Ruby Jean Dent, 78 of Williamson, WV passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born June 9, 1936 in Logan County, WV the daughter of the late Floyd and Virginia
Spaulding Fitch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence Dent; a
daughter, Marlene Stepp and three brothers, Bill Fitch, Roy Fitch and Harrison Porter.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28.
Survivors include her daughter, Darlene Cartwright of Williamson, WV; son, Roger Gene
Stepp of Hatfield, KY; brothers, Floyd Fitch Jr. of Lenore, WV and Jack Fitch of Detroit, MI;
sisters, Stella Marcum, Wendy Lynn Fitch and Tracie Rae Marcum all of Williamson, WV;
grandchildren, Rebecca Chapman, Josh Johnson, Amanda Slone and Naomi "Jeanny" Stepp;
four great grandchildren, five great, great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 2 PM at the Nolan Church of God
Acts 20:28 with Eugene Preece and Paul Ray Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the
Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 from 6 - 8 PM at the Nolan Church of God
Acts 20:28 with special services at 7 PM.

Wendell Wilkie Dotson, 73, of Ransom, Ky. passed away Friday, July
25, 2014 at the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born October 23, 1940 at Ransom, Ky. the son of Mary "Mag"
Hatfield Dotson of Ransom, Ky. and the late Dennis "Den" Dotson. He was
also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles (Martha) Dotson, Eugene
(Shirley) Dotson and an infant brother, Larry Gilford Dotson.
Wilkie was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He was
a Deacon and member of the Samaria Primitive Baptist Church. He had a
tradition that he loved doing and that was giving $2 bills to newborn babies
and others. He dearly loved all of his family and friends.
Besides his Mother, he is survived by his wife, Margaret "Annie" Whitt Dotson of Ransom,
KY; children, Teresa (Michael) New of Ransom, KY, Denise "Bernie" Dotson of Bristol, TN
and Duane "Unch" Dotson of Ransom, KY; brothers, Burl (Glenna Mae) Dotson and Dwight
(Kelley) Dotson all of Ransom, KY; sisters, Helen Dotson, Lola McCoy and Gail (Eugene)
Gibbs all of Ransom, KY and Janet Flo (Larry) Scott of Whitesburg, KY; grandchildren, John
(Michelle) Dotson of Bluff City, TN and Kendra "Baby Durl" Dotson of Bristol, TN and a host
of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 1 PM at the Samaria Primitive
Baptist Church with J. C. Hager, Shawn and Jeff Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the
Willie Jake Hager Cemetery, Ransom, KY with Mitchell Scott, Joey Dotson, Van Gibbs,
Dennis "Whitey" Gibbs, Chad Dotson, Jerry Dotson, D. G. McCoy and Billy Yates serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Monday and Tuesday at the Samaria Primitive Baptist
Church. Special services will be held both nights at 7 PM with James Ball, J. C. Hager, Jeff
Dotson, Shawn Dotson and Paul Varney conducting services Monday night and Larry Slone,
Jeff Dotson and Shawn Dotson conducting services Tuesday night.

Neicie Jeanette Wyrick, 81 of Belfry, KY formerly of Knoxville, TN
passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital, Williamson, WV.
She was born October 2, 1932 in Washburn, TN the daughter of Mrs.
Beulah Beeler of Belfry, KY and the late Dan Beeler. She was also
preceded in death by a very special friend, Emory Davis.
Neicie was a former medical secretary for Dr. Fred Brown in Knoxville,
TN. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela (Danny) Salyers of Belfry, Ky with whom she made
her home; son, Alvin James (Theresa) Wyrick Jr. of Knoxville, TN; brothers, Dee (Jerri) Beeler,
Wayne (Gail) Beeler and Winiford (Pat) Beeler all of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Courtney
(Dustin) McCollister and Phillip Wyrick of Knoxville, TN and great grandchildren, Kadi,
Natheniell, Emme and Kaeson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2 PM at the St. James Episcopal
Church, Knoxville, TN, with Rev. W. Stephen White officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home,
Belfry KY, and from 5 - 8 PM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Bridges Funeral Home, Knoxville, TN.

Phyllis Ann "Baby" Scott Dove 58, of Delbarton, WV, passed away
Monday July 28, 2014 at her residence.
She was born May 30, 1956 at South Williamson, KY the daughter of the
late Burl and Nellie Hayes Scott. She was also preceded in death by one
daughter; Vina Haynes and one sister; Lydia Smith.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian Assembly of God
Church at Turkey Creek, KY.
She is survived by her husband, Earmel Ray Dove of Delbarton, WV; one
daughter, Anita (Jay) Clark of Delbarton, WV; sisters, Ruth Nusser of Bardstown, KY, Mildred
(John) May of Hardy, KY and Kathy Rose of Hardy, KY; brother, Johnny Burl Scott of Belfry,
KY; grandchildren, Nicolas, Deanna, Seth and Joshua Clark and Cory Dale and a host of other
loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Thursday July 31, 2014 at R. E. Rogers Funeral
Home with Danny Mikles officiating. Burial will follow at Clark Family Cemetery, Delbarton,
WV with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 6 -9 PM Wednesday night at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel.

Glorice G. Robinette, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014.
She was born in Pikeville, KY. She was the daughter of the late Curtis
Ferrell and Bertha Robinette. She was preceded in death by a niece, Linda Gillman.
She was a retired payroll clerk from I.B.M. and a member of Pilgrim
Home Old Regular Baptist Church in Varney, KY.
She is survived by a brother; John Lloyd (Sharon) Robinette of
Pinsonfork, KY, sister; Joyce Gillman of Winchester, KY, niece; Kathy
Kingston-Miller of Bowling Green, KY, four nephews; John Lloyd
Robinette Jr. of Huddy, KY, Todd (Tracey) Johnson of Churchville, NY,
Scott (Karen) Johnson of Spencerport, NY and Brian (Delaine) Johnson of Burlington, NJ, one
great-niece; Tiffany Miller and one great-nephew; Timothy Kingston, three great nephews, five
great nieces and one great-great nephew.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 PM Friday night August 1, 2014 with church services starting
at 7 PM at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Saturday, Aug. 2 at Pilgrim Home Old Regular Baptist
Church with Elder Richard Staton and Elder Hobert Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at
Alfred Young Cemetery, Varney, KY.

Mary Juanita Varney Slater, 91, of Barboursville went to her
heavenly home on July 31, 2014.
She lived most of her life in Williamson, WV, the wife of Chester
G Slater who preceded her in death. She was the daughter of Don and
Lottie Varney of Falls Branch who also predeceased her along with
three brothers Ermal Varney, Everette Varney, and Bill Varney.
She is survived by three children, Judith (Frank) Slater-Smith of
Williamson, Mike (Susie) Slater of Murrells Inlet, SC and Marsha
Slater of Barboursville and a loving sister Helen Varney Persinger of
Madison, Indiana. Grandchildren include John Michael (Lisa) Phillips,
Tabitha Phillips, Amy Phillips Elliott, Chad (Janine) Slater, and Caroline (Scott) Slater
Burnette. Great grandchildren include Ian (Aimee) Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Jordan Phillips,
Blake Phillips, Nikki Phillips, Grayson Elliott, Chad "Duece" Slater, Robert "Beau" Burnette,
and Chapman Scott Burnette. A host of nieces and nephews loved their "Aunt Nita."
Also, special to her were her church families at the Memorial Church of Christ and the Fifth
Avenue Church of Christ in Williamson and at the Guyandotte Church of Christ in Huntington
where she was a member. She graduated from Chattaroy High School in 1941 where she was
valedictorian of her class. She was also a long-time member of Elizabeth Chapter #37, Order of
the Eastern Star in Williamson where she served as Worthy Matron and Grand Chapter
Representative to Florida.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 2, 1014 after 6 PM at Rogers Funeral Home, Belfry, KY
and one hour before services at the Memorial Church of Christ at Borderland.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Sunday August 3, 2014 at the Memorial Church of Christ at
Borderland with Dwayne Smith officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Memory Gardens
in Maher, WV, with nephews serving as pallbearers.

Delma Mae Surber, 81 of Lincolnton, NC, formerly of Williamson, WV passed away
Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at her home.
Delma was born January 8, 1933 in Williamson, WV the daughter of the late Albert and
Bertha Davis Bevins. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Joseph Surber.
She is survived by two children Michael Surber and Rhonda (James) Sellards both of Lincolnton, NC.
She also leaves behind four sisters, Emma Lou Carter of South Williamson, KY, Iretta
Chapman of Williamson, WV, Betty Jean Shadd of Fitchburg, MA and Etta McCoy of King,
NC, as well as her grandchildren, Brandy Leonard, Nicholas Surber, Kristen Sellards, Carrie
Sellards, and Amanda Sellards and her great grandchildren, Takota, Hudson and Porter Leonard
and Maverick and Kayla Surber, Madison Martin and Colton Abernathay
Funeral services will be held Friday August 8, 2014 at 1 PM at R.E Rogers Funeral Home,
Belfry, KY with Daniel Mikles officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memory
Gardens, Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Thursday after 6 PM at the funeral home.
