Joseph J. Imhoff Sr., manager of Clover Leaf Dairy, councilman

Joseph J. Imhoff Sr. was a former Fort Thomas city council member who also ran the Clover Leaf Dairy in Newport.

Mr. Imhoff put his family ahead of making money and put his community ahead of himself, said a son, Joe Imhoff Jr. of Fort Thomas.

"He was a self-made man. He came out of the Depression, became president of his senior class and went to night school for eight years at UC," his son said.

"He worked day and night to support his family. He wasn't a rich man financially, but he was rich in everything else."

Mr. Imhoff, 76, of Fort Thomas, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.

He retired as general manager of Clover Leaf Dairy Newport and was a Fort Thomas city councilman in the 1960s.

Mr. Imhoff was heavily involved in the Fort Thomas Centennial Celebration in June 1967, his son said.

Mr. Imhoff retired about 15 years ago and decided then to invest his remaining years in his grandchildren.

"He loved to watch his grandchildren play sports every possible minute that he could," Joe Imhoff Jr. said. "After his retirement, he dedicated his life to his grandchildren."

Mr. Imhoff was a member of the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce, Newport Optimists, the Fort Thomas Business Men's Club and St. Thomas Parish County in Fort Thomas. He was a past president of the Kiwanis Club and the Greater Cincinnati Dairy Association. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hardin Imhoff; daughters, Kathy Buten of Fort Thomas, Cindy Hetteberg of Highland Heights and Chris Simon of Alexandria; sons, David Imhoff of Orlando, Fla., and Dan Imhoff of Cincinnati; sisters, Ruth Allen of Seymour, Ind., Frances Ailes and Elma Hill, both of Sidney, Ohio; a brother, Charles Imhoff of Riverview, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to St. Thomas Church, 26 E. Villa Place, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.

James Cook Beckett, 60, of Cynthiana, died Sunday at his home.

Survivors include a son, James Carl Beckett of Mount Olivet; a daughter, Fonda Childers of Flemingsburg; a stepdaughter, Tina Sullivan of Corinth; and four grandchildren.

No services are planned. His body was donated to the University of Kentucky Body Bequethal Program. Memorials are suggested to Harrison County Humane Society, Cynthiana, Ky. 41031. Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana, is handling arrangements.

Cecil R. Coker, 70, of Taylor Mill, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday at his residence.

Arrangements are pending at Connley Bros. Funeral Home, Latonia.

Hazel Delehanty, 86, of Bellevue, died Monday at Wesley Hall Nursing Home, Cincinnati. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Joseph Delehanty, died in 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Calloway of Bellevue; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, is handling arrangements.

Phyllis E. Harsin, 56, of Verona, died at 2:45 a.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She taught at Gallatin County Middle School in Warsaw for 24 years and was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church and the Gallatin County chapter of the American Red Cross. She was a cheerleading sponsor for more than 20 years.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Harsin; a daughter, Debbie Hignite of Sparta; a son, Douglas Harsin of Verona; a brother, Gary Lillard of Glencoe; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Napoleon Cemetery, Gallatin County. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, Warsaw, Ky. 41095.

Catherine Hnat, 87, of Florence, died Sunday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence.

Arrangements are pending at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.

Christine Holloway, 85, of Highland Heights, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.

Arrangements are pending at Peoples Funeral Home, Grants Lick.

Betty D. Hunter, 47, of Perry Park, died Friday at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church, Owen County.

Survivors include a daughter, Eleanora W. Parks of San Antonio; a son, Adam Haas Hunter of Perry Park; her mother, Mary Iva Felts Dixon of San Antonio; and a brother, Dean W. Dixon of San Antonio.

Memorial services will be at the convenience of the family. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton, is handling arrangements.

Lawrence J. Kelly, 48, of Erlanger, died Monday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was a retired facilities clerk with Cincinnati Bell Telephone and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Kelly; a son, Aaron Kelly of Ludlow; a daughter, Jacinda Kelly of Erlanger; and one grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Melvin "Bud" Lemons, 72, of Walton, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit in Covington. He was a retired bartender for Greyhound Grill and a military veteran. He was a member of St. Paul Church, Florence; American Legion Post No. 20, Elsmere; Kelly Furnish VFW Post No. 7099, Covington; and Ralph Fulton VFW Post No. 6423, Elsmere. His wife, Mary Sue Lemons, died in 1992.

Survivors include sisters, Helen Benson of Covington and Christine Estes of Erlanger.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.

Florence Martz, 73, of Alexandria, died at 3:25 a.m. Sunday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a waitress with the Frisch's Restaurant in Newport.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Martz; daughters, Gerry Lyn Martz of Bradenton, Fla., and Peggy Ann Zeph of Cincinnati; a son, Randall Martz of Edgewood; a sister, Ruby Wilder of Highland Heights; and a brother, Kenneth Zion of Alexandria.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen cemetery Chapel, Southgate. Visitation will begin there at noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 7730 U. S. 42, Suite C6, Florence, Ky. 41042. Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.

Minnie L. May, 90, of Florence, died Sunday at Woodspoint Nursing Home in Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of Florence Baptist Church. Her husband, Cecil May, died in 1998.

Survivors include a stepson, Frank E. May of Florence; a sister, Louise Davidson of Norwood, Ohio; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to Florence Baptist Church, 283 Main St., Florence, Ky. 41042.

Helen Northcutt Oder, 81, of Latonia, died Saturday at Rosedale Manor in Latonia. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include daughters, Helen Berwanger of California and Cecelia Wolfe of Newport; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Her body was donated to University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. Memorials are suggested to Rosedale Manor Activities Department, 4250 Glenn Ave., Covington, Ky. 41015.

Margaret Schuerman, 80, of Latonia, died Monday at Florence Park Care Center, Florence.

Arrangements are pending at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Latonia.

Evelyn Shepard, 69, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Highland Heights, died Sunday at her daughter's home. She was an inspector with Hughes Aircraft. Her husband, Charles E. Shepard Sr., died in 1989.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Clark of Newport and Mary Loveless of Lodi, Ohio; a son, Charles E. Shepard Jr. of Tucson; and many grandchildren.

Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas, is handling arrangements.

Jewel Gruseck Stacey, 72, of Florence, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence.

Arrangements are pending at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.

Mary Straub, 87, of Pendleton County, died Monday at River Valley Nursing Home, Butler.

Arrangements are pending at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth.

Lawrence Daniel Wambaugh Jr., 59, of Fort Thomas, died Friday at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati. He was an employee of the Cincinnati Water Works and a member of Fleet Reserve Association. A daughter, Linda Ann Wambaugh, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Marie Gindhart Wambaugh; a daughter, Carol Denham; a brother, Eugene Wambaugh of Cincinnati; sisters, Carol Wambaugh, Janice Wambaugh and Judith Smallwood; and three grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was this morning at Holy Family Church, Cincinnati. Burial was in St. Joseph New Cemetery, Cincinnati. Memorials are suggested to Oasis of Peace, 603 E. McMicken St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45210; or in the form of spiritual remembrances. Harry Meyer and Geiser Funeral Home, Cincinnati, handled arrangements.

Eugene "Dudy" Webster, 75, of Williamstown, died Monday at Grant Manor Heath Care Center in Williamstown. He was a farmer and former mechanic with Snow's Garage, Sherman. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Helen Marie Dawalt Webster, preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughters, Roxann Ferguson of Williamstown and Nancy Marie Webster of Butler; sons, Larry Lee Webster of Covington, Leo Eugene Webster of Ludlow, Warner Lawrence Webster of Demossville, Phillip Lynn Webster of Gardnersville and Walter Blaine Webster of Dry Ridge; a sister, Mary Ruth Davis of Owenton; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

No services are planned. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Burial will be in Webster Family Cemetery, Knoxville-Gardnersville Road, Pendleton County.

Mary Zumwalt, 73, of Covington, died Saturday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. She was a self-employed house cleaner. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, Barboursville.

Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, is handling arrangements.
