Timothy Roy “T. R.” Dotson, 17, of Ransom, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in the emergency room at Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Kentucky.
T. R. was born July 1, 1988 in Pikeville, Kentucky to Timothy and Sherry Sullivan Dotson of Ransom, Kentucky.
T. R. was a junior at Belfry High School in Belfry, Kentucky. He was also a member of the Faith Christian Church in Phelps, Kentucky.
Surviving T. R. other than his parents are: one sister, Tammy (Ronald) Daniels of Ransom; one niece, Brittany Daniels of Ransom, Kentucky; grandparents, Walter and Phyllis Sullivan of Ransom, Kentucky; seven aunts: Janet Dotson, Linda Coleman, Sherri Dotson and Tavy Ward all of Ransom, Kentucky, Brenda Coleman and Tina Hatfield both of Phelps, Kentucky, and Gail Stiltner of North Carolina; six uncles: Estil and Ronnie Sullivan of Ransom, Kentucky, Clinton, Gary, and Michael Dotson all of Phelps, Kentucky, and Bryan Dotson of New York; great aunt, Joyce Sullivan of Ransom, Kentucky, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding T. R. in death were his grandparents Roy and Lizzie Dotson and an uncle, Donnie Sullivan.
T. R’s funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006, at the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church with James Smith, Peppi Francis, Larry Hubbard, Mike Smith and others officiating.

Opie Renee Dove, 28, of McVeigh, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Kentucky.
Born April 18, 1978 in South Williamson, Kentucky, Dove was the daughter of the late Opie and Clara Doyle Dove.
Surviving her is daughter, Sydney Clare Dove; brother, Jimmy Doyle of Huddy, Kentucky; sister, Kimberly Doyle of Pinsonfork, Kentucky; stepsister, Laverne Thacker of Kimper, Kentucky; and stepbrothers, C. D. Doyle and David Doyle.
Visitation is Friday, May 12, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home.
Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006 with Bob Werntz officiating. Burial will follow in Don Runyon Cemetery, Pinsonfork, Kentucky.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Marie S. Emma, 94, of Winnetak, California formerly of Stone, Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 4, 2006 in West Hills, California.
Born December 26, 1911, in Stone, Kentucky to the late Lafe B. and Polly Williamson Smith, she was married to the late Salvy Emma and preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Ruth Varney.
Surviving Marie are: a son, Ronald Ray Miller of Depoe Bay, Oregon; two brothers, Orison Smith of Solana Beach, California, and Jefferson ‘‘Woody’’ Smith of Belfry, Kentucky; grandson: James Joel Varney of Woodland Hills, California; granddaughters: Christine Marie Revill of Olympia, Washington, Norma Ann Levy of Indiatlantic, Florida, and Ursula Denise Bowing of Valencia, California; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky with Rev. Harless Ray officiating.

Phillip James (Bucky) Estep, 78, of Burnwell, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.
Born August 31, 1927 in Vulcan, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Cleveland and Roxie Hall Estep.
Bucky was employed by TRAMCO for forty plus years before retiring in 1991. He was a longtime member of the Aflex Missionary Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran having served during World War II and later in Korea. Bucky also was a Past Master and member of the Stone Lodge # 890 F. & A. M. as well as a member of the El Hasa Shrine in Ashland, Kentucky.
Surviving him are his wife Ester Cline Estep of Burnwell; one son Phillip L. Estep and his wife Joan Carr of South Williamson, Kentucky; one daughter Ellie Klingebiel and her husband John of Gastonia, North Carolina; one sister Virgie Lee DeLong and her husband Carl of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren Bradley Klingebiel and his wife Heather, and Erin Grover and her husband John; two great grandchildren Skyler and Hailey Klingebiel; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding him in death other than his parents are brothers, Joseph, Ira, Clifford, Johnny, and Jessie Estep, sisters, Nora Beale, Flora Hurley, Pauline Ring, and Virginia Ludeke.
Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky.
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Gary May officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Kentucky with Masonic graveside services by Stone Lodge # 890 F. & A. M.

Dallas “Big D” Estepp, loving, caring husband and father went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 29, 2006 in Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Kentucky.
The 63-year old “Big D, ” was born November 23, 1942 in Matewan, West Virginia to the late Ed and Rosie Estepp. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Stone Missionary Baptist Church.
“Big D” resided in Matewan, West Virginia with his wife, Susie Maxine Estepp, a, David Eric and a, Angie Estepp. Other than his wife and two children at home, he is survived by another son, Timmy (Pam) Estepp of Whitepine, Tennessee; another daughter, Tammy (Brian) Gooslin of McCarr, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Kerigan and Cody Estepp of Whitepine, Tennessee, Ryan and Kayla Goosin of McCarr, Kentucky and Zack Wallace of Canada, Kentucky; and one brother, Ed (Nancy) Estepp of Lobata, West Virginia.
Preceding Dallas in death other than his parents are: a son, David Estepp; brothers, Billy and Roger Estepp; sisters, Bernice Cox, Jo Steele and Wilma Estepp; and his mother and father in law, Ralp and Melissa Hayton.
Visitation is 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky. There is a special service at 7:00 p.m. with Jimmy Fields officiating.
The funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home with Robert Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery, North Matewan, West Virginia. Pallbearer are Ralph Hayton, Jr., Brian Hayton, Ryan Gooslin, Anthony Collins, Justin Gooslin, Carl Smith and Craig Smith.

Ruby May Ferrell, 84, of Canada, Kentucky passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006 in Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, Kentucky.
Born May 14, 1921, to the late Malcolm and Lou Vernie Chapman May, Ruby was married to the late Eugene Ferrell.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Belfry Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving Ruby are: two sons, Billy Gene Ferrell of Speedwell, Tennessee, and Daniel Richard Ferrell of Canada, Kentucky; four daughters: Mary June Simon Mullins of Hatfield, Kentucky, Susan Ludema of Holland, Michigan, Karen Bragg of Lexington, Kentucky, and Shirley Wellman of Canada, Kentucky; a brother, Charles May of Jackson, Michigan; a sister, Carrie Maynard of Albion, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Preceding Ruby in death other than her parents and husband are: three sisters, Opal Reed Fisher, Mildred Burk and Sarah Chapman, and one brother, Malcolm May, Jr.
Pallbearers are Eugene Duffy Ferrell, John Eric Simon, Christian Anthony Wellman, Peter Joshua Ferrell, Thomas Nathan Ludema, and Shane McKeevin Bragg. Honorary pallbearers are Aaron Wellman, Mathew Ryan Wellman, Franklin Delano Smith, Richard Keegan Ferrell, Dinah Danielle Ferrell, Laura Grace Smith-Shanklin, Shannon Suzette Leedy, Rebecca Ludema, Cassandra Lynn Bragg, and Tammara Jean Ferrell.
Visitation is after 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006 and Monday, May 1, 2006 at Roger Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky.
Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Chapman Cemetery, Canada, Kentucky.

Ethel Fields, 91, of Matewan, WV went to be with the Lord. She passed away Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY.
Born December 17, 1914 at McCarr, Ky to the late Elliott and Virginia “Jenny” (Reynolds) Duty, she was of Pentecostal faith and a member of the Fundamental Christian Church of Varney, WV.
Other than her parents preceding her in death are her husband, Okey Fields, 15 brothers and sisters, three sons: Eugene, Carlos, and Roby; one daughter, Lois Jean; and three grandchildren: Michael Fields, Okey Fields, Jr., and Linda Fields Osborne.
Surviving her are three sons: Joby (Kay) Fields of Varney, WV, Okey Fields of Indiana, and Carlos “Doodle” Fields of Matewan; one daughter: Maudine Chafin of Matewan; grandchildren: Debbie (Fields) Justice of Hardy, KY, Kevin Fields of Matewan, David Fields of Lenore, WV, Gene Chafin of Matewan, Henry and Randy Chafin of Ohio, Joey (Stacy) Fields of Varney, Kim (Chris) Epling of Ashland, KY, Angie (Derek) Rash of Varney, Missy Fields also of Varney, Donna (Clinton) Gibson of Gilbert, WV, Kristy Fields of Virginia, Nikki (Dave) Curtis of Indiana, and Casey Fields of Ohio; and a host of great and great great grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 9:00.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Souls Harvest Church in Belfry, Kentucky with Rev. Raven Fields and Jimmy Fields officiating and special words from Kay and Missy Fields. Interment will follow at Duty Cemetery in McCarr, KY.
Her grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers with honorary pallbearers being Chris Epling, Brad Webb, Erik and Derek Rash, Mike Jones, Johnny Dingess, and Melvin Cunningham.
She will be sadly missed for her loving spirit, kind words of encouragement, and seeking the Lord’s face for everyone she knew.

Virginia L. Spaulding Fitch, 92, of Williamson, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Mingo Manor Nursing Home in Williamson.
Born March 21, 1914, in Logan County, West Virginia to the late Andrew Jackson “A. J.” Spaulding and Cosba Hall, Virginia was married to the late Floyd Fitch, Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28 where she served as Mother of the Church.
Virginia was the loving mother of nine children: Harrison Porter deceased his wife Bonnie Porter Donahue, their children Bobby, Brenda, Kathy, Walter Harrison, and Belinda all of Coburn, Virginia; Ruby J. Dent and her late husband W. L. Dent, their two children Darlene and Roger, and grandchildren, Rebekah, Jeanie, Joshua, and Amanda; Roy Lee Fitch of Garberville, California; Bill Fitch, deceased, and his wife Joan Fitch, and their three children Willie, Katrina, and Jennifer; Jack E. Fitch, his wife Marline Fitch, their two children Michelle and Thomas, and two grandchildren; Floyd Fitch, Jr. and his children Victoria and Kristina of Williamson, West Virginia; Stella F. Fitch of Pikeville, Kentucky and her three children Wendy Lynn of Williamson, West Virginia, Tracie Ray of Virgie, Kentucky, and Donald Lee of Weott, California and grandchildren Angel, Lawson, Ashley, Kyle and Rayanna Rose; daughter Wendy Lynn Fitch Dillon and her husband Edward Dillon of Williamson, West Virginia; and daughter Tracie Fitch Shell and Paul Shell of Virgie, Kentucky and her three children Angel, Lawson, and Rayanna Rose. She had 20 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren along with a host of great great grandchildren all loved by their grandmother.
Visitation is after 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2006 with special service at 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel in Belfry, Kentucky.
Funeral Service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Nolan Church of God Act 20:28 in Nolan, West Virginia with Paul Ray Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Lenore Memorial Gardens in Lenore, West Virginia.

Mary Lou Francis, 67, of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Born July 21, 1939 in Pike County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Augusta Scalf Ray of Turkey Creek and the late Arvil Ray, Sr.
A homemaker, Mary Lou was a member of the Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church in Rockhouse, Kentucky.
Other than her mother, surviving Mary Lou are daughters: Gladys (Ronald) Perry of Turkey Creek, and Kim (Wes) Workman of Lenore, West Virginia; sons: Jerry (Nancy) Francis of Turkey Creek, David Farley of Turkey Creek, and Terry Francis of Paintsville, Kentucky. Other survivors include sisters: Alice Fields of McCarr, Kentucky, Maggie (Cecil) Price of Johns Creek, Kentucky, and Naomi (Carl) Price of Brushy Creek, Kentucky; and brothers: Arvil (Betty) Ray, Jr. of Matewan, West Virginia, J. K. (Rita) Ray of Stone, Kentucky, and Doris (Pam) Ray of Matewan. Surviving her also are nine grandchildren: Melissa (Todd) Collins, Angie (Denny) Cline, Brandon (Alisha) Francis, J. T. Francis, Cody Francis, Kendall Francis, Keith Perry, Keegan Workman, and Kaylee Workman; three great grandchildren: Seth Collins, Caleb Collins, and Tiara Francis, a host of nieces and nephews, one special nephew Douglas (Ettice) Francis, and a very special companion, David Farley.
Preceding her in death other than her fathers were her husband, Delmon Francis, one son, Gary Bruce Francis, one sister Mae Farley, one brother John Ray, infant brother, David Ray, and two infant sisters Rena Faye Ray and Jean Ray.
Visitation is today, Wednesday, September 13, 2006 and Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Rogers Funeral Home. There will be special services both nights with William Akers officiating.
Funeral Services are Friday, September 15, 2006, at Rogers Funeral Home with Richard Staton officiating. Frinds and family will serve as pallbearers.
Interment is in the Francis Family Cemetery at Turkey Creek, Kentucky.

John Arthur Fry, 55, of Newtown, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family and his church family on Monday, August 14, 2006 in Williamson Memorial Hospital, West Virginia.
Born April 29, 1951 in Lobata, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Kenny and Edna Deskins Fry.
John was a disabled coal miner, a member of the UMWA, and Local Union 1440. He was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Matewan, West Virginia.
Surviving him are his wife Barbara Sue Hatfield Fry, one son, John Jacob Fry, II of Newtown; one daughter Angie (David) Akers of Hardy, Kentucky; three brothers, Alvin Lee Fry of Dallas, Texas, Andrew (Yvonne) Fry of Princeton, West Virginia, and Mark Anthony Fry of Norwich, Connecticut; two sisters, Patricia (Roby) Pope of Red Jacket, West Virginia, and Debbie (Louie) Harmon of Varney, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Jonda Marie, Allison Brooke and Stephen (Fred) Whitt, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death other than his parents are one brother, Kenneth Charles Fry, sister-in-law, Eileen Fry, and grandparents Everett and Effie Deskins.
Visitation is after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Matewan with special services at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006 at the Full Gospel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Fred Taylor and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Merrimac, West Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Steven Pope, Butch Pope, Josh Fry, Timmy Caine, Melvin Cunningham, Timmy Collins, Todd Akers, and Terence Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Collins, Ellis McCoy, David Lester, Roby Pope, Louie Harmon, David Akers, Raymond Fitch, Yogi Kinder, and Dr. Chris Epling.
