Earl Lewis Roof, age 72, of Big Clifty, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his residence.
He was born April 25, 1940, in Grayson County, Kentucky, the son of Jesse Thomas and Mabel King Roof.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Myrtle Marie Petty Roof, of Big Clifty; six children, Diane Love, of Big Clifty, Connie Thompson, of Elizabethtown, Donnie Roof, of Leitchfield, Shirley Roof, of Elizabethtown, and Jeannie and April Roof, both of Big Clifty; four brothers, Richard Roof, of Louisville, Carl, Gerald, and Merle Roof, all of Big Clifty; six sisters, Louise Fulkerson, of Big Clifty, Doris Brown, of Clarkson, Shirlene and Wanda Wright, both of Caneyville, Debbie Lee, of Leitchfield, and Sandra Morrison, of Clarkson; 19 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Roof, and one grandson, Ricky Michael Roof.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. Jim Berryman officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Big Clifty.
Elizabeth Jennings
Elizabeth Jennings, 34, of Caneyville passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.
She was born on June 13, 1977 in Louisville, the daughter of Wendell and Charlotte Bratcher. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of Chapel Union Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Norman Jennings of Caneyville, 4 daughters, Sara Beth, Maggie Sue, Allie Marie and Emma Kate all of Caneyville, her mother Charlotte Bratcher of Clarkson and her sister Katie Marie Bratcher of Clarkson, several uncles, aunts, cousins and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law and one nephew. She is preceded in death by her father, Wendell Bratcher.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Dermitt Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Randall Deweese will be officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville after 3:00 Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
Cecil Beatty
Cecil Beatty, age 84, of Leitchfield, KY passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford, KY.
He was born on July 15, 1927 in Caneyville, KY, the son of Shady and Anna Pruitt Beatty. He was a sawmill operator. He was a member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by one sister, Aline Snyder of Leitchfield and several nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Irene Pettrey and four brothers, Roy, Stanley, Raymond and Russell Beatty.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Dermitt Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. William Dodson will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of service.
Larry Hack
Larry Hack, age 62, of Caneyville passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at his residence.
He was born on September 30, 1949 in Caneyville, the son of Roy and Gertrude Hack. He was a truck driver for Ohio Valley Reload.
He is survived by 2 sons, Wayne Hack (Marcia) of Falls of Rough and Roy Hack (Stephanie) of Leitchfield, a step daughter Fawn Clark of Caneyville, 2 sisters, Opal Reynolds and Alma Dean Bratcher (Roger) both of Caneyville, 4 brothers, Clifton and Richard Hack (Elaine) both of Caneyville, Roger Hack (Marie) of Morgantown, and Hershell Hack (Debbie) of Leitchfield, 2 grandsons, Hunter and Colby Hack both of Leitchfield and 2 granddaughters, Chelsea Craddock of Owensboro and Summer Mudd of Caneyville. 14 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews also survive. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Amos Hack.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. February 17, 2012 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Burial will be in the Pleasant Union Cemetery.

Adam Snell
Adam Snell, age 27, of Leitchfield passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012 at his residence in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on October 18, 1984 in Leitchfield, the son of Teri Darnell and Mike Wilkerson. He was a head chef at All Saints Campground. He was a member of Wilson Home Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Courtney of Leitchfield, his mother Teri Darnell (Hugh) of Caneyville, his father Mike Wilkerson of Leitchfield, one brother Nathaniel Wilkerson and one sister Jordan Wilkerson, one step-brother Nickolas Darnell and one step-sister Kaylin Darnell all of Leitchfield, his grandparents Dewey J. and Bonnie Bratcher of Caneyville and Sherman Wilkerson of Leitchfield, great grandparents Lee and Juanita Cravens of Shepherdsville, two nephews Bradin and Blake Burden of Leitchfield.
Cremation was chosen with a memorial service at the Wilson Home General Baptist Church in Caneyville Saturday, February 18 from 11 am until 2 pm. Brother Wayne Clemons will be officiating.
Amanda Kay Lyons
Amanda Kay Lyons, age 30, of Elizabethtown KY, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 in Elizabethtown, as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born on October 15, 1981, in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Glenn Dewayne and Mary Lou Alvey Phelps. She was a shipping clerk at Zappos.
She is survived by her son and his father, Gaige Lyons and Michael Lyons of Elizabethtown, her mother, Mary Lou Phelps of Elizabethtown, her sister, Tiffany Schroeder (Jacob) of Elizabethtown, and her grandmother, Glenda Alvey of Elizabethtown. She was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Dewayne Phelps and her grandfathers, Albert Alvey and Glendon Phelps.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery.

Juanita Davis
Juanita Davis, age 81, of Caneyville, KY passed away Wednesday (February 8, 2012) at 4:08 am at the Professional Care & Rehab Center in Hartford, KY.
She was born on September 26, 1930 in Caneyville, KY the daughter of Pirtle and Sudie Taylor Farris; she was a 50 year member of the Short Creek Eastern Star.
She is survived by one daughter, Zelma Sue Jennings of Caneyville, 2 brothers, Lewis Farris of Leitchfield and Aubrey Farris of CA, 2 sisters, Roberta Northern of Russellville, KY and Mary Alvey of Leitchfield, KY. 3 grandchildren, Brian and Norman Jennings of Caneyville and Sara Beth Embry of Caneyville, 5 great grandchildren also survive.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one child, Jerry Ralph Mollyhorn, 2 brothers, Udell and Sol Farris, 1 sister, Oleta Hayes.
Cremation was chosen, a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday (February 10, 2012) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville.
