Thomas Lilly McVea "Tommy"
June 29, 1949 - May 13, 2012

McVea, Thomas "Tommy" Lilly, 62, died on Sunday, May 13, 2012. He was a resident of Atlanta, GA and native of The Plains. He was a mortgage broker for Silverton Mortgage Specialists, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. Visiting will all be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary, on Thursday May 17, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am until service time at 10:00 am conducted by Judge Retired Bob Downing. Burial will be in Young Family Cemetery, Zachary. He is survived by his sisters, Catherine Holleran and husband Tom "Whitey" of Atlanta, GA, Mary Alice Seal of Baton Rouge and Margaret Ann Adams and husband Lee of Central and Brother, Albert Neville "Bud" McVea III and wife Margaret "Peggy" of Milford, MI. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Bryan Hair and wife Dandan, Jean Capps and husband Robert, Julie Williams and husband John, Lelania Clarkson and husband Christian, Abbey Knight and husband Matthew and Seal Michael McVea and eleven great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Neville McVea Jr.; mother, Margaret G. McVea; and brother-in-law, Terry Seal. Pallbearers will be Kerry Steele, Patrick Meagher, Tom "Whitey" Holleran, Bill Straight, Albert Neville "Bud" McVea III and Sean Michael McVea. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Adams, Greg Smith, Jay Dufour, Tom Sima and Joey LeBella.

Hubert Paul Lemoine "PawPaw"
(June 22, 1932 - May 14, 2012)
U.S. Veteran

Lemoine, Hubert "Paw Paw" Paul, born June 22, 1932, a resident of Zachary, LA and native of Moreauville, LA died on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:15 p.m. at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was retired from the US Army as an SFC, National Guard MP and SGT from Baker Police Department. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visiting will continue at St. Isidore Catholic church in Baker on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 9 a.m until Mass at 10 a.m. conducted by Fr. Frank Bass. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker, LA. He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Liz and Sonny Devall of Jackson, Treba and Bubba Allen of Jackson, and Sabrina and Bob Whitaker of Zachary; two brothers, Norris Lemoine of Moreauville and Gerard Lemoine of Algiers; five grandchildren, Cheri Whitaker, Robbie Whitaker, Brandy Giroir, Bubbie Allen and Paul Dillion Allen; seven great-grandchildren, Austin Whitaker, Mason Martin, Landon Giroir, Logan Giroir, Laryn Giroir, Tristan Allen and Gage Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bernadine Tassin Lemoine; father, Nestor Lemoine; mother, Mabel Lemoine, and brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Sonny Devall, Ray Allen, Bob Whitaker, Bubbie Allen, Paul Allen, Robbie Whitaker and Shannon Giroir. Honorary pallbearers are Austin Whitaker and Landon Giroir. While in the US Army, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He enjoyed hanging out with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids, and fishing. He was also a lifelong member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree Black Knight with the Knights of Columbus 4085. He was awarded Baker Policeman of the year and dedicated many hours of service as umpire to Baker Little League. The family wishes to give special thanks to LA War Veterans Home and Staff in Jackson, LA and the Baker Police Department.

Jacqueline Noble "Jackie" Spitale
(May 22, 1940 - May 29, 2012)

A resident of Zachary, she died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Lane Regional Medical Center. She was 72 years old. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 5pm until 9pm and continues on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 8am until service at 10am conducted by Rev. Danny Grieg and Rev. Jimmy Robertson. Burial will be in Milldale Baptist Church Cemetery, Zachary. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Dave, Jr. and Patricia Ashford. A sister, Cathy Core. 3 grandchildren, Cheyenne Ashford, Margaret Ashford and Dustan Newman and wife, Christina. 2 great grandchildren, Alyssa and Gavin Newman. She is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Guy Spitale, parents, Alton and Luna Noble and a sister, Janice Sommers. Pallbearers will be Cheyenne Ashford, Jesse Core, Randy Core, Jacob Core, Matt Core and Ray Warner. Honorary pallbearer is James “Buddy” Norwood. She was a member of Milldale Baptist Church. Jackie was an avid animal lover. Special thanks to James “Buddy” Norwood and Ray Warner and his family for all the care and support given to us over the years. Also to Dr. Michael DeJohn and the staff at CIS Zachary for your compassion.

Hazel Jarreau Gardner
December 3, 1940 - May 29, 2012

Gardner, Hazel Jarreau, age 71, a resident of Jackson and native of Oscar, LA died on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Our Lady Of The Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She retired from East LA State Hospital in Jackson and Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. Visiting will be at Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church in Clinton on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 10:00 am until mass at 12noon conducted by Fr. Jeffery Bayhi. Burial will be at Second Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson, LA. She is survived by daughter, Faye Ivey and husband Jim of St.Francisville and step-daughter, Kay Hebert and husband CJ of Zachary,Sister, Virgie Ray and husband Lonnie of Plaquemine, four grandchildren, Haley Davis, Morgan Ivey, Zachary Ivey and James Jarreau, Jr., and three great grandchildren, Brody Ray Davis, Brantley Davis and Kaeson Ivey. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Abram Jarreau, second husband, George Gardner, parents, Henry and Rosalie Jarreau, daughter, Patrice "Penny" Jarreau, Son, James Jarreau, Sr., husband of Lynn Jarreau, sisters, Henrietta, Rosamary and Ida and brothers, Albert and Harold. Pallbearers will be Robert Davis, Jack Cutrer, Mike Jarreau, Jack Jarreau, LJ David, Bozo Jarreau and Freddy Guidroz. Honorary pallbearers are Lester David and Lonnie Ray. She was a member of Our Lady Of The Assumption Catholic Church in Clinton.

Faris S. Madanat, Sr.
(October 2, 1951 - May 24, 2012)

Faris S. Madanat, Sr., a resident of Ethel, LA, died on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc in Zachary, LA on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and then on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from 9 a.m. until services at 11:30 a.m., conducted by Rev. Donnie Shaffer. Burial will be in Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Belinda Necaise Madanat; three daughters, Farah Carruth and her husband Donald of Wilson, LA; Amber Price and her husband Stephen of St. Francisville; Samar Perry and her husband Phillip of Pensacola, FL; three sons: Fares S. Madanat Jr. of Denham Springs; Jordan Madanat of Baton Rouge; Jacob Madanat of Lafayette; mother Lulu Madanat of Wilmington, DE; two sisters, Lana Brittingham and her husband Keith of Wilmington, DE; and Samar Madanat of Wilmington, DE; one brother, Jonny Madanat of Wilmington, DE; eight grandchildren: Kaleb Coleman, Lathan Carruth, Seaira Price, Samarah Price, Ariel Price, Aden Price, Sahara Perry, and Marissa Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents Shawkat Ibrahim Madanat and Clotilde Isaac Madanat, and his brother Ibrahim Shawkat Madanat. Pallbearers will be Barry Kling, Stephen Price, Phillip Perry, and Donald Carruth. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a man who loved his family and was always willing to help those in need.

Nancy Dennard Kilbourne
(Died May 22, 2012)

A resident of East Feliciana Parish, she died on May 22nd, 2012. An accomplished artist, Miss Kilbourne received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from Louisiana Tech University in 1972 and her Masters of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University in 1974. She received further instruction at the New York Studio School in 1976. Miss Kilbourne is survived by her mother, Mrs. Nan D. Kilbourne, and her brothers, Messrs. Walter Heath Kilbourne and Richard Holcombe Kilbourne, Jr. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Richard Holcombe Kilbourne. Graveside services are private. Family members are grateful to the doctors and staff of the Greenwell Springs Hospital in Baton Rouge, the doctors and staff of South East Louisiana Hospital and the doctors and staff of the IC unit at Lake View Medical center in Mandeville for the loving care they generously gave to Miss Kilbourne over the course of many years. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to a favorite charity or The Thomas Young Auxiliary, C/O Ms. Allison Dillman, South East Louisiana Hospital, P.O. Josie C. Talbert
(July 26, 1921 - May 22, 2012)

Josie C. Talbert died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 5:35pm. She was 90 years old. Visiting will be at First Baptist Church in Zachary on Friday, May 25, 2012 from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Dr. Reggie Bridges and Dr. Wayne Barnes. Burial will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Alyce Talbert, Slaughter, 2 grandchildren, Ashley Woods and husband, Jason, Knoxville, TN and Jason Karns and wife, Dawn, Spring, TX. 6 great-grandchildren, Tyler Kohn, Parker Kohn, Kenzie Woods and Kayla Woods, all of Knoxville and Cooper Karns and Spencer Karns, Spring, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Carl Silas Talbert, parents, Jo and Alice Cutrer, 12 brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Bob Poole, Jason Karns, Jason Woods, Roy Vincik, Scott Baudouin and Ray Day. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. B.H. Brantley. Special thanks to Dr. Reagan Elkins for his wonderful care, nurses at Lane Home Health and St. Joseph Hospice and to her beloved caregiver, Annette Sandifer. She was very active in her church and church activities. She was an avid gardener and flower lady.
