Alma Jo "Dotson" Warren, 76, of Phelps, KY, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 10, 2011 in the Pikeville Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends after a long battle with ALS.
She was born September 1, 1935 at Phelps, Ky. the daughter of the late James E. and Sadie Sanders Dotson. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Dotson Chambers and a grandson, Wesley Aaron Schwartz.
Jo was a member of the Pike County Democratic Women's Club, a volunteer for the American Heart Association and a member of the ALS Awareness Organization. She was a member of the Phelps First Baptist Church and was attending the First Baptist Church of Belfry with her daughter and family.
She is survived by her son, Wendell R. (Crystal) Schwartz of Phelps, Ky.; daughter, Lisa Jo Schwartz (Brian) Justice of Kimper, Ky.; sisters, Edith ("Fuzzy") Keesee of Phelps, Ky. and Bonnie Johnson of Lexington, Ky.; brother, Doug (Dru) Dotson of Phelps, Ky.; grandchildren, Lindsey Nicole and Wendy Rayshelle Schwartz and Scotty Brian and Jordan Keith Justice and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, October 14, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Belfry with Mark Helton and Larry Rife officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanders Cemetery, Phelps, Ky. with Brian Justice, Chris Justice, Ron Keith Justice, Todd Chambers, Mark Chambers, Chris Watson, Jeff Watson and Derek Dotson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Dotson, "Fuzzy" Keesee, James Ollie Smith, Mike Russell, Tom Potter and Ashley Schwartz.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM on Wednesday and Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Belfry. Special services will be held both nights at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the ALS Association.

Adam Ray York, 22 of Hardy, Ky. passed away Thursday morning, October 13, 2011.
He was born October 2, 1989 in Pikeville, Ky. the son of Chester Ray and Robin Jill Tackett York of Hardy, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chester and Dollie York and Lewis and Grace Tackett.
He was a conductor for the Norfolk-Southern Railroad, a graduate of Belfry High School Class of 2008 and of the Church of God faith.
Other than his parents he is survived by two sisters, Tracie (Tommy) Hatfield of Forest Hills, Ky. and Jill (Curt) Elkins of Pinsonfork, Ky.; nieces, Madison Smith and Hannah Hatfield; nephew, Dalton Hatfield, very special great aunt, Edna Hatfield and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike York and Rev. Larry Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Friday, October 14, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with a special singing service at 7 PM.

Marina Lou Darbyshire, 67, of Hardy, KY, passed away Friday October 14, 2011 at her residence.
She was born December 19, 1943 at Sidney, Ky. to the late Alvin Elvie Mullins and Martha Jane Blackburn Mullins.
She was a cafeteria worker at Food City and a member of the Toler Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brothers; Elvie Gene (Patsy) Mullins of Sidney, Ky. Donnie Ray Mullins of Huddy, Ky. Roger Lee (Debbie) Mullins of Sidney, Ky. and Ricky Dean (Nancy) Mullins of Sidney, Ky. niece; Marina K. (Jason) Runyon, nephews; Rod Mullins, Shawn Mullins, Ryan Mullins, Chris Mullins, Brandon Mullins and Richard Mullins, special friends; Gary and Mildred Scott, Paul and Gladys Scott, a host of great nieces and nephews and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Sunday October 16, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Roger Mullins and Donnie Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Mullins Cemetery, Sidney, Ky. with Rod Mullins, Shawn Mullins, Ryan Mullins, Chris Mullins, Brandon Mullins, Richard Mullins, Gary Scott and Paul Scott serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Saturday night at the funeral home.

Larry Edwin Crigger, 68, of Hardy, Kentucky, passed away at his residence, Friday, October 21, 2011.
Born April 4, 1943 at McAndrews, Kentucky, Larry was a son of the late Wilson and Freeda L. Crigger. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby sister, Lee Ann Crigger and his grandparents.
Larry was retired from ARH Healthcare, and was a member of the Church of God New World Ministries. He served his country with the United States Army. He loved his animals and wildlife "especially birds".
He is survived by his wife Judy Kay Lowe Crigger; one brother, Mayferd (Pam) Crigger of Dayton, Ohio; Special Friends, Mary Montgomery and Donn Blackburn: Mother-in-law, Edna Lowe Armstrong and Bill Armstrong of Rogersville, Tn.; Special Brother-in-law, James W. Lowe of Rogersville, Tn. host of nephews, nieces and friends. He has a special cat named Autumn that is going to miss him very much.
Graveside Services will be held 1 P.M. Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Highland Cemetery, Rogersville, Tn. with George Trent officiating. Burial will follow with Family and Friends serving as Pallbearers.
Visitation will be held Sunday Evening after 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the Rogers Funeral Home.

Gregory Dean "Joker" West, 49, of Burnwell, KY, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011.
He was born March 13, 1962 in Williamson, WV the son of Paula West Oliva of Oviedo, Fl. and the late Jim Fannin. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Ireland and Minnie West and Ethel and James Fannin.
He was a disabled coal truck driver and of the Baptist faith.
Besides his Mother he is survived by his step father, Patrick Oliva of Oviedo, Fl.; three brothers, David (Lisa) Pimer, Robert (Michelle) Putt and Joey Fannin; sister, Beverly Holgate; aunts, Joyce (Ronnie) Booth, Shirley (Eugene) Dotson and Helen (Rick) Becker; uncle, Terry West; great uncle, Raymond West and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 11 AM with Ed Lockard officiating. Burial will follow in the West, Layne and Chapman Cemetery, Stratton Fork, Canada, Ky. with David Pimer, Robert Putt, Joey Fannin, Terry West, Wes and Doyle serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 PM Tuesday at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home.

Phyllis Ann Oliver, 59, of Belfry, KY, passed away Tuesday October 25, 2011 at South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital.
She was born June 5, 1952 at Matewan, W.V. to the late Delmer and Laurine Dotson Alley. She is also preceded in death by one son; David Oliver, and one sister; Dolly Raulerson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Belfry.
She is survived by her husband; Dale L. Oliver Sr., daughters; Elizabeth Boyd of Belfry, KY, and Melissa (Malcolm) Skeens of Canada, Ky. two sons; Dale (Lynn) Oliver of Lenore, W.V. and Danny (Erin) Oliver of Pinsonfork, KY, four sisters; Jenny Horton of Belfry, KY, Jan (Richard) Watson of Belfry, KY, Ella (John) Hackney of McAndrews, KY, and Suzie (Clifford) New of Louisa, KY, three brothers; Larry Alley of Belfry, KY, Robert (Pam) Alley of Belfry, KY, and Jimmy (Crystal) Alley of Belfry, KY, fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Friday October 28, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Buddy Kendrick and others officiating. Burial will follow at Alley Cemetery, Ransom, Ky with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home with special services at 7 PM.

Mildred Deskins, 81, of Canada, KY, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Pikeville Medical Center.
She was born January 6, 1930 at Pinsonfork, Ky to the late General and Nancy Varney Chapman. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Orville Deskins; three brothers; James Chapman, Alvin Chapman and Don Chapman, and three sisters, Helen Chapman Johnson, Alma Chapman and Christlene Chapman.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sisters; Marie (Herbert) Thornbury of Canada, Ky, and Mable Donathan of Michigan, five brothers; Tom (Ruby) Chapman of Canada, Ky, Elster Chapman of Ohio, Denver (Anna) Chapman of Ohio, Doug (Flo) Chapman of Canada, Ky, and Dee (Jennie) Chapman of Indiana and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Sunday October 30, 2011 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Randall Thornsbury, David Coleman Jr. and Others officiating. Burial will follow at Varney Branch Cemetery, Kimper, Ky, with Ryan Thornsbury, Brandon Thornsbury, Eric Thornsbury, Larry David Chapman, Shannon Chapman, Steve Thornbury, Tim Thornbury, Mark Thornbury, Ricky Chapman, Barry Chapman, Kelly Chapman, Craig Chapman and Larry Bruce May serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday and Saturday night at the funeral home with special services at 7 PM Friday with David Coleman Jr., Onis Smith and Michael Elswick, officiating and Saturday night at 7 PM with John Jacobs, Raymond Stanley and David May officiating.

Bobby Lee Lowe, 82, of Prestonsburg, KY, formerly of Turkey Creek, Ky. passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Pikeville Medical Center.
He was born January 10, 1929 in Pike County, Ky. the son of the late Stanley "Brushy" Lowe and Minnie Opal Varney Lowe. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Esta Loucille Webb Lowe; his second wife, Gertrude A. Lowe; sister, Nell Ruth Prater; brother, Thomas Beverly Lowe and one grandchild, Steven Thomas.
Bobby was retired from the N. & S. Railroad after 41 years and was a member of the Rogers Park Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Sue (Joe) Curry and Patricia Ann Willingham all of Turkey Creek, Ky. and Tammy (Randy) Scott of Piedmont, SC; sons, Jimmy Dean Lowe of LaGrange, Ky. and Bobby Lindell Lowe of Sevierville, TN; step daughter, Clevetta Boyd of Langley, Ky.; daughter-in-law, Sherry Lowe of Turkey Creek, Ky.; sister, Mary Lou Thompson of Monroe, MI; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; Special Friend, Louise Spradlin and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011 in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Mikie Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lowe Cemetery, Turkey Creek with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held after 6 PM Friday and Saturday at the funeral home chapel with special services Saturday night at 7 PM with Jimmy Stanley officiating.
