Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Jones
CALVERT CITY, Ky. ­ Readie B. Jones, 89, passed away Aug. 12, 2004 at Marshall County Hospital. She was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Ledbetter.
Surviving are a son, Wade Driskill of Smithland; two brothers, David Whalen of Evansville and Elmer Whalden of Grand Prairie, Texas; three sisters, Dora Timmons of Grand Rivers, Margie Weaver of Madisonville and Rozell Gochiarn of Lovonia, Mich.; three stepdaughters; a stepson; a grandchild; a great-granchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Aug. 15 at Smith Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Paradise Cemetery. Rev. O.D. Joiner officiated.

Sisco
Funeral services for Morris W. Sisco, 78, of Marion, were Aug. 16, 2004 at Boyd Funeral Home. Rev. Hardin Hosey officiated. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.
Sisco passed away Aug. 13 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church. He served two years in Germany while in the U.S. Army. He was an equipment operator until he retired in 1976 and returned to Kentucky.
Surviving are three sisters, Evalean Curnel of Salem, Shirley Dalton of Kevil and Dorothy Guill of Marion; a brother, Charles Sisco of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward Sisco, W.T. "Cobbie" Sisco, James Sisco and Alvie Sisco. His parents were Roy Ben Sisco and Rosa J. Waters Sisco.

Johnson
GRAND RIVERS, Ky. ­ Sue Johnson, 69, passed away Aug. 14, 2004 at Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Iuka Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Aug. 17 at Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Canup officiating. Burial was in Iuka Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Johnny Johnson of Iuka; a sister, Rosemary Moser of St. Peters, Mo.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Johnson; and three brothers.

Campbell
Dannie Bruce Campbell, 69, of Marion, passed away Aug. 15, 2004 at Crittenden Hospital. He was a member, Sunday school teacher and deacon at Suphur Springs Baptist Church.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and worked for Inland Container Corp., for 32 years before returning to Kentucky in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Effie Mae Campbell; a daughter, Patti (Dan) DeShields of Newburgh, Ind.; two sons, Daniel J. Campbell of Newburg and Charles E. (Melissa) Campbell of Orlando; a sister, Loetta (Ken) Wheeler of Kuttawa; and six grandchildren.
His parents were Daniel R. and Ester Campbell; and two brothers.
Funeral services were Aug. 18, 2004 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Baker and Rev. Cortis Hill officiating. Burial was in Mexico cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, 528 Mexico Rd., Mario, KY 42064.

Mahan
SALEM, Ky. ­ Norris W. Mahan, 87, passed away Aug. 10, 2004 at Livingston Hospital. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Irva Gene Kirk Mahan of Salem; a daughter, Patricia Mahan Marshall of Pensacola, Fla.; a son, Stephen Wayne Mahan of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lela Belt Mahan; and a brother, Shelby Vaughn.
Funeral services were Aug. 13 at Boyd Funeral Home with Rev. John East and Patrick Marshall officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery.

Davidson
PADUCAH, Ky. ­ Bessie Davidson, 85, formerly of Marion, passed away Aug. 17 at Medco Nursing Home. She was a member of New Life Tabernacle in Paducah.
Surviving are three daughters, Wanda Foster and Brenda Tinsley, both of Paducah, and Debbie Lynch of Louisville; two sons, Wayne Davidson and Ricky Davidson, both of Paducah; a sister, Laverne Travis of Marion; a brother, Rev. Cortis Hill of Marion; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Bessie Belt; her husband, Clarence Walker Davidson; a daughter; a son; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Aug. 20 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Rev. Cortis Hill and Rev. Larry Rudesill officiated. Burial was in Freedom Cemetery.

Bussey
SMITHLAND, Ky. ­ Icie Bussey, 97, passed away Aug. 6, 2004 at Livingston Hospital. She was a member of McMurray Chapel Methodist Church, was a Kentucky Colonel, was involved in many oganizations including chairperson of the Ladies Farm Bureau in Livingston County and a state chairperson. She was chairperson of the March of Dimes when the first polio shots were given in Livingston County, and she was a past chairperson of the American Cancer Society and the Bicentennial of American in Livingston County in 1976. She was also a member of the WOman's Club and prsident of the Twentieth Century Club in Livingston County.
Funeral services wre Aug. 10 at Smith Funeral Chapel.
Bussey is survived by a sister, Ruby Kilgore Hoobler of Mobile, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, T. Bradford Bussey; two sisters and two brothers. Her parents were Samuel D. and Polly Garner Kilgore.

Rushing
FREDONIA, Ky. ­ William H. Rushing, 81, passed away July 30, 2004 at his home. He was a retired farmer and member of Crider Baptist Church.
Surviving are nine sons, Junior Hayse Pinnegar of Cape Coral, Fla., Carl E. Oliver, David L. Rushing, and Jerry D. Rushing, all of Fredonia, Harold D. Oliver of Calvert City, R.W. Oliver, Sr., and William P. Rushing, both of Princeton, Roger D. Rushing of Sturgis and Gary A. Rushing of Marion; four daughters, Linda S. Hamby of Princeton, Brenda K. Rowland of Fredonia and Shirley A. Riley and Anita J. Oliver, both of Kuttawa; two sisters, Juanita Wallace of Fredonia and Lola Bush of Shawneetown; 38 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held with Rev. Tommy Tackett officiating. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery. Morgan's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pendergrast
GRAND RIVERS, Ky. ­ Funeral services for Lewis N. Pendergrast, 79, were held July 29, 2004 at Smith Funeral Chapel. Rev. James Oates officiated. Burial was in Iuka Cemetery.
Pendergrast was a member of the masonic lodge in Lincoln Park, Mich., and was retired from General Motors of Detroit. He was of Methodist faith and was a trustee of Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Pendergrast; a son, Michael Pendergrast of Wears Valley, Tenn.; a daughter, Debra Cunningham of Taylor, Mich.; a brother, Shorty Pendergrast of Princeton; two sisters, Charlene Walker and Lucille holbert, both of Grand Rivers; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Guess
EDDYVILLE, Ky. ­ James Allen Guess, Jr., 84, passed away July 28, 2004 at Caldwell County Hospital. He was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church, a member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #156 and Eastern Starlight Chapter 471. He was a World War II veteran and was a retired machinist for General Electric in Cleveland, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Clara Mae Greenlee Guess; three daughters, Vivian Castoli of Lakeland, Fla., Jeanette Fathaur of North Royalton, Ohio and Kathy Baker of Twinsburg, Ohio; a son, John Guess of North Royalton, Ohio; a brother, Oliver Guess of Evansville; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Allan Guess, Sr., and Ula Ross Bennett Guess; a brother; and four sisters.
Funeral services were July 31 at Lakeland Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Perdue and Rev. Gates Bowman officiated. Burial was in Frances Cemetery.

Travis
CRAYNE, Ky. ­ Evah Lee Travis, 83, passed away July 22, 2004 at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. She was a member of Crayne Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Underdown of Marion; a son, Billy E. Travis of Princeton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie M. Travis; a brother, Ralph DeBoe; and a sister, Wilma Sutton.
Funeral services were July 24 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. Cortis Hill officiating.
