Ethel Bessie Cochran, 83, of Williamson, W.Va., passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Pikeville Medical Center's Emergency Room.
She was born May 17, 1923, in Williamson, the daughter of the late Samuel and Dorothy (Baker) Williamson.
Mrs. Cochran was also preceded in death by her husband, Newman Cochran; one son, Cilfton Cochran; and three brothers, Jimmy, Jay and Everett Williamson.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Slaters Branch Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Carson Cochran of Wheatfield, Ind., and Billy Cochran of Chattaroy, W.Va.; nine daughters, Floretta Cochran, Diana Carter and Dottie May, all of Knox, Ind., Sondria Clay of Trenton, Mich., Rita Marcum of Medaryville, Ind., Dona Zank of North Judson, Ind., Tammy Branham of Sidney, KY, Vicki Lusk of Williamson, and Kristie Maynard of Kimper, Ky.
Other survivors include four brothers, Autry Williamson of Rockhouse, KY, Irvin Williamson of Tennessee, David Williamson of Turkey Creek, KY, and Stewart Williamson of Chillicoth, Ohio; two sisters, Lucy Young and Jean Maynard, both of Turkey Creek, Ky.
She is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, with the Rev. Bob Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, and Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at the funeral home. Special services at 7 p.m. nightly with Lee Branham Tuesday night and Gary Blackburn Wednesday night.

Garland Cochran, 93, of Canada, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 5, 2006 in the Appalachian Regional Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, South Williamson, Kentucky.
Cochran was born May 11, 1913 to the late Will and Polly Brown Williamson Cochran.
He was a retired Factory worker in Michigan and a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army.
He is survived by one special niece, Betty Rose of Chattaroy, West Virginia, and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are eight brothers: George, Ben, Rell, Smith, ARvil, Russ, Johnny, and Jack Williamson.
Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home.
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home with Donnie Williamson officiating.
Interment is in the Williamson Family Cemetery in Dixfork, Kentucky with the Belfry Chapter #141 performing DAV rights. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Sandra Ann Coleman, 58, of McAndrews, Kentucky passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky.
Sandra was born May 1, 1948, in Hardy, Kentucky to Irene Stollings Ratliff and the late Earl Ratliff. She was married to the late Darrell Joseph Coleman and the mother of one son, Darrell Joseph Coleman, II of McAndrews, Kentucky where he resides with his wife Rebecca.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pinsonfork Church of God in Pinsonfork, Kentucky.
Other than her mother, son, and daughter-in-law, surviving Sandra are: two grandchildren, Taylor Shandel and Darrell Joseph Coleman, III; two sisters, Cecila Woods of Chattaroy, West Virginia and Debbie Thacker of Arizona; two sister-in-laws, Mary Tucker her husband Norman of Columbus, Ohio, and Jane Coleman of Pinsonfork, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Junior Coleman his wife
Shirley of McAndrews, Kentucky; cousins, Mike and Emma Sue Thacker of Canada, Kentucky; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death other than her father and husband is a brother, Jim Ratliff.
Visitation is 6:00 p.m. Monday night, May 22, 2006, and Tuesday night, May 23, 2006, at Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky.
Sandra’s funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Mary Elizabeth Compton passed away at Central Baptist Hospital shortly after birth Tuesday, October 24, 2006.
Mary Elizabeth was the daughter of Shawn David and Courtney Danielle Coleman Compton of Freeburn, Kentucky. She was the granddaughter of Mary and Steve Compton of McCarr, Kentucky and George and Elizabeth Sue Compton of Majestic, Kentucky and the great granddaughter of Emmett and Janet Murphy of McCarr, Kentucky, Reba and the late James Dotson of Majestic, and Cleo and the late Martha Coleman of Phelps, Kentucky.
Graveside service is 10:00 am Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Alley Cemetery in Ransom, Kentucky with Raven Fields officiating.

John Ray Crabtree, 22, of Williamson, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2006, in Kermit, West Virginia.
John was born October 17, 1983, in Huntington, West Virginia to Charles Ray and Margaret Darlene Carter Crabtree of Williamson.
He was a painter for Tim Reed’s Paint and was a member of the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28.
Surviving John are his son Camron Blake Crabtree who resides with his mother, Nikki Neace, at Slater’s Branch, Kentucky; one sister Darlene Dingess and her husband Steven of Forest Hills, Kentucky; grandmothers, Goldie Crabtree of Nolan, West Virginia, and Chessel Martin of Williamson; grandfather, John Carter of Lexington, Kentucky; special cousin who was like a brother, Lill Troy Carter of Martin County, Kentucky; special aunt and uncle, Troy and Patsy Carter of Martin County, Kentucky; honorary aunt and uncle Judy and Jerry Mounts of Martin County, Kentucky; niece, Hannah Kaye Dingess of Forest Hills; nephew Steven Dakota Dingess of Forest Hills; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
John is preceded in death by one sister, D. J. Crabtree; grandfathers, Virgil Crabtree, and R. C. Martin; and grandmother, Ida Carter.
Visitation is after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2006, at Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky, and after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28, Nolan, West Virginia
Funeral services are noon Thursday, August 24, 2006, at the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28 with Rev. Paul Ray Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Crabtree Cemetery in Road Branch, West Virginia.
Pallbearers are Troy Carter, J. J. Brewer, Josh Hensley, Chad Alley, Steven Dingess, Gary Davis, Robert Martin, Arvil Martin, and T. J. Crabtree.

Edna Crigger, age 95, died peacefully in her sleep on May 2, 2006. A native Eastern Kentuckian, Edna Crigger moved to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida in 1980. Born October 18, 1910, she was one of seven children born to Billy Ball and Martha Jane Ball in McAndrews, Kentucky. All six of her siblings are deceased: brothers: Orison, Cecil, and Joe; and sisters, Inis, Margaret, and Gladys.
She and her late husband, Orison Crigger had eight children. Four children preceded her in death: Irene Ruth, William Darrell, Robert Eugene, and Donald Ray. Two daughters in law: Dorthea and Betty preceded her in death. Her surviving children are Susie Inis Allen and her husband Henry living in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Arthur Lee Crigger living in Crum, West Virginia, Elaine Crigger, daughter-in-law, living in Lecanto, Florida; Mary Lou and her husband Ron Reed of Shalimar, Florida.
Also surviving her are 15 grandchildren: Pam Nichols, Karen Sue Allen, Debra Allen Wiles, Arthur Gregory Crigger, James Bradley Crigger, Kara Leigh Porter, Tina Maynard, Patricia Crigger, Angie Estepp, Darlene Crigger, Johnny Burgett, Donald Kenneth, Richard Franklin, Cheryl, and Kimberly. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren: Melanie Hutto, Jeremy Wiles, Gregory Wiles, Jennifer Nichols, Janelle Nichols, Nathan Crigger, Kendra Crigger, Natasha Crigger, Larissa Crigger, Cory Crigger, Tarryn Porter, Jacob Porter, Jamie Crigger, Chandra Kirk, Shawn Douglas, Kristen, Marla Burgett Storm Reed Berman, and Summer Reed Burman. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Known for her homemade apple jelly that she made for her family and special friends, she sometimes gave lessons to those who wanted to learn her techniques. Because of Miss Edna’s declining health, her family chose the Parthenon Health Care Facility in Ft. Walton Beach to help then in her care. She was lovingly cared for by Brenda Scarver and other special staff on C-Wing.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that an appropriate honor in her memory would be to “plant something beautiful and watch is grow, or to perform ‘‘Random Acts of Kindness” for family, friends, and especially for someone in a nursing facility.
Visitation will be held at Roger Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky Friday evening, May 5, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral services being conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Davis Memorial Gardens in Stone, Kentucky.
Pallbearers will include: Greg Crigger, Jamie Crigger, Brad Crigger, Kenny Crigger, Richard Crigger, Junior Porter, Jeff Kirk, Jacob Porter, and Charlie Moore all grandchildren and husbands of grandchildren.
Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky are taking care of final arrangements.

Shelia Denise Kendrick Crum, 43, of Sidney, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006 at her residence.
Born January 27, 1963, in Troy, Ohio she was the daughter of Gene Kendrick of Thompson Station, Tennessee, and Gail West of Afton, Tennessee.
Shelia was a bank teller for Community Trust Bank and a member of the Bells of Joy United Baptist Church.
Surviving Shelia, other than her mother and father are: her husband, Scott Crum of Sidney, Kentucky; daughter Whitney Nicole Pinson of Sidney, Kentucky; brothers: Mitchell Gene Kendrick serving in the USAF in Georgia, and Kerry Benjamin Kendrick of Navarre, Florida; sister, Allyson Kendrick of Pikeville, Kentucky, grandmothers, Audrey Murphy of Afton, Tennessee and Trula Kendrick of Massillon, Ohio; stepmother, Kathy Kendrick; stepfather, Bill West of Afton, Tennessee; and a host of loving family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her grandfathers, Van T. Murphy and Arvin Kendrick.
Visitation is 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2006 and Monday, May 15, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky.
Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in Rutherford Family Cemetery in Huddy, Kentucky.

Kaitlyn Leigh Daniels, infant daughter of Larry and Cathy Daniels of Sidney, KY, passed away shortly after birth Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Wilma Leigh Daniels; great-grandparents, Mart and Gladys Smith; and great-grandfathers, Richard Daniels, Daniel May and Willis Prater.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by grandparents, David Daniels of Majestic, KY, Bobby Joe May and Kathy Smith May of Sidney; great-grandparents, Gertrude Daniels of Majestic, KY, Pearlie May of Sidney, KY, and Polly Prater of Meador, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, with Johnny Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Daniels Family Cemetery of Majestic, Ky.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, and Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at the funeral home. Special services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Peter Gary "Peto" Daniels, 31, of Huddy, Kentucky died in a car accident on St. Hwy. 319, in Hardy, Kentucky,
Born August 27, 1975 in Mingo County, West Virginia, Peto was the son of Peter Daniels of Delorme, West Virginia and Mary Blankenship Daniels of Freeburn, Kentucky.
He was a coal miner at ExCel Coal Company.
Other than his parents he is survived by his wife, Lois G. "Rudy" Doyle Daniels; one son, David Daniels of Happy Valley, Kentucky; two daughters: Kacie Daniels and Kasidy Daniels of Jackson, Ohio; two stepsons: Aaron Kirk of the home and Jay Kirk of Huntington, West Virginia; a brother, Daniel Daniels of Sargosingville, Tennessee; and two sisters Barbara Jo Turner of Jackson, and Sherry Daniels of Freeburn.
Friends may call after 6:00 pm Tuesday, December 26, 2006 with special service at 7:00 pm at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky.
Funeral service is 11:00 am Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Lonnie Francis officiating. Interment is at Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, Kentucky.
