Paul Dorman, loved fishing, woodworking

Paul Douglas Dorman used to love getting up early in the morning and fishing in one of the lakes at Ryland Lakes Country Club.

His wife, Billie, said he also took fishing trips to places in Canada.

"Oh, he loved fishing, " she said.

Mr. Dorman, 86, of Taylor Mill, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

He also enjoyed gardening, building model railroads and woodworking, she said.

His dad taught him how to woodwork. Eventually he got skilled enough to make cabinets.

Granddaughter Tricia Dorman said he was a "so-so" golfer but a "wonderful grandfather to all of us."

Mr. Dorman enjoyed traveling, she said. He took a few trips to Europe when his daughter lived overseas.

He was a retired employee of the L&N; Railroad claims department, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Ryland Heights.

In addition to his wife and granddaughter, survivors include sons, Michael Douglas Dorman and Dennis Paul Dorman, both of Taylor Mill; a daughter, Pamela Ann Lyons of Whispering Pines, N.C.; six other grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Ryland Heights. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 10283 Decoursey Pike, Ryland Heights, Ky. 41015. Swindler & Currin Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.

Betty Jane Anderson, 80, of Alexandria, died Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Irvin E. Anderson, and a son, Greg Anderson, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Joseph Anderson of Alexandria and Michael Anderson of California; brothers, Charles Bruener of Mount Auburn, Gerald Bruener and Terrence Bruener, both of Melbourne; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Alexandria. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Alexandria. Alexandria Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Margaret Alma Anderson, 75, of Florence, died Monday at Cardinal Hill Specialty Hospital, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker and a member of Community Pentecostal Church of God, Taylor Mill.

Survivors include sons, Gregory Krummen, Steven Krummen, and Terry Krummen, all of Florence; daughters, Janice Jordan and Paula Stanley, both of Florence; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Friday at Community Pentecostal Church of God, Taylor Mill. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Covington. Stith Funeral Home, Florence, is handling the arrangements.

Gaynelle Simpkins Andes, 64, of Corinth, died Tuesday at University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Ethan Andes Sr.; sons, Rodney Andes of El Paso, Texas, Albert Andes Jr. of Crittenden, and Edward Andes of Radcliff; daughters, Theresa Crockett of Cleveland, Ohio, and Karen Lynn Andes of Matoon, Wis.; brothers, Gene Simpkins, Leo Simpkins Jr., Teddy Simpkins and Brian Simpkins, all of Huntington, W.Va., and Freddy Simpkins of Tomball, Texas; sisters, Betty Kitts of Ceredo, W.Va., Ida Gomer of Willoughby Hills, Ohio, Carol Finley of Huntington, W.Va., and Evelyn Thompson of Bolingbrook, Ill; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Visitation will begin there at noon today. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Jonathon R. Biedenharn, 25, of Pekin, Ill., formerly of Crittenden, died Monday at Pekin Hospital in Pekin.

Arrangements are pending at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.

Richard L. Carr, 64, of Cold Spring, died Monday at his residence. He was a chemist at the U.S. Food and Drug Agency and the Environmental Protection Agency. He was an Army veteran and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Fort Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Carr; sons, Steve Carr of Dayton and Mark Carr of Mason, Ohio; a daughter, Beth Volk of Woodlawn; and seven grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Fort Thomas. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1803 N. Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.

Clarence Clifton, 68, of Erlanger, died Monday at University Hospital, Cincinnati. He was the owner of Gillespie's Towing and an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Clifton; a son, Michael Clifton of Glencoe; a daughter, Vickie Jacobs of Erlanger; a brother, Plummer Clifton of Union; a sister, Alice Moore of Florence; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to Erlanger-Elsmere Schools, 500 Graves Ave., Erlanger, Ky. 41018.

Marie Schwall England, 97, of Independence, died Monday at Rosedale Manor, Latonia. She was a retired membership secretary from the Cincinnati Credit Bureau and a member of Independence Christian Church. Her husband, Edward Russell England, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Russell England of Independence; a daughter, Mollyann Childers of Independence; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Swindler & Currin Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Independence Christian Church, 5221 Madison Pike, Independence, Ky. 41051.

Jayne E. Forrest, 82, of Covington, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth North Hospice, Covington. She was a retired secretary from the U.S. government office in Cincinnati.

Survivors include her husband, Stan Forrest; a sister, Ruth Drahmann of Covington; and her caregiver, Vickey Patrick of Alexandria.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Visitation will begin there at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery, Cincinnati.

Lynn A. Folk, 54, of Covington, died Feb. 17 at her residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. C&C; Mortuary Service, Covington, is handling the arrangements.

Ronald C. Fryman, 66, of Augusta, died Sunday at his residence. He was a retired machinist. His wife, June Fryman, preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons, Lonnie Fryman of Dade City, Fla., Terry Fryman and Robert Fryman, both of Land O Lake, Fla.; and brothers, Louie Fryman and Butch Fryman, both of Augusta.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home, Augusta. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday. Mr. Fryman will be cremated.

Ruth Gibson, 76, of Corona, Calif., formerly of Latonia, died Saturday at her residence. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons, Glen Carey of Riverside, Calif., Rock Carey and James Carey, both of Auburn, Calif., and Andrew Carey of Mira Loma, Calif.; daughters, Sharon Carey and Ruth Wilson, both of Corona, Calif., Kathleen Gloudeman of Vancouver, Wash., Michele Birt and Pamela Gibson, both of Riverside, Calif.; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Church, Latonia. There is no visitation. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Don Catchen & Son Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling the arrangements.

Russell Gribble, 84, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of Covington, died Sunday at Hospice of Port Orange, Fla. He was the retired owner of Gribble Foundry, Covington, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bradford Masonic Lodge No. 123, Scottish Rite, and VFW Post No. 1484, Park Hills.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Gribble; sons, Raymond Gribble of Killen, Texas, Richard Gribble of Lakeland, Fla., Robert Gribble of Dry Ridge, Rodney Gribble and Russell Gribble, both of Covington; a daughter, Melody Brumfield of Lubbock, Texas; stepsons, Michael Gibson of Daytona Beach, Fla., Thomas Gibson of Warsaw, David Gibson of Independence, Robert Hughes and Kenneth Hughes, both of Covington, Thomas Hughes of Florence, and Mark Hughes of Gaffney, S.C.; stepdaughters, Pam Hughes, Roxanne Oldyis, and Lisa Conley, all of Covington; 30 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Masonic services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday with regular services following at 1:45 p.m. at Don Catchen & Son Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at noon Friday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill.

E. Marie Hanifin, 83, of Fort Wright, died Tuesday at Rosedale Manor, Covington. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright, and the Covington YMCA. Her husband, Dr. Thomas E. Hanifin, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Michael J. Hanifin of Fort Wright and F. Timothy Hanifin of Florence; a daughter, Patricia E. Powell of Louisville; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville. Memorials are suggested to the Kenton County Animal Shelter, 1020 Mary Laidley Drive, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41017.

Frances Elizabeth Andrea Ice, 86, of Prosser, Wash., formerly of Newport, died Friday at Kadlee Medical Center, Richland, Wash. Her husband, Woody Ice, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Neal Ice of Prosser; a daughter, Donna Ice of Grandview, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Friday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Donald "Buckwheat" Klette Jr., 19, of Florida and formerly of Covington, died Feb. 21 as a result of a fishing boat accident in the Gulf of Mexico. He was a fisherman.

Survivors include his parents, Donald and Geraldine Klette Sr. of Covington; and his grandparents, Clay and Marge Hall Sr. of Covington.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Don Catchen & Son Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Brother Frazier Oldham Sr., 47, of Cynthiana, formerly of Bourbon County, died Monday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. He was a retired bus driver from the Bourbon County School District and a member of Jimtown Baptist Church, Fayette County.

Survivors include his wife, Rose L.J. Jackson Oldham; a son, Frazier Oldham Jr. of Georgetown; a daughter, Dawnyell M. Oldham of Lexington; brothers, Van Ray Boyd of Kansas, Kenneth O'Neil Oldham and William Oldham, both of Winchester, Daryl Oldham of Paris, and Gary Oldham of Florence; a sister, Brenda Adair of Cynthiana; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Jimtown Baptist Church. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. today. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Bourbon County. Edward J. Rust, 89, of Cold Spring, died Tuesday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport.

Kathleen L. "Cat" Sayers, 31, of Melbourne, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a warehouse worker at Chicago Rawhide.

Survivors include a daughter, Dominque Skyler of Melbourne; a stepdaughter, Ashley Helton of Melbourne; and brothers, Dan Kinman, Doug Kinman, Gary Kinman, Jerry Kinman, and Tim Kinman, all of Edgewood.

Services will be at noon Friday at Alexandria Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Alexandria Cemetery.

Lafe Spencer Smith Sr., 79, of Warsaw, died Monday at Gallatin Health Care Center, Warsaw. He was a farmer and a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw. His wife, Dorothy Jean Kirby Smith, preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons, Lafe "Skip" Smith Jr. and Joseph William Smith, both of Warsaw; a daughter, Margaret Kirby Smith of Littleton, Colo.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church, 207 W. High St., Warsaw, Ky. 41095.

Iva Bibb Thompson, 83, of Ghent, died Tuesday at Owenton Manor Nursing Facility. She was a homemaker and a member of Ghent Baptist Church and Women on Missions. Her daughter, Paula Thompson Pennington, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Howard Bibb Thompson and Thomas Scott Thompson, both of Ghent; sisters, Pauline Bibb of Carrollton and Ruth Ligon of Sanders; and three grandchildren.

Martha Tucker Wachter, 43, of Augusta, died Tuesday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of Augusta Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jackie Wachter, Sr.; sons, Daniel Wachter of Brooksville, Matt Wachter, Gary Wachter, and Nathan Wachter, all of Augusta, and Jackie Wachter, Jr., of California; her mother, Joan L. Teegarden of Brooksville; a brother, Shirley Tucker, Jr., of Brooksville; sisters, Elizabeth Hatcher, Annie Eddie, Crystal Tucker, and Leslie Tucker, all of Brooksville; and five grandchildren.

Leroy Wade, 73, of Nicholasville, died Tuesday at Hospice Care Center, Lexington. He was a retired self-employed floor refinisher and a member of New Hope Fellowship Church. A son, Shawn Wade, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Wade; a son, Lee Wade of Lexington; a daughter, Nanette Feltner of Lexington; and six grandchildren.

Juanita Mae Johnson White, 58, of Carrollton, died Sunday at University Hospital, Louisville. She was a home health nurse and a member of Moose Lodge, Madison, Ind.

Survivors include a son, Garrett Dulin of Louisville and a daughter, Melvaline Rose of Bedford; brothers, Joel Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, and Leon Johnson, all of Carrollton, Glenn Johnson of Sparta, and Clayborn Johnson of Huntsville, Tenn.; sisters, Jewel Wolfe of Carrollton, Barbara Burkhardt of Millton, and Mildrene Morris of Charlestown, Ind.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Graham-Dunne Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Carrollton IOOF Cemetery.
