Edna Mae Barnes, 101, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Gresham, Oregon. She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bishop Marion Russell Barnes; one son Marion Russell Barnes Jr.; one daughter, Lillie Mae Love; two daughters-in-law, Margaret Barnes and Deloris Barnes; five sisters, Hazel Fehr, Gracie Suddith, Gladys Shawler, Odell Preston, and Sybil Goodman. She is survived by five sons, Billy (Helen) Barnes of Brandenburg, Bobby (Vadis) Barnes of Louisville, Charles Barnes of Elizabethtown, Ronald Barnes of Elizabethtown, and Rev. Thomas (Louise) Barnes of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Wanda (Leroy) Judd of Portland, Oregon and Wilma (Danny) Smith of Portland, Oregon; three brothers, Thomas "T.C." Sadler of CA, Paul Sadler and Eugene Sadler both of Louisville; 1 sister, Aline Blair of Louisville; 27 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren and 65 great great grandchildren. The funeral is 1:00 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Shockley officiating. Burial to follow at Smith Chappel cemetery in Eastview. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Crystal Marie Craddock
Crystal Marie Scott Craddock, 33, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. She was a native of Louisville and was a member of Gloryland Harvest Church in Radcliff. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margie Scott. She is survived by her husband of fourteen years, Christopher David Craddock, a son, Christian Tyler Craddock of Elizabethtown, a daughter, Caleigh Shea Craddock of Elizabethtown, her parents, Rhonda and Neal Bishop of Campbellsville, one brother, Brian Bishop of Mt. Sherman, her grandfather, Albert Scott of Louisville and her grandparents, Mary Ann and Dennis Lobb of Summersville. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Jacob Pearman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah cemetery in Mt. Sherman. Expressions of sympathy may go to donations to the Craddock Children's Fund. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Katrina P. Knight
Katrina P. Knight, 51, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Birmingham, AL and was of the Mormon faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy H. and Ella Dooly Price. She is survived by her husband, James Knight of Texas, one son Jake Knight of Atlanta, two daughters, Meghan Knight and her husband Timothy Williams and Kaitlin Knight all of Elizabethtown, one brother, Lee Price of Cumming, GA, one sister, Louise Price of Elizabethtown and a grandson, Landen Williams. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday at Elizabethtown City cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home.

Myrtle Elizabeth Clauson
Myrtle Jaggers Clauson, 97 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Helmwood Health Care. She was a native of Hart County and a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Lawrence Clauson; her parents, William and Florence McDowell Jaggers; one brother, Homer Jaggers and three sisters, Stella Gibson, Grace Copelin and Marie Kessinger. She is survived by three sons, James (Ritsa) Clauson, Randall Clauson and Ken (Suzanne) Clauson; four grandchildren, Mark Clauson, Allen Clauson, Jeff Clauson and Matt Clauson and three great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Cameron and Carter. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Dr. Rachel Marshall and Chaplain Peggy French officiating. Burial will follow in Upton cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to Hosparus or Memorial United Methodist Church.

Marshall W. Baber
Marshall W. Baber, 65 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Veterans Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Culpeper, VA and attended Trinity Independent Baptist Church. He served in the Army during Vietnam and retired from A & P. He was a life member of the VFW, American Legion in Culpeper, VA, the Culpeper Moose Lodge and the Vietnam Veteran Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Daniel and Alma Elizabeth Herron Baber and a son, Jerry Jenkins. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Myrtle Baber; one son, Roger Lee (Angela) Jenkins, Sr. of Tyler, TX; one daughter, Kimberley (Tom) Dobrai of Elizabethtown; one brother, Kyle Baber of TN; five sisters, Maxine Geil and Rosalie Totten both of Elizabethtown, Betty Settle of VA, Margaret Kirby and Eleanor Townsend both of TN; two beloved brothers, Thomas and William Osborne; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans cemetery Central. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the VFW.

Alice Rosalie Wyckoff Hoge
Alice Rosalie Wyckoff Hoge, 88, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at her residence. She was a native of Hundred, West Virginia and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She retired from TG&Y; Department Store. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, James William Hoge, Sr., April 2009; two daughters, Joyce Brickner and Marilyn Crocker; four sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by one son, James Hoge Jr. of Elizabethtown; four daughters, Vicki Ryan of Elizabethtown, Nancy (James) Linder of Elizabethtown, Cathy (Richard) Carver of Elizabethtown, and Sharon Plants of Elizabethtown; twenty grandchildren; and several great and great great grandchildren. The funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Webster officiating. Burial to follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 11 on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Robert M. Powell
Robert M. Powell, 78, of Cecilia, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. The Louisville native was a retired Air Force veteran and a retired minister. He was a member of Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church and was the former pastor at Dorsey Chapel and Wilkerson Temple. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, John David Powell and Hazel Merrifield and by his step father Robert Merrifield. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Smallwood Powell, two sons, Mike (Sue) Powell of Powell, TN and Larry (Jenny) Powell of Indianapolis, IN, two daughters, Annette (Mike) West and Clarissa (David) Yates both of Cecilia, one brother, Ricky Merrifield of Big Clifty, one sister, Sandy Merrifield of Madison, IL, 9 grandsons and one granddaughter, Jason Powell, Charles Powell, Nicholas Powell, William Powell, Jack Powell, Philip West, Stephen West, John West, Luke Yates and Lori Yates and five great grandchildren, Daniel West, Caleb West, Lana West, Andrew West and Zoe Kate Powell. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church in Cecilia with Pastor Ron Davis and Pastor Mike Powell officiating. Burial will be in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may go to the American Cancer Society (WKU Chapter) or Salvation Army. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kim Marie Chellman
Kim Marie Chellman, 53 of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Menomonie, WI and a member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church. She was a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and was a Medical Technician at Hardin Memorial Hospital since 1994. She is survived by her husband, Warren C. Chellman; her parents, Gilmer and Joyce Hagen; one son, Nick M. Chellman of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Kelly (Lee) Sandusky of Marlton, NJ and Jill Chellman of Waukesha, WI; one brother, Chad (Lynn) Hagen of Kenosha, WI; one sister, Trudy (Rod) Smeltzer of Menomonie, WI and one grandson, Bryce Chellman of WI. A Memorial service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at House of Prayer Lutheran Church with Pastor Betsy Dartt officiating. There will be another Memorial Service Friday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Menomonie, WI. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Rufus Muriel "Jack" Wise
Rufus Muriel "Jack" Wise, 67 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County and attended of Rineyville Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver for L.K. Tapp for 23 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett Forrest Wise and Ola Johnson Bryant. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Charlene Wise; three sons, Darrell Wise of Louisville, Jackie Wise of Magnolia and Everett Wise of Falls of Rough; one daughter, Chetta (William) Brigman of Radcliff; one brother, Bobby Gene (Eve) Wise of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Agnita (Carl) Wiseman of Radcliff; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Samuel Adams and Jack Adams. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Ash officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continue after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Monty Wayland Large
Monty Wayland Large, 60 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Abileen, TX, served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post #113. He was an auto mechanic. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Eldon Large. He is survived by two daughters, Kristen (Jim) Wells of Louisville and Jennifer (Victor) Milukas of Long Island, NY; his mother, Margaret LaVerne Large of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Eldon LaVerne Large, Roger Kevin Large and William Dennis Large all of Elizabethtown and five grandchildren. A Memorial service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Elizabethtown Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Haynes officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Thursday at the church.
