Ralph Taylor, 89, of Hiram, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2004 at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna following a brief illness. Born June 10, 1915 in Hiram, he spent his life farming. He enjoyed hunting and trapping and was a Cleveland Indians baseball fan. Survivors include his wife, Eunice (Fountain) Taylor, whom he married June 14, 1958; brother, Harold of Kensington, Ohio and sisters, Elsie Kainrad of Palmyra and Edna Gross of Ravenna. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marie (Urbanowicz) Taylor and brothers, Ben and Richard. Calling hours are Thursday 6-8 P.M. and Friday one hour prior to the 11 A.M. Funeral Service at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Hiram.

Deborah E. Mullenax Kimak
Deborah E. Mullenax Kimak, 33, of Nelson Twp. passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at her residence. Born June 28, 1971 in Ravenna, Ohio, she was a "1989" Windham High School Graduate and a dispatcher at the Windham Police Dept. She loved softball and time spent with her husband and Ariel. She is survived by her husband, Darren of Nelson whom she married July 18, 1991; daughter, Ariel Kristine of Nelson; parents, Bud and Rilla (Fairfield) Mullenax of Windham; brothers, James (Deanne) Snodgrass of Marlboro, New Jersey, Glenn Mullenax of Windham, Richard Mullenax of North Carolina and Larry Mullenax of Windham; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Henry Snodgrass. Calling hours are Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2004 from 6-8 P.M. and Thursday from 10-11 A.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 A.M. with Rev. J.W. Board officiating. Burial will be in Windham Twp. Cemetery.

Evelyn Fern Neumann
Evelyn Fern Neumann (nee Williams), 72 of Brunswick, previously of Rocky River passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at Medina General Hospital. She was born March 31, 1932 in Slovan, Pennsylvania to Henry and Della (nee Norman) Williams. She was an architectural designer for Fred Neumann Design, a member of Grace Baptist Church, enjoyed floral designing, antique furniture, and fellowship with friends. Friends may call on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 7:30 with Funeral Services at 7:30 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick.

Helen Konczal
Helen Konczal (nee Urban), 92 of Brunswick, previously of Grafton passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at WillowWood Care Center. She was born March 6, 1912 in Lorain to Anthony and Hattie Urban and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Guild of Assumption Church, enjoyed reading romance and mystery novels, and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter Dorothy (Frederick) Rouse; sister Lottie Barrows; grandchildren David (Peggy) Rouse, Donna (Lee) Graves, Fred Rouse Jr., and Ruth Natterer; great-grandchildren Rick (Carolyn) Rager, Angela Rager, Matt Rouse, Nick Rouse, and Kenneth Natterer; and great-great-grandson Brennan Richard Rager. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Konczal; son Joseph A. Konczal; her parents; sister Verna (Frank) Rubalewski; brothers Stanley (Irene) Urban, Joseph Urban, and Frank Urban. Friends may call on Monday, October 11, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Assumption Church in Grafton. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Ronald C. Fogle
Ronald C. Fogle, 60 of Medina passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Medina General Hospital. He was born July 5, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Charles F. and Salvatora (nee Santora) Fogle. He was a laborer in manufacturing. He is survived by his mother Salvatora; brother Paul (Carol) Fogle; and nephew Paul Fogle. He was preceded in death by his father Charles. Friends may call on Thursday, October 7, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. with Parastis at 7:30 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Interment will be private by the family.

Jean A. Martin
Jean A. Martin, 74, of Kent, formerly of Garrettsville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. She was born May 11, 1930 to the late Michael and Mae (Kubick) Soltis and worked as a plastics assembler for 4 Seasons Construction in Garrettsville. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Doris) of Elizabethtown, Ky. and Timothy (Cindi) of Kent; sister, Anne Cecora of Ravenna; grandchildren, Jennifer, Anna and Holly; and great-grandchildren Amanda, Steven, Timmy, Joy and Ashley. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004 from 6-8 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with the family receiving friends 1 hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Park cemetery in Garrettsville.

Ronald "Joe" Sovie
Ronald "Joe" Sovie, 67 of Brunswick passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at his residence. He was born June 12, 1937 in Bayshore Long Island, New York to Joseph J. and Marion Eva (nee Merkley) Sovie. He worked for NASA Glenn Research Center for 42 years before retiring in 2003. He is survived by his wife Donna (nee Collins) Sovie; children Amanda (Greg) Gilbert; Amy (Robert) Jankovsky, Kerry Sovie, and Ronald "R.J." (Erica) Sovie; brothers David Sovie and Daniel Sovie; grandchildren Holly Gilbert, Robert Jankovsky, Anna Jankovsky, Grace Gilbert, and Miranda Gilbert. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, Brunswick. Lester E. Wearsch
Lester E. Wearsch, 87 of Medina passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at Medina Meadows. He was born July 3, 1917 in Avon Lake to Henry J. and Marcia M. (nee Codney) Wearsch. He was Co-owner of Longview Farms and a United States Army Veteran serving in WW II as a Staff Sargent. He was a long time member of Medina Eagles, Medina Moose Charter Member, St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, and member of American Legion of Medina. He is survived by his children Nancy (Roger) Pratt of Vandalia, Ralph Wearsch of Sedona Arizona, Carol (Emerson) Keck of Clayton, and Marcia (Blaine Conley) Blevins of Hudson; grandchildren Renee Kistler, Ryan Pratt, Timothy Keck, Brett (Lauren) Keck, Matthew Keck, and Jennifer Blevins; and great-grandchildren Justin and Kylie Kistler. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn (nee Strong) Wearsch; brothers Ranson, Delbert, and Leslie Wearsch; and sister Grace Schroeder. Wilbert L. Savage
Wilbert L. Savage of North Ridgeville passed away on October 2, 2004. He was born in Sang Run, Maryland to Wilbert N. and Mabel I. Savage. He was a laborer for Water Lock Chemical Company of Cleveland for 17 years before retiring in 1997. He is survived by his children Darlene (Jack) Popovich of Avon Lake and Tracy Barbarotta of Elyria; his mother of Connellsville, Pennsylvania; brothers Kenneth (Phillis) Savage of Canton and Bryan (Patricia) Savage of West Palm Beach, Florida; and granddaughter Holly Christine Popovich. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen and his father. Leona P. Sampson
Leona P. Sampson, 40 of Brunswick passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at Medina General Hospital. She was born March 20, 1964 in Cleveland to Ralph G. and Patricia (nee Knapp) Ohmer, Jr. She was employed in janitorial services, enjoyed bingo, and collected mushrooms, elephants, and butterflies. She also enjoyed traveling to Florida. She is survived by her children Charles M., Lucas W., Audra L., and Alicia C. Sampson; her mother; brothers Michael V. and George R. Ohmer; sister Tammy Ohmer; fiancee Vince Liebenguth; very special friend Joy Cox; and grandson Austin Earl Jackson. She was preceded in death by her father. Lena A. (Rucks) Barker
Lena A. (Rucks) Barker, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren following heart failure. She was born December 4, 1927 in Burnsville, W.Va. to the late Charles S. and Mary Lizabeth (Singleton) Rucks. Lena worked at the Ravenna Arsenal, Howard Johnson's and then retired from Packard Electric in 1982. A Windham resident from 1952-1969, she has lived in Warren for 35 years. Lena lovingly and honorably raised 3 children on her own and will leave a hollow place in their lives. They include her son, Larry, (Valerie) Barker of Westerville; daughters, Marilyn (Tom) Brown of Warren and Peggy (Tom) Rising of Garrettsville. She has 5 grandchildren, Lisa Brown (Charlie) Irving of Va., Kristin Brown of Warren, Rev. Chad (Wendy) Rising of Commerce, Ga., Ben (Melody) Rising of Windham and Jason Barker of Columbus. Her 5 great-grandchildren are Zachary and Jarrod Cain, Blain Rising, Noah and Alaina Rising. Lena's brother, Charles "Bud" Rucks is still living in Charleston, W.Va. Lena is preceded in death by sisters, infant, Monalee Dale Rucks and Pauline (Rucks) Angus and brothers, Rondal and Russel. Private Graveside Services will be held on Friday at Windham Twp. cemetery with Rev. Chad Rising officiating. YOur thoughts and prayers will be greatly appreciated. Arrangements were made by Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, Garrettsville.

Michael Vrabel
Michael Vrabel, 74 of Lodi, passed away on September 26, 2004 at Akron General Medical Center. He was born October 5, 1929 in Tower Hill, Pennsylvania to Steven and Katherine (nee Bakas) Vrabel. He married Rosemarie (nee Martincic) Vrabel on January 18, 1974. Michael retired from LTV Steel in 1985 after 36 1/2 years of service as supervisor. He was a resident of Medina County and lived in Florida in the winter. He was an avid golfer and was always there to help family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie; children Michael, Tim, and Renee; step-children Jeanne (Wally) Cogar, Bill (Amy) Hawes, Debbie Hawes, and Dolly (Jim) Hanreck; sisters Helen Kalwasinski and Mary Lou Stanko; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded indeath by his step son Denny Hawes and brother John Vrabel. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Triangle Baptist Church, 7156 Hunter Drive, Chippewa Lake, with Rev. Bobby Wheeler officiating. Family Services provided by Carlson Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road), Medina.

Richard Bizon
Richard S. Bizon, 42 of Wellington, previously of Hinckley, passed away on Wednesday September 22, 2004 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born September 18, 1962 in Garfield to Stephan and Romualda (nee Los) Bizon. He was self-employed in the tree service industry and enjoyed rock climbing, fishing, hunting, and every outdoor adventure possible, including family camping and travel. He was a 1980 graduate of Valley Forge in Parma and a graduate of Cuyahoga Community College. He is survived by his wife of 18 years Sherri (nee Nash) Bizon; children Sierra L. and Cheyenne L. Bizon; parents; brother Jerry Bizon; grandmother Leokadia Los; nephew Christopher; niece Aleece; and was son-in-law of Vickie & Sam Paladino and Bob & Dee Nash. He was preceded in death by his sister Halina. Friends may call on Sunday, September 26, 2004 from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road), Medina. Funeral Cortege will leave the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. and will gladly meet others for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bartholomew Church, 14865 E. Bagley Road, Middleburg Heights. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.

Alan Cechura
Alan Cechura, 58 of North Olmsted passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Manor Care of North Olmsted. He was born April 4, 1946 in Cleveland to Lawrence and Adela (Rukart) Cechura. He is survived by his sons Richard, Anthony, and Domonic Cechura and his mother Adela Cechura. Family Services provided by Carlson Funeral Home, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick.

Mary Ellen Schumacher
Mary Ellen Schumacher, 95, of Montgomery, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2004. She was born January 11, 1909 in Hiram, Ohio to the late Willis and Alice (Whitney) Ryder. She was the loving wife of the late George Schumacher, who died in 1983; beloved mother of Don (Mary) and Frank; grandmother of Christopher, Catherine (Murray), Ryan, and Adam; step-grandmother to Lisa Tosh and Lori Gamble; loving great-grandmother of Peter, Caroline, Matthew, Sarah, Patrick, Jack, Michael, and Gillian. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, Garrettsville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in Riverside Cemtery, Hiram Rapids.
