Ray Coleman, 69, of McVeigh, Ky., passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his residence.
He was born October 7, 1943 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Weldon Garfield
and Perlina Gannon Coleman. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Cora Lee Coleman,
Dorothy Moon, Phyllis Scarberry, Ruthie May and Loretta May and brother, James A. May.
He was a retired janitor from the Pike County Board of Education.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Natasha Nicole Royal Flores of McVeigh, Ky.; brother,
Johnny (Wanda) Coleman of Elkhorn City, Ky. and a half brother, Bob May of Huddy, Ky. and
a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 2 PM at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home Chapel with Earl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Runyon Family Cemetery,
Pinsonfork, Ky. with Delmer Francis, Kenny Allen, Hank Allen, Daniel Allen, Pete Allen and
Carlos Flores serving as pallbearers.
Visitation is from 11 AM until the funeral service. R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry
is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Smith, 77, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at
Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born May 7, 1935, in Pike County, KY to the late Onis and Zella Justice Smith.
He is also preceded in death by two brothers; Bob and Darrell Smith.
He was a coal miner having worked at Eastern Coal Company.
He is survived by his wife: Gearldine Sellards Smith; five sons, James "Smitty" Smith of
Pinsonfork, Ky., Onis Ricky (Rodjetta) Smith of Paintsville, Ky., Benny "Shade" (Shelia) Smith
of Canada, Ky., Donald Ray (Sherrie) Smith of Pinsonfork, Ky., and Michael (Susan) Smith of
Pinsonfork, Ky.; one daughter, Deborah Ann (Pemothea) Chapman of Bucyrus. Ohio; two
brothers, Charles Ray Smith of Pinsonfork, Ky. and Willard "Smiley" (Bobbie) Smith of
Pinsonfork, Ky.; three sisters, Diana Gayle (Gather) Taylor of Pinsonfork, Ky., Francis
Williamson of Pinsonfork, Ky. and Audrey Scott of Morehead, Ky.; eighteen grandchildren;
host of Great-Great Grandchildren and two special great grandchildren; Dillon and Dustin
Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Rick Hisle officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery,
Pinsonfork, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, night at the funeral home.

Michael Lynn Horn, 55, of Delbarton, WV, passed away Friday,
March 22, 2013, at his residence. He was born August 23, 1957 at
Williamson, WV, to the late Odas and Opal Parsley Horn.
He workerd for Pepsi Bottling Company.
He is survived by his children: Michael Brandon (Jamie) Horn of
Delbarton, WV, Christine Dewight Runyon of Delbarton, WV, Michelle
Lynn (Brad) Baisden of Lenore, WV, and Lora Rachelle Horn of
Wisconsin. Special nephew who was like a son: Derrick Workman. Two
brothers; Eddie (Jean) Horn of Streetsboro, OH, and Benny (Helen)
Horn of Williamson, WV, sisters; Barbara (Gene) Francis of Mansfield,
OH, Amy (Butch) Webb of Delbarton, WV, Patricia (Earl) Dingess of Williamson, WV, and
Elizabeth (John) Robinette of Huddy, KY. Grandchildren; Michael Bradley Baisden of Lenore,
WV, James Austin Baisden of Lenore, WV, Nicholas Clark of Delbarton, WV, Deanna Clark of
Delbarton, WV, Cassandra Teeters of Wisconsin and Kyra Teeters of Wisconsin, Great
Grandchild; Chole Ballas of Wisconsin and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, March 25, 2013, at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with James Edward Baisden officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY with Brandon Horn, Derrick Workman, Bill Workman, Darin
Baisden, Phillip Mitchell, and Nick Clark serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be
Douglas Webb, Daniel Webb and John Robinette.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday night at the funeral home.

Sandra Jean "Sandy" Crowder Green, 63, of Sidney, KY, passed away Friday, March 22,
2013, at Signature Healthcare of Pikeville, KY.
She was born August 19, 1949, at Clover, VA, to the late Herbert Audrey and Annie
Toler Crowder.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one son: John Green of Chatsworth, GA, one daughter; Tonya Green
of Olive Hill, KY, three sisters; Vivian Crowder Mayes of Monroe, VA, Rhonda C. Sweider of
Delaware and Janet C. Castle of Delaware. Also surviving her are four grandchildren: Blain A.
Green, Joshua C. Green, Aubrey T.L. McCaulley and Dillon N.W. Green, two great
grandchildren: Austin J. Belcher and Khloe E. Green and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, March 25, 2013, at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery, Sidney, KY with family and friends
serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday night at the funeral home.

Sylvia Blackburn Smith, 98, of Sidney, KY, passed away
Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at her residence.
She was born July 19, 1914 at Canada, Ky to the late James
Ballard and Mazie Smith Blackburn. She is also preceded in death by
her husband George Smith, one brother; Willie Cashier Blackburn and
two sisters; Leona Stanley and Darlene Crigger.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Dix Fork Old
Regular Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter; Bonnie Jean Bentley of
Mentor, OH one son: Chester Ray May of Wakaka, IN. Step
Daughters: Sylba (Bob) Scott of Orlando, Fl and Betty Jewel (Julian) Howell of CA. Twin
brothers; Paris (Phyllis) Blackburn of Galena, OH and Wayne (Fay) Blackburn of Sidney, Ky.
sisters; Dolly Deskins of Sidney, Ky Arminda Stanley of Sidney, KY Jean H. (Ralph)
Williamson of Fallston, MD and Yvonne (Kenneth) Williamson of Brownstown, MI.
Grandchildren: Gary Lee (Shirley) Bentley, Jackie (Connie) Bentley, Dennis (Jaycn) Bentley,
William Paris (Patty) Bentley, Ricky Bentley, Randy (Mary Ann) Bentley Scott (Brenda)
Bentley, Robert Bentley and Theresa (Doug) Anderson, Roger Wayne (Billie) May, James Paris
(Brenda) May and Ronald E. May. Step Grandchildren: Jeff Howell, Jay Howell, Jennifer H
Creech and Gregory Scott. Twenty Two Great Grandchildren. Eight Step Great Grandchildren
and Eighteen Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday March 29, 2013 at the Dix Fork Old
Regular Baptist Church with Elders Stony Blackburn, Lacy Walters, Edward L. Smith, Tommy
Dials and Richard Staton officiating. Burial will follow at Blackburn Cemetery, Sidney, Ky
with grandsons as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Nephews, Daniel Stanley and Dix
Fork Brothers of the Church.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday and Thursday night at the funeral home with
special services both nights at 7 PM with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.

Hattie Louise Wright Fleshman, 82, of Williamson, WV
went home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 25, 2013 at St.
Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV.
She was born October 1, 1930 in Mulenburg County, Ky.
the daughter of the late Eugene and Ella Mae Reynolds Thorn.
She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie
Wright Sr.; her second husband, Clinton Fleshman; daughter,
Janet Allen; son, Jack Wright and a brother, Ben Thorn.
Hattie was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was a faithful
member of Christ Temple Church in Williamson.
Survivors include her children, Charlie (Cecilia) Wright Jr. of Huddy, Ky., Perry
(Patricia) Wright of Roanoke, VA, Todd Wright of Blowing Rock, NC, Mary Clayborne of
Huntington, WV, Ella (Paul) Dotson Jr. of Williamson, WV, Linda (Bruce) Branch of
Savannah, GA, Charlotte Johnson of Hilliard, OH, Tawanna Wright of Williamson, WV and
Deidra Wright of Norfolk, VA; special daughter-in-law, Cecile Wright of Williamson, WV;
brother, Eugene Thorn Jr. of Williamson, WV; sister, Emma Jean Edwards of Gary, IN;
sixteeen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Christ Temple
Church with Bishop C. E. Moore and District Elder Thomas E. Moore officiating. Burial will
follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, WV with grandsons serving as
pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 PM until 8 PM Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Church.

Dora Lee Scalf, 88, of Pikeville, Ky. passed away Wednesday,
March 27, 2013 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born July 31, 1924 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of
the late Garfield and Lula Bell Ball Gross. She was also preceded in
death by; her husband, Tom Scalf; brothers, Oscar and Carl Gross and
sisters, Mary and Lori Gross.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services are Monday, April 1, 2013 at 11 AM at the
Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Sidney, Ky. with family and friends serving as
pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 3 PM Sunday at Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist Church
with special services at 7 PM.
