Kentucky Marriage Records by County

John Luxmore
John Luxmore, 72, of Hi Hat, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at his daughter’s residence in Lexington, following an extended illness.
He was born June 20, 1928, in Price, the son of the late Fred Luxmore and Maudie Lawson Luxmore. He was a retired coal miner, formerly employed by Inland Steel and Island Creek Coal Company. He was a member and minister of the Little Nancy Old Regular Baptist Church; assistant moderator of Little Nancy at Price, and Steel’s Creek Regular Baptist Church at Wayland.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Aileen Little Luxmore.
Other survivors include three sons, Larry Oliver Luxmore of Cadiz, John Paul Luxmore of Georgetown, Fred Kimball Luxmore of Lexington; one daughter, Jeremia Sue Johnson of Lexington; one brother, Charles Luxmore of Winchester; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 6, at 10 a.m., at the Little Nancy Old Regular Baptist Church at Hi Hat, with Regular Baptist ministers officiating.
Burial will be in the Boyd Cemetery, at Hi Hat, under the direction of Hall Funeral Home, Martin.
Serving as pallbearers for the funeral of John M. Luxmore were John Derek Johnson, Larry Floyd Luxmore, Anthony Brent Luxmore, Rex Ryan Luxmore, Kevin Paul Luxmore, Joshua Morgan Luxmore, Ronald Stewart and Bill Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Luxmore Jr., Freddie Hall, Stevie Reid and Robert Reid.

Thelma Pauline McCown
Thelma Pauline McCown, 87, formerly of Ligon, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, in Taylor, Michigan.
She was born August 8, 1913, in Montcalm, West Virginia. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Romulus, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Fred McCown.
Survivors include four sons, Beverly Jerome, Dennis, and Glennis, all of Michigan and Paul, of Lewisburg, Tennessee; three daughters, Ramona Humphrey of Ligon, Lois Stratton and Joann Jones, both of Michigan; three brothers, Elza, Donald and Clarence Pennington; one sister, Francis Stanley of Hilliard, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 20, at noon, at the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, Taylor, Michigan.
Burial was in the Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, Michigan.

Anna Kiser McGlone
Anna Kiser McGlone, 96, of Carter County, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at the Prestonsburg Health Care Center.
Born July 27, 1904, in Carter County, she was the daughter of the late A.B. “Gold” and Mahalia Burton Kiser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. A. “Jake” McGlone.
Survivors include one son, Henry McGlone of Prestonsburg; two daughters, Connie Ellison of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Betty McGinnis of Bucyrus, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 30, at 1 p.m., at the Globe Funeral Chapel, Olive Hill, with Dave Shanklin officiating.
Burial was in the Jake McGlone Cemetery, on McGlone Creek, in Carter County.

Billa Wanda Miller Fraley
Billa Wanda Miller Fraley, 82, of Cecil, Ohio, formerly of Wayland, died Friday, March 30, 2001, in the Leisure Oaks Nursing Home, Defiance, Ohio.
She was born February 26, 1919, in Hueysville, the daughter of the late Frank Cooley and Martha Allen Cooley. She was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church, and was retired from the Elkhorn Water District.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J. E. Miller.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Fraley of Lexington.
Other survivors include one daughter, Sherry Lynn Messer of Cecil, Ohio; one brother, Dave Cooley of Wayland; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 2, at 11 a.m., in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, at Martin, with Clergyman Brad Tackett officiating.
Burial was in Davidson Memorial Gardens, at Ivel.
Serving as pallbearers were Marvin Fraley, Dick Vinson, David Cooley, Mike Cooley, and Lee Messer.
Honorary pallbearers were Jared Panico, Chelsea Panico and Mallory Panico.

Ronnie Moore
Ronnie Moore, 46, of Inez, died Tuesday, March 31, 2001.
Born on January 29, 1955, in Martin County, he was the son of the late Elmer Moore and Olive Bell Moore.
Survivors include three brothers, Danny Moore of Inez, Gary Moore of Danville, Kenneth Larry Ward of Marion, Ohio; two sisters, Glenna Branham of Inez, and Ruth Horn of Marion, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 3, at 1 p.m., at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Inez, with Quentin Crum officiating.
Burial was in the Williamson Cemetery, at Tomahawk.

Dr. Claude Pritchard Frady Jr.
Dr. Claude Pritchard Frady Jr., 81, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Greenview Hospital.
He was born in Wilder, Tennessee, the son of the late Claude P. Frady Sr., and Fannie Hall Frady.
He attended Wayland High School and Caney Junior College. He was one of the school’s well known “Caney Crusaders.” He continued his education at the Univeristy of Kentucky from 1940-1941. In 1941 he left school to serve his country for four years during World War II, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Following his military service, he returned to school and obtained a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts and an Ed.D. at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Frady’s 36-year career as an educator included working as a teacher, principal and basketball coach in the public school systems in Floyd and Knott counties, and teaching English at Caney Junior College. He also worked with the Bureau of School Services at UK from 1963-1968, and served as a professor of Western Kentucky University from 1968, until his retirement in 1982.
He was involved in numerous organizations including The Kentucky Association of Secondary School Principals, the Kentucky Association of School Administrators, the Lions Club, the Kiwanis Club, the American Cancer Society, and the Salvation Army.
In 1998, Dr. Frady was inducted into the Knott County Hall of Fame, and in September 2000, was named Alumnus of the Year at Alice Lloyd College.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Hall Frady.
Other survivors include one daughter, Cathy Ann Hays; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Hamilton, Ohio, and Kathryn Whitten of Allen Park, Michigan; a brother, Samuel W. Frady of Wayland; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 1, at 2:30 p.m., at J. C. Kirby & Sons Funeral Home, Bowling Green.
A private graveside service was held Monday, April 2.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Alice Lloyd College, and the Hindman Settlement School.

John Hunter
John Hunter, 85, of Shelbiana, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Pikeville Methodist Hospital, following an extended illness.
Born on May 24, 1915, at Printer, he was the son of the late Benjamin Hunter and Maudie Hamilton Hunter. He was a retired coal miner, and a member of the U.M.W.A.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Hall Hunter.
Survivors include two sons, Varnie C. Hunter of Wellington, Ohio, John Paul Hunter of Shelbiana; four daughters, Ethel Harvey of Harold, Phyllis McKinney of Martin, Darlene Mitchell of Erial, New Jersey and Anna Laur Kidd of Kansas; one brother, Ora Hunter of Michigan; two sisters, Mae Morgan of Allen, Nancy Kidd of Honaker, 23 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 31, at 1 p.m., at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, at Martin, with ministers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating.
Burial was in the Tackett Cemetery, at Honaker.

Maudie Howard Joseph
Maudie Howard Joseph, 97, of Frankfort, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
Born on November 17, 1903, at Blue River, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Martha Shepherd Howard. She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Louisville.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Callie Howard, and her second husband, Callie Joseph.
Survivors include three daughters, Mazie Coffey of Willard, Ohio, Alta Vanderpool of Lebanon, Ohio, and Lucy Perry of Frankfort; two sons, Johnnie Howard of North Carolina, Harold Howard of Louisville; 28 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 3, at the W. G. Hardy Valley Funeral Home, in Louisville, with Ken Stebbins and Marty May officiating.
Burial was in the Penn Run Cemetery, in Louisville.
