Kentucky Marriage Records by County

Whitt
Oliver Whitt, 80, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004 at his home.
He was retired from Moore's Business Forms in Marion.
Mr. Whitt is survived by his wife, Clara Lee MacCaddam Whitt of Marion; one son, Glen M. Whitt of Paris, Ky.; one daughter, Louisa Lee Towery of Marion; two sisters, Evelyn Cruce of Marion and Mary Helen Crouch of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers, George Curtis Whitt of Manitou Springs. Colo., and A.L. Whitt Jr. of Richmond, Ky.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His parents were Allie Louis and Precilla Alzera Whitt. He was also preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 18 at Gilbert Funeral Home followed by burial at Frances Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Lourdes Hospice, 2855 Jackson St., Suite 5, Paducah, KY 42003, or Frances Presbyterian Church Cemetery, c/o JoAnn Asbridge, Lafayette Heights, Marion, KY 42064.

Hamby
Ollie F. Hamby, 59, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at Crittenden Hospital.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Hamby of Marion; three sons, Ron Lynn of East Alton, Ill., James Hamby of Providence, Richard Crews of Nebo; one daughter, Jessica Nichols of Dawson Springs; mother, Jean Ryan of Princeton; three brothers, Bobby Hamby of Marion, Steve Hamby of Clay and Phillip Hamby of Diamond; four sisters, Vilene Hurley and Paula McGill,both of Marion, Jeanie Dulin of Eddyville, Robyn Thomas of Princeton; and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Hamby was preceded in death by his father, Leamon Hamby, and one sister.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 7 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Hardesty and the Rev. Tim Rigdon officiating. Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery.

Cook
Betty Jane Cook, 66, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
She is survived by her husband, I.W. Cook Jr. of Marion; two sons, Mike Cook of Henderson and Steve Cook of Pataskla, Ohio; three brothers, Iril Davis of Eagle River, Wisc., Millard Davis of Eddyville and Thorton Davis of Springfield, Ill; a nephew, Gary Matz; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Her parents were John L. and Mary McConnell Davis.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 at Gilbert Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Austin Jr. officiating. Friends may call from noon until the service time Friday.
The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association, 1941 Bishop Lane, Louisville, KY 40218, or the American Cancer Society, c/o Rebecca McConnell, 508 N. Main St., Marion, KY 42064.

McConnell
Ella Mae McConnell, 78, of Caldwell County, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at Caldwell County Hospital.
A homemaker, Mrs. McConnell was preceded in death by her husband, Iley McConnell, a granddaughter, Teka McConnell; two brothers and one sister. Her parents were Cecil and Rosie Rustin Vinson.
She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, James Iley McConnell and Larry McConnell, both of Fredonia; one daughter, Shirley Oswalt of Benton; two sisters, Lavine Rowland of Caldwell County and Linnie Ramey of Madisonville; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are Thursday (today), Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial will be in Rowland Cemetery.

Morris
Corena Morris, 88, of Carrsville passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of Carrsville Methodist Church.
Mrs. Morris is survived by one son, Roger Dale Morris of Carrsville; one brother, Herbert Irby of Elizabethtown, Ill.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Robert Morris, and a brother. Her parents were Fred H. and Lora Gerherdt Irby.
Services were Sunday, Feb. 8 at Boyd Funeral Home in Salem with the Rev. Mike Grimes and the Rev. Mac Dossett officiating. Burial took place in Carrsville Cemetery.

Croft
Herman Reeves "Junior" Croft Jr., 70, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at his home.
A member of Salem Baptist Church, Mr. Croft is survived by his wife, Mary Dunkerson Croft of Salem; three sons, Dale Croft of Ledbetter,, Mitchell Croft of Eddyville and Derek Croft of Salem; one daughter, Tina Culver of Burna; two sisters, LaVerne Workman of Paducah and Melva Shouse of Lola; one brother, Dennis Croft of Salem; three grandsons, one great-grandson and one stepgranddaughter.
His parents were Herman Reeves Sr. and Nettie C. Vaughn Croft. He was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 7 at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. John East and the Rev. Randy Beals officiating. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery.

Nunn
Rudell Nunn, 94, of Louisville, formerly of Crittenden County, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004 at Westminster Terrace.
Mr. Nunn was a retired counselor for the Veterans Administration with 20 years of service, a counselor for Kentucky Employment, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church, Shively Masonic Lodge #951, York Rite and Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie H. Nunn; son, Billy Joe Nunn of Lynn Haven, Fla.; daughter, Sandra Nunn Drake of Maysville, Ky; three brothers, Roy Nunn of Marion, Thomas Nunn of Wilkesboro, N.C., and J.C. Nunn of Danville, Ind.; two sisters, Cleo Nunn of Metropolis, Ill., and Gladys Jackson of Riverside, Calif.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Jan. 31 at Westminster Terrace followed by burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Owen Funeral Home.

Croft
Edna V. Croft, 84, of Salem, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 at Livingston Hospital in Salem.
Ms. Croft was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Her parents were Alonzo Wheeler and Molly Mae Newcomb Croft.
She is survived by one brother, Richard D. Croft of Marion; three sisters, Mary Sills and Wilma Belt, both of Salem, Virginia May of Mishawaka, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Services were Sunday, Feb. 1 at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Alexander officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Higgerson
Joyce Irene Higgerson, 77, of Marion, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Born in New Orleans, Mrs. Higgerson was a 1943 graduate of Laurel High School in Laurel, Miss., and a former employee of St. Mary Hospital in Hobart, Ind. She was a member of Mexico Baptist Church where she played piano and organ for many years.
She is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Weeks of Williamsport, Ind., Shirley Vaughan of Bloomfield, Ind.,and Patricia Basaldua of Holbrook, Ariz.; one son, Robert Weeks of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a dear friend, Robert Moran; and several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Burke Weeks and Robert Higgerson; and one son, James Weeks.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Mexico Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Burdon and the Rev. Archie Brock officiating. Burial followed in Mexico Cemetery.
Gilbert Funeral Home handled arrangements.
