James Everett Bragg, 72, of Williamson, W.V. passed away
Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Pikeville Medical Center after a courageous two-year battle with colon cancer. He was born August 5, 1940 in
Burnwell, Ky., to the late Ernest K. and Pearlie Yates Bragg. He was the
youngest of 10 children, and was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
James was a proud member of the Leckieville Freewill Baptist
Church for nearly 49 years. He served as Sunday school teacher for the
adult class for over 30 years. He loved to attend church and was known
by many for his singing ability. He was retired from A. T. Massey Coal
Co., and held several jobs within that organization. He also worked for several other coalrelated businesses before becoming disabled. "Paw Paw" was known throughout the area for his
love of God and his love of a good conservation.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet (Brown) Bragg. They had just celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on September 28, 2012. He is also survived by one son, James Stephen Bragg and his wife Lisa; one granddaughter, Megan Kathryn Bragg, who was the light of
his world; one sister, Ocie Muncy of Chesapeake, Va.; two half-sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday. November 10, 2012 at the Leckieville
Freewill Baptist Church, Goody, Ky., with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow at
Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky with Ronnie Maynard, Ronnie Hall, Cameron
Joyce, Travis Roberts, Frank Dillon and Robert Brown serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday night at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home. R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.

Edmond Dotson 83, of Pinsonfork, KY, passed away Thursday November 8, 2012 at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born
October 9, 1929 at Ransom, Ky., the son of the late Nelt and Gracie
George Dotson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise
Watson Dotson; brother, Earsel Dotson; sisters, Blanche Coleman,
Opal Norman and Thelma Ratliff and a half brother, Elmer New.
Edmond was a retired coal miner with Eastern Coal Corp, a
member of the UMWA, a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Victory in Jesus Church.
Survivors include his son, Edward Lee (Nancy) Dotson of
Pinsonfork, Ky.; daughter, Anita Louise (Rick) Morris of Dacula,
GA; brothers, Paul Dotson, Tennis Dotson, Ralph Dotson, Ray Dotson and Glenn Dotson; sisters, Edna Totten, Geraldine Telfer and Oakaline Comer; half brother, Harold New; grandchildren, Brandon (Nichole) Morris, Aaron Morris, Jeff (Ashley) Dotson and Alanne (Bobby)
Norman; step grandchildren, Angel (Troy) Chafins and Craig (Rose Kevish) Pinson; great
grandchild, Javon Dotson; step great grandchildren, Breanna Hatfield, Dakota Chafins, Madison
Chafins and Kira Pinson and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Belfry Chapter
#141 DAV will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Saturday and Sunday at the Funeral Home Chapel with
special services Sat. at 7 PM with Mike Elswick officiating and Sun. at 7 PM with Mike Smith officiating.

Trucella Beth Jones 60, of McAndrews, KY, passed away
Thursday November 8, 2012 at her residence. She was born December 5, 1951 at Williamson, W. V. to the late Woodrow Wilson
and Betty Jean Slone Pinson. She was also preceded in death by one brother; Dennis Pinson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Jesus Way Church of Belfry, Ky.
She is survived by one daughter; Tina (Bobby) Fletcher of
Turkey Creek, Ky., two sons; James "Mark" Jones of McAndrews,
Ky., and Daniel Chance Allen of McAndrews, Ky., sister-in-law;
Judy Pinson of Stone, Ky.; grandchildren, Kaeli Fletcher, Canaan
Fletcher, Kerah "Cushie" Fletcher, Cami Fletcher and Johnny "Boo" Jones and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday November 12, 2012 at the Jesus
Way Church of Belfry with Raven Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Pinson Cemetery,
Rockhouse Fork of Sidney, Ky., with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Saturday and Sunday at the church.

Burgess Smith, 79 of Sidney, KY, passed away Saturday morning,
November 10, 2012 at his residence after a long illness.
He was born February 15, 1933 at Sidney, Ky. the son of the late
John C. and Eunice Bevins Smith. He was also preceded in death by two
brothers, George Reed and Woodrow Reed and three sisters, Elizabeth
M. Smith, Ethel Grace Charles and Myrtle Mae Varney.
Burgess was retired from the United States Army with over 20
years of service to his country.
Survivors include his loving wife, Deloris L. Smith of Sidney, Ky.;
daughters, Lahoma A. (John) Damron of Turkey Creek, Ky., Betty J. (Gary) Varney of Sevierville, TN and Teresa L. (Tim) Thornbury of Canada, Ky.; sons, Randal B. (Patty) Smith and
John G. (Dondra) Smith all of Sidney, Ky.; eleven grandchildren, Patrick J. Baisden, Angela T.
Smith, Leann Brannock, Shane R. Smith, Miranda L. Mikles, Timothy Ryan Thornbury,
Tishona M. Smith, Candi L. Varney, Emma P. Freeman, Heath Varney and Amy M. Thornbury; ten great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11 AM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery,
Sidney, Ky. with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM on Sunday and Monday at the Funeral Home Chapel.
Special singing service will be held Sunday at 7 PM and special services Monday at 7 PM with Mike Elswick officiating.

Helen Smith, 91 of Pikeville, KY, formerly of Huddy and Sidney,
KY, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born March 18, 1921 in Pike County, Ky. the daughter of
the late Hobert and Victoria Hackney May. She was also preceded in
death by her husband Raymond Smith in 1978 and by Ronnie Edmiston
in 2007. She was also preceded in death by one son, Danny Raymond
Smith; grandson, Robbie Pinson; brothers, Winford McCoy, Lawrence
McCoy and Joseph May; sisters, Althea Glover, Margaret Justice and Goldie Williamson and
son-in-law, Fred V. Pinson.
Helen was a homemaker, she was baptized at the Canada Freewill Baptist Church and
was attending the Jubilee Christian Assembly Church of Pikeville.
Survivors include one son, Ricky Smith of Huddy, Ky; three daughters, Jackie Pinson of
Loraine, Ohio, June Christy (Hubert) Hall of Loraine, Ohioi and Sandy McCoy of Pikeville,
Ky.; brother, Victor May of Michigan; sister, Pat Charles of Stone, Ky.; eleven grandchildren;
twenty seven great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Damron officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View
Memory Gardens, Huddy., Ky. with Rodney Miller, Rick Smith, Matthew Pinson and Hubert Hall serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday at the Funeral Home Chapel.

Juanita T. Smith, 70, of Canada, KY passed away Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the
South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born June 17, 1942 in Pike County, KY to the late App and Gomie Honaker
Thacker. She is also preceded in death by three brothers; Cecil Ray Leedy, Ralph Carter Thacker and Tony Douglas Thacker.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband; Bobby H. Smith, two sons; Robert D. Smith of North
Carolina and Johnny Ray Smith of Texas, one daughter; Tonya R. Adams of Canada. Ky one
sister; Christine Bonds of Canada, Ky one brother; App Thacker of Florida, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday November 17, 2012 at R. E. Rogers
Funeral Home with Randall Thornsbury officiating. Burial will follow in the Honaker Cemetery, Johns Creek, Kentucky, with Family and Friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 P.M. Thursday with special services at 7 P.M. with Buddy
Kendrick and 7 P.M. Friday Evening with Randall Thornsbury, at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.

Donovan Ray Curry, infant son of Teddy and Christi Lockard Curry of Delbarton, WV,
was stillborn November 16, 2012 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, South Williamson, KY.
Besides Donovan's parents, grandparents, Billie and John Lockard and Clinton and
Rhonda Curry, Uncle Bill Curry and Aunt April Lockard survive him.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Monday November 19, 2012 at the Browning
Cemetery, Ben Creek, West Virginia.

Sybil Chapman May was born April 18, 1914 to George Washington Chapman and Pricy Blackburn Chapman at Chapman Hollow, Canada, Ky. in Pike County. Sybil was a lifelong resident of Canada, KY. She was the 12th of 14 children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Thomas, Owens
"Snake", Floyd, Ben and Cecil; sisters, Minnie, Sarah, Mary, Emmie, Clemmie,
Chole and Evelyn.
Sybil was married to William Isom "Bill" May who preceded her in death.
She was the mother of daughter, Evelyn Joyce May Sesco of Canada, Ky. who preceded her to Heaven and Carlos Ray (Juanita) May of Brunson, SC who survives and
was a "mother figure" to dozens and dozens of youngsters, family or no, who grew up
under her tender watch and care.
Sybil was a grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She is survived by 9 grandchildren; Sheila Sesco Collins of Canada, Ky., David (Monica) Sesco of Lacrosse, FL, Joseph (Daphne) Sesco
of McIntosh, FL, Cibil Sesco (Mark O'Hearn) of Plainville, GA; Madea May Coleman (Dwayne) of Canada,
KY, Stephan May of Muskegon, MI, Brad May of Myrtle Beach, SC, James May of Clover, SC and Tina May
Harter of Brunson, SC. She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Kenneth Chester Sesco of Canada, Ky.
and Shannon Marie May of Ocala, FL and granddaughter-in-law, Susan Spiker Sesco. She also counted herself
as the grandmother of Jackie Collins of Hickory, NC and Mary Elaine Tolson of Sidney, Ky, Shane Reaves of
Calhoun, GA and Byron and Anne Durham of Huntington, WV.
She has 21 great-grandchildren; Willy (Wanda) Collins and Jeremy Collins of Canada, Ky., Chet
(Kirstyn) Sesco of Mariposa, CA, Lucas Sesco of Gainesville, FL, Savannah Sesco of Lacrosse, FL, Audra Ann
Sesco of McIntosh, FL, Broc May of Canada, Ky., Kenneth Reaves of Plainville, GA, Cory Coleman of Pikeville, KY, Chris Coleman of Canada, KY, Wesley May and T. J. May of Hampton, SC, Stephan May II and
Brandon May, Raquel, Lizz and Angelique Santos all of Santos, Muskegon, MI, Tavis May of Clover, SC and
Austin, Madison and Colin Harter all of Brunson, SC. Great-grandchildren, Brittany, Derek, Summer, Evie,
Nicholas, Selina, Gabriel, James, Deja, Sybil, Lakota, London, Brennan and Roland.
Services and visitation for Sybil will be held Monday, November 19. Family viewing is at 5 PM and
regular visitation beginning at 6 PM.
The funeral will be Tuesday, November 20 a 1 PM at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, Ky. with Rev.
Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapman Cemetery, Canada, Ky. with pallbearers, David
Sesco, Joseph Sesco, Dwayne Coleman, Corey Coleman, Broc May, Chris Coleman, Willy Collins, Jeremy
Collins, Elaine Tolson and Jeff Hatfield.
Sybil was a blessing on all of our lives and truly the best person that any of us ever knew or ever will know.
