Oredus "Sonny" Eli Stubbs
(June 8, 1933 - August 26, 2013)

Oredus Eli "Sonny" Stubbs, 80, a resident of Gloster, MS, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, August 26, 2013. He was a retiree of DSM Copolymer, where he worked for 35 years. He was a native of Deerford, LA. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 4pm until 9pm and then on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 9am until services at 11am, conducted by Rev. Jack Varnado, Brother Robert Toney, and Pastor Stephen. Burial will be at Milldale Cemetery. He is survived by two daughters, Belinda Medlock and her husband Eddie of Gloster, MS; Sonia Baker and her husband David of Fayetteville, AR; one son, Readus Wayne Stubbs and his fiance Mannette Traylor of Sunshine, LA; nine sisters, one brother, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lily Zelmodine Kirby Stubbs. Pallbearers will be Clark Scott, Readus Stubbs, Vance Stubbs, Michael Stubbs, Bruce Green, Wayne Wilkins, Chris Stubbs, Richard Ormsbee, Isaac Carpenter, Jr., and Cody Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Kirby, Archie Wilkins, Reggie Pullman, Jimmy Brashier, Corey Stubbs, and Dale Ormsbee. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed vegetable farming and was known to share all of his bounty with relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Roy Elliott Corcoran
(October 18, 1939 - August 26, 2013)

Corcoran, Roy Elliott, 73, died on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Baton Rouge General, Bluebonnet surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Centreville, MS and a lifelong resident of Slaughter, LA.

Visiting will be all at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Masonic Service.

Visiting will continue on Friday at the funeral home from 9:30 am until service time at 11:00 am conducted by Rev. Bob Wojohn. Burial will be in Redwood Cemetery, Slaughter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara Gail Davis Corcoran, daughters, Billie Jane and husband Mark Dykes of Centreville, MS, Elizabeth and husband Jason Aaron of Slaughter, Amy and husband Charles Manuel of Slaughter, Sons, Tim and Jennifer Corcoran of Slaughter and Roy and Lacy Corcoran of Slaughter, sister, Carolyn Schwartz of Slaughter, grandchildren, Michael and Meghan Dykes, Caleb and James Elliott Aaron, Lawrence and Garrett Roy Manuel, Timothy Hugh Corcoran II and Katy Gail Corcoran, Great grandchild, Michael Dykes, Jr., Nephews, Clifton Schwartz, Ashby Schwartz, Tom Schwartz, Nieces, Lydia McInnis, Amanda Gunter and Brother in Law, Jimmy Schwartz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton LeRoy and Lydia Corcoran.

Pallbearers will be Clifton Schwartz, Tom Schwartz, Ashby Schwartz, Michael Dykes, Caleb Aaron and Nathan Harvey. Honorary pallbearers are James Elliott Aaron, Lawrence Manuel and Garrett Roy Manuel.

He proudly served in the US Navy for 4 years, he was a member of Plains Presbyterian Church, St. Albans #28, Charter member of Slaughter Masonic Lodge #475 and served on the East Feliciana Parish School Board for 27 years and retired maintenance supervisor of The Town of Slaughter after 31 years of service. Sue Richards
(March 5, 1929 - August 26, 2013)

A retired property manager with CJ Brown, devoted Mother, Grandmother and friend to many born March 5, 1929 died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 at the age of 84. She was a native of Fayette, MS and a resident of Livingston, LA. Visiting will be at Milldale Baptist Church on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and continues at the church on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. until service at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Danny Greig and Rev. James "Bubba" Courtney. Burial will be at Milldale Baptist Church Cemetery, Zachary, LA. Survived by her children, Edward "Ed" Richards, Jr.; Robert "Bob" Richards and wife Debby; Rinda Davis and husband, Billy; and Naomi Davis and husband Kelly; seven grandchildren, Landon Richards, Nathan Davis, Lindsey Davis Bauer, Micah Richards, Draughon Davis, Drew Davis and Trace Davis; and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward Collyn Richards, Sr.; parents, George R. Draughon and Mamie Draughon Rogillio; siblings, O'Ine Perry, Louise Jones, Sidney Draughon, and Ralph Draughon. Pallbearers will be Billy Davis, Nathan Davis, Landon Richards, Micah Richards, Kelly Davis, Honorary pallbearers Draughon, Drew and Trace Davis. She was a charter member of Milldale Baptist Church and a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church. Anne (Annie Helen) Burton Howard
(August 6, 1915 - August 24, 2013)

Anne Burton Howard, 98, died on August 27, 2013, in Loudon, Tennessee. She was born on August 6th, 1915, in Lettsworth, Louisiana. Anne was raised in Addis, Louisiana, and was named Salutatorian of her high school class at Brusly High School. She attended Louisiana State University for three years, then contracted typhoid fever and was not expected to live. Her college sweetheart, Oscar T. Howard of Innis, Louisiana, who was attending L.S.U. on a basketball scholarship, brought an Episcopal priest from Plaquemine, Louisiana, and married her on her death bed. She made a miraculous recovery. In 1953 the family moved to Alexandria, Louisiana. Shortly thereafter, they built a home in Pineville, Louisiana, where they lived and worked most of their lives, prior to retirement. Anne enjoyed genealogy research and the many friends she met during this process. As a result she was awarded membership in numerous organizations, including: The National Society of Magna Charta Dames and Barons, The General Society of Mayflower Descendants, The Pilgrim John Howland Society, The Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society U.S. Daughters of 1812, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. She was preceded in death by: her father John C. Burton, III; her mother Marguerite Platt Burton; her sister Lucille Burton Howard; her husband Oscar T. Howard; and two grandsons John David Howard and James Burton Campbell. She is survived by: her sister Eleanor (Nell) Burton White; her son David Burton Howard and his wife Freddie Jean Howard; her daughter Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Howard Martin and her husband James Martin; her grandson Michael Burton Howard and his wife Tiffany Howard; her granddaughter Mary Anne Howard Forrest and her husband David Forrest; her grandson Howard Wayne Campbell; and her four great-granddaughters Rachel Forrest, Audrey Forrest, Taylor Howard and Caroline Howard. Interment will be in St. Francisville, Louisiana, Grace Church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 28, St. Francisville, Louisiana 70775.

Larry Lamar Parker Sr.
(September 11, 1946 - August 12, 2013)

On this day, August 12, 2013, Larry, the “Rock” of our family, has left his home with us to be in the house of the Lord. Throughout his life and many accomplishments he will be most remembered in our hearts and by all of those he touched for his wonderful sense of humor. Larry had the ability, no matter the situation, to bring a smile to our faces and a joy to our hearts. Although our hearts are breaking in our grief, we will use this precious memory each day to remind us to smile, to love, and be happy. What better gift could a man leave his family and friends? Larry Lamar Parker Sr, a resident of Jackson, LA, born in Meridian, MS, died on Monday, August 12, 2013 at his home with his loving wife by his side. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc in Clinton, LA on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 5pm until 8pm and then on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 9am until funeral services at 11am, conducted by Dr. Reggie Bridges. Burial will be in Dawson Family Cemetery. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Dianne Palmer Parker; one daughter, Leslie Parker Bigner of Jackson, LA; one son, Larry Bryan Parker of St. Francisville; his mother, Frances Estelle Parker Robson of St. Francisville; four sisters, Glenda Kimble, Barbara Smith, and Mary Morse of St. Francisville and Judy Posey of Mandeville; two brothers, Jerry Parker and his wife Donna of Holly Lake Ranch, TX and Lamar Parker and his wife Penny of Jackson, LA; and six grandchildren: Dalton Parker, Adalyn Boyd, Dawson Parker, Kathleen Bigner, Kolton Bigner, and Kaston Stokes. He was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Austin Parker, Sr.; son Larry Lamar Parker, Jr.; brothers in law, Marion “Cotton” Kimble, WJ Smith, David Posey, Thomas Morse and Dwight Magee; a niece Lindsay Weller, great-niece Lillie Smith, nephew Ray Tunstall, and great nephew Benjamin Kimble. Pallbearers will be Mitch Kimble, Brad Smith, Wade Weller, Mike Kimble, Jared Smith, and Nick Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be David Lamartiniere, William Bigner, and Gary Stokes. He was a 1964 graduate of St. Francisville High School, and continued his education at Southeastern University and Louisiana State University. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #31 in St. Francisville.

Robert Raymond "Ray" Tunstall
(July 21, 1967 - August 12, 2013)

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Robert Raymond “Ray” Tunstall, Jr., 46 of Zachary, Louisiana passed away August 12, 2013 with his family by his side. Ray was born in Mobile, Alabama on July 21, 1967. Ray greeted people with a smile and a handshake. He had a love for life which was centered around his wife, children, and family. Ray enjoyed fishing, golfing, Saints football, and coaching his children in many little league sports. He served in the Army National Guard in the 1980s. He leaves behind to cherish his wife Dena Kimble Tunstall of 17 years, three children: Allyson Paige, Austin Robert, and Ayden Cooper. Ray is also survived by his mother, Marcia Parks Hester of Moss Point, MS. His father and step-mother Robert Raymond Tunstall, Sr. and Bobbie Jean Tunstall. His sisters: Julia Howell and her husband Doug of Moss Point, MS; Rebecca Prestage of Moss Point, MS; Andrea Barton of Tuscaloosa, AL; his brother, Peyton Tunstall II of Zachary, whom he loved dearly; mother-in-law Glenda Parker Kimble; brothers-in-law Mitch Kimble and his wife Kathy of Baton Rouge; Mike Kimble and his wife Molly of Baton Rouge; sisters-in-law Carla Brown and her husband Joey; Dana Poole and her husband Britt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family. Ray is preceded in death by his baby sister, Mary Katherine Tunstall; father-in-law Cotton Kimble; brother-in-law Tony Prestage; step-father Roy Hester. Visitation will be held at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary, LA on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 10am until funeral services at 12noon. James Bear Scott
(July 25, 1941 - August 10, 2013)

Scott, James Bear, 72, a resident of Jackson, LA and native of Natchez, MS died on Saturday August 10, 2013 at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. Visiting will all be at Second Baptist Church in Jackson, where he was a member, on Tuesday August 13, 2013 from 10:00 am until service time at 3:00 pm conducted by Bro. Sylvester Giroir. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cheryl Scott, daughters, Karen Coleman and husband Buddy of Jonesville, LA, Misty Williams and husband Jason of West Monroe, LA, and Kim DiMauro and husband Jeff of Jonesville, LA and sons, Robert Allen Scott, Billy Wayne Scott and wife Shelly and James Anthony Scott "Tony" , all of Church Point, LA and Glynn M. Scott of Baton Rouge, Sisters, Etta Porterpan of Port Gibson, MS, Linda Scott of Natchez, MS, Selia Boothe of Mart, TX, and brothers, Michael Scott and wife Carol of Aberdeen, Scotland, John Scott and wife Shirley of Natchez, MS, Terry Morace and wife Nancy of Monterey, LA and Robin Morace of Mart, TX, 22 granchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a very special friend, Virginia Steele. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orland B. Scott and Mattie E. Morace, Sister, Anita Davidson, Brother, Lavell Morace and great grandchild, Aubre Anna DiMauro. Pallbearers will be Buddy Coleman, Coley Cater, Dexter Stevens, Michael DiMauro, Nick DiMauro, Allen Hensley, Trey Gulledge and Joey Harrell. Honorary Pallbearer is Rickey Herron.
