Linda Willis of Louisville; two sisters, Edna Jones of Melbourne, FL and Thelma Bocken of Rodeo, Texas; four grandchildren, James (Rachel) Willis, Kelli Willis, Clayton Vessels, and Dr. Eric Vessels; two great-grandchildren, Mariel Sue Willis and Daniel Edward Willis; several nieces and nephews. The funeral is at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to St. Jude or Kosair Children's Hospitals.

Bertha Willie Hardin
Bertha Willie Hardin, 93, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Woodland Terrace Nursing Home. She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Brooks Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Mary Alice Stillwell Tincher and three sisters, Della Musick, Mamie Condor and Ree Clark. She is survived by two sons, Charles E. (Janice P.) Hardin and Curtis W. (Verna J.) Hardin all of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren, Debbie Bramblett, Mark Hardin, Jeanne Brashear and Melanie Hardin-Pierce and five great grandchildren, Chelsea, Haley, Levi, Tanasia and Brock. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Raford Herrin officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and continue after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

John Jake Owen
John Jake Owen, 32, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York. The Elizabethtown native was self employed. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Fox Owen, his parents, Harry and Jane Burba Owen of Elizabethtown, a brother, Jim Owen of Elizabethtown and a step daughter, Alana Sodowsky of Elizabethtown. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Shonkwiler officiating. Burial will be in St. James cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Saturday until the time for the funeral. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
