Marvin D. Barker, 74, supervisor at GE plant

Marvin D. Barker never met a stranger. "He was very outgoing, " said Mr. Barker's son-in-law, Tim Corona, of Columbus, Ohio. "He could go up to anybody and start talking to them like he had known them all his life. He made friends very easily and he had a lot of friends." Mr. Barker, 74, of Florence, a retired supervisor at the General Electric Co. jet engine plant in Evendale, died at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. He was a Navy signalman in the Pacific during World War II and was a member of the Wilder post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of the Masonic lodge. Part of Mr. Barker's popularity was his skill telling stories. "He always told an interesting story about real life experiences, " said Corona. "I never heard him tell a boring story. It was always fascinating to be around him." Survivors include his wife, Margaret L. Parks Barker; a son, Rodney Barker of Florence; daughters, April Corona of Columbus, Ohio, and Holly Corbin of Taylor Mill; stepsons, Edward Johnson of Union and James E. Johnson of Erlanger; a stepdaughter, Jean Fogle of Union; a brother, Myron Linville Barker of Edgewood; sisters, Eris O'Dell Schultz of Susanville, Calif., Mabel June Christian of Covington, Gayle Lindquist of North Baltimore, Ohio, Leah Dawn Hall of Taylor Mill, Sharon Sibrel of Younts, Calif., and Paige Crail of Vallejo, Calif.; four grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. Services will be at noon Saturday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Entombment will be in Floral Hills Mausoleum, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to Boone-Union Lodge No. 304 F&AM, 1883 Mount Zion Road, Union, Ky. 41091.

Christopher E. Bramel, 29, of Maysville, died Tuesday in Bracken County in an auto accident. He was a meat processor with Kahns/Hillshire Farms, Alexandria, and attended Wallingford Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bethany Cannon Bramel; a son, Bradley Donovan Bramel, at home; a daughter, Jessica Mahailah Bramel, at home; and brothers, Everett E. "Buddy" Holland of Mays Lick and Michael D. Holland of Cincinnati.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brell Funeral Home, Maysville. Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. today. Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Bradley and Jessica Children's Fund, Firstar Bank, 33 W. Second St., Maysville, Ky. 41056.

Elsie C. Buckley, 88, of Ludlow, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired sales clerk for Lazarus department stores, and a member of First Baptist Church of Ludlow, Ludlow Senior Citizens and Vashti Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Vic Buckley, died in 1971.

Survivors include nephews, Gary Cole of Hebron and Ron Sellers of Sloans Valley; and nieces, Sherry Pegg of Ludlow, Rhonda Denterlien of Cincinnati, Fran Lounsbery of Atlanta and Trudy Cole of Ludlow.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Ludlow. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Ludlow, 400 Linden St., Ludlow, Ky. 41016.

Robert P. Drifmeyer, 62, of Warsaw, died Monday at his home. He was a disabled grocery store clerk.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Drifmeyer; sons, Jeffry Drifmeyer and Lonnie Drifmeyer, both of Erlanger, and Derek Drifmeyer, at home; brothers, Martin "Butch" Drifmeyer and Danny Drifmeyer, both of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren.

Memorial services were Wednesday at Ten Mile Baptist Church, Glencoe. Mr. Drifmeyer bequeathed his body to the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 333 Guthrie St., Suite 207, Louisville, Ky. 40202.

William Marvin Garrison, 77, of Burlington, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North, Covington. He was a retired employee of the Union Co., a member of Masonic Lodge No. 204 in Cincinnati and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include sons, Ricky Marvin Garrison of Gallatin County and Michael W. Garrison of Burlington; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Monday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Beaver Baptist Cemetery, Harrison County.

Alice B. Gorman, 101, of Covington, died Tuesday at Madonna Manor, Villa Hills. She was a retired professional secretary with the Railroad Retirement Board in Cincinnati and a member of Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Madonna Manor Chapel, Villa Hills. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Madonna Manor, 2344 Amsterdam Road, Villa Hills, Ky. 41017. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.

Roger "Bud" Harrison, 83, of Butler, died Tuesday at his home. He was a retired teacher at Northern Kentucky Vocational School, a member of Grants Lick Baptist Church and an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Harrison; sons, David C. Harrison of Sacramento, Calif., and Tim Harrison of Morning View; a daughter, Sherry K. Harrison of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Mildred Davis of Crittenden; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grants Lick Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 tonight at Peoples Funeral Home, Butler, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Grants Lick.

Gary L. Hewling, 66, of Florence, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was a retired yard conductor with CSX Railroad, a member of the United Transportation Union and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Hewling; daughters, Linda Hamilton and Lisa Evans, both of Erlanger, Karen Hewling of Warsaw and Kelly Hewling of Florence; a brother, Oakley Hewling Jr. of Florence; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Mausoleum, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, 8899 Brookside Ave., West Chester, Ohio 45069; or American Heart Association, P. O. Box 182039, Dept. 13, Columbus, Ohio 43218.

Ella Hydlebeerg, 66, of Pontiac, Mich., died at 11:02 p.m. Monday in Pontiac. She was a private duty nurse.

Survivors include daughters, Brenda Baskin and Sharon Marie Pride, both of Cincinnati, Denise Hydlebeerg of Covington and Deborah Davis of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Lucille Cook and Marjorie Raglin, both of Cincinnati, Bonnie Jackson-Wright and Rebecca Carey, both of Columbus, and Gloria Young and Esther Whyte, both of Covington; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchild ren. Services will be at noon Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Linden Grove Cemetery, Covington. Catchen Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

James W. Lutkenhoff, 71, of Troy, Mich., formerly of Bellevue, died Sunday at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. He was a regional service manager with Brunswick Balke and Collender Co., Cincinnati, a former member of the Belleve Volunteer Fire Department and a Coast Guard veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Bloomfield Lutkenhoff; a daughter, Nancy Nicholson; sons, Thomas Lutkenhoff and Michael Lutkenhoff; sisters, Sister Mary Joanne, S.N.D., and Virginia Stiers; a brother, Rev. Bernard Lutkenhoff; and five grandchildren.

Services were Thursday. Burial was in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. Memorials are suggested to Diocesan Catholic Children's Fund, 75 Orphanage Road, Fort Mitchell, Ky. 41017. A. J. Desmond Funeral Home, Troy, handled arrangements.

Julia Morgan, 82, of Crittenden, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Arrangements are pending at Eckler-Hudson Funeral Home, Dry Ridge.

Albert R. Mullen, 69, of Highland Heights, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a retired buffer with Schulte Brass Co. in Cincinnati and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Mullen; daughters, Deborah Johnson of Newport, Mary Lynn Meyers of Dayton, Karen Popp of Bellevue, Ruth Mullen of Cold Spring and Kimberly Hartig of Taylor Mill; sons, Michael Mullen of Butler and James Mullen of Indiana; sisters, Eleanor Harden of Highland Heights, Ethel Mea Bass of Newport, Jeanette Ruebush of Taylor Mill, JoAnn Runion and Mary Lou Arthur, both of Las Vegas; brothers, William Mullen and Robert Mullen, both of Fort Thomas; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Spirit Church, Newport.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

James Allen "Snoopy" O'Neill, 36, of Covington, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a self-employed painter and handyman.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Darlene and Raymond Boldt of Cincinnati; his father, Bobby O'Neill of Williamstown; brothers, Benjimen Boldt and Anthony Boldt, both of Cincinnati; sisters, Annette Skinner of Alexandria and Roberta Boldt of Erlanger; and grandmother, Dicey Griffin of Covington.

Memorial services will be at noon Sunday at 63 Racetrack Road, Alexandria. Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.

Lillie J. Rowland, 59, of Cincinnati, died Thursday at Mercy Franciscan Hospital, Cincinnati.

Arrangements are pending at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill.

Harold Souder, 74, of Erlanger, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

Arrangements are pending at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.

Mary Samuel Ray Tanner, 79, of Harrison County, died Thursday at Harrison Memorial Hospital, Cynthiana. She was a homemaker and a member of Cynthiana Baptist Church. She was a former member of First Christian Church of Fort Thomas and a member of Baptist Women of Mission Peak Group, Harrison County Garden Club, Renaker Homemakers and Campers on Mission. A son, Dr. George R. Tanner Jr., preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. George R. Tanner; a daughter, Sherry Greene of Fort Thomas; a brother, Johnny Ray of Clarksville, Ind.; a sister, Sue Ellen Stancil of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cynthiana Baptist Church.

Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Florence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Campers on Mission, in care of Cynthiana Baptist Church, P. O. Box 355, Cynthiana, Ky. 41031.

Margaret M. Washnock, 83, of Independence, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.

Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.
