James Edward "Coley" O'Brien

James Edward "Coley" O'Brien, 47, Henderson, died at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at his home here.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie O'Brien; three daughters, Tabitha O'Brien, Keisha Ritchison, and Kimberly Sparks, all of Henderson; one son, Nathan O'Brien of Henderson; his parents, Tommy and Betty Bryant of Henderson; his grandmother, Dorothy Ervin of Henderson; two brothers, Eddie Utley and Steve Utley, both of Henderson; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are pending at Tapp Funeral Home.

Dolores Martin Pickens

PROVIDENCE -- Dolores Martin Pickens, 89, Providence, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree.

She was a retired school teacher who taught for 38 years. She was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, the book club, and the Thursday Bridge Club in Providence. She was also a member of Eastern Star No. 304, past member of the 20th Century Club, and Webster County Retired Teachers Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hewlett Pickens; and one daughter, Nancy Kay Pickens.

Survivors include one son, Hewlett Martin Pickens of Diamond Bar, Calif.; and one sister, Dorothy Wilson of Evansville.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Melton Funeral Home. The Rev. P.T. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Big Hill Cemetery in Providence.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.

Juanita Davis Boyle

OWENSBORO -- Juanita Davis Boyle, 92, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at her home here.

She was the former secretary/treasurer of James H. Davis Funeral Home. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Owensboro, the D.A.R., the Hospital Guild, and the Pilot Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Boyle, who died May 1, 1982.

Survivors include one son, William T. Boyle Jr. of Owensboro; one sister, Nancy McCormick of Owensboro; one brother, James H. Davis Jr. of Owensboro; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro.

Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, KY, 42301.

Mary Carolyn Hicks Wheeler

Mary Carolyn Hicks Wheeler, 56, Henderson, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at her home here.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Virgil Wheeler; three sons, Ron Adams, Travis Hicks and Wade Wheeler, all of Henderson; two sisters, E.F. Hicks of Dalton, Ill., and Mildred Forbush of Arizona City, Ariz.; one brother, Kenneth Hicks of Terre Haute, Ind.; one grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are pending at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice or American Cancer Society.

Thelma Agnes Strong

Thelma Agnes Strong, 88, Cairo, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Parkview Care Center in Evansville.

She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sebree.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Strong, who died in 1992.

Survivors include three daughters, Anna Lee Ellis of Uniontown, Nadine Brooks of Magnolia, Texas, and Carlene Weatherford of Bloomington, Minn.; one son, David Strong of Henderson; one brother, Anthony Sellars of Robards; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. J. Edward Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. today.

Kenneth H. Jordon

MORGANFIELD -- Kenneth H. Jordon, 51, Morganfield, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Jones of Morganfield and Michelle Jordon of Orlando, Fla.; his mother, Gladys Jordon of Morganfield; two sisters, Kathy Sanderson of Mayfield, Ky., and Tammy Preston of Sturgis; two brothers, Jimmy Lee Jordon of Evansville and Randall Jordon of Grove Center, Ky.; and one grandson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

There will be no visitation.

Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield is in charge of arrangements.

Darlene Marie Brooks

MADISONVILLE -- Darlene Marie Brooks, 41, Madisonville, died of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident at 6:40 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, in Madisonville.

She was a parts clerk in the stock room for Gibb's Die Casting in Henderson.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Lambdin and Wesley Lambdin, both of Madisonville; her parents, Wilma Bryant Brooks and Sherman Brooks, both of Henderson; one sister, Diana Watson of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Danny Brooks of Henderson, Dwight Hudson of Little Dixie, and Darrell Brooks of Evansville.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville. The Rev. Bobby Sellers will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mary Barker Sisk

DAWSON SPRINGS -- Mary Barker Sisk, 72, Dawson Springs, died at 3:21 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.

A graduate of Providence High School and Andrew Jackson Business College in Nashville, she worked as a legal secretary for many years in Florida.

She was secretary to Madisonville Mayor Curtis McCoy for several years. She was a member of Silent Run Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elgie Lee Sisk, who died in June 2001.

Survivors include one sister, Martha B. Utley of Madisonville; one brother, David B. Barker of Providence; five nieces and one nephew.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Melton Funeral Home in Providence.

The Rev. Wayne Lamb will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Providence.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
