Clifford Leon (C.L.) Bannister, Wasola, born on May 12, 1932, in Myrtle, Miss., the son of Jim and Dessie Lee (Staks) Bannister.
On April 24, 1950 Clifford was united in marriage with Emily Phillips at Humble, Texas, and to this union four children were death were his parents, Jim and Dessie Lee, his wife, Emily, and one daughter, Phyllis. He was also preceded in Cemetery near Gainesville. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial gifts be made to the Comfort Care Hospice.
Robert Leroy Burns, 69

Robert Leroy Burns was married Nancy Kay Cover. Bob and Nancy decided to move to Missouri in 2000. They fell in love with the Missourians and friendliness of their neighbors. They enjoyed Missouri Fox Trotters even before moving to Missouri.
A celebration of life memorial service was held Tuesday, May 1, at 10 a.m., at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Bob served as chairman of the board for SMMBCH, president of DCFTHBA Affiliate, and chairman of the MFTHBA Trail Committee. He also served on the Ethics Committee, Budget and Finance Committee and is a lifetime member of the MFTHBA. He was also a member in good standing with the Ava Saddle Club. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice in care of the funeral home.
Darrell R. Shortt, 73

Darrell R. Shortt, 73, born on July 28, 1931, in Ongo, Mo., the son of Lee and Nora Shortt. He was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Kathleen Nelson on June 17, 1952.
Darrell graduated from Ava High School in Ava. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving four years, during the Korean conflict. After serving on active duty, Darrell returned to Missouri and became a Reservist, serving eight years. He also began working for Sho-Me Power Coop in Marshfield, retiring after 37 years.
Darrell also served his community through many clubs and organizations. Some of those included being a master Mason and a past master of the Sparta Lodge, No. 296 and DDGM of the Grand Lodge of Missouri. He was also a member of the Eastern Star in Sparta, Abou Ben Adhem Temple, Springfield, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J. USA in Joplin, as well as the American Legion, Webster County Post No. 142.
Darrell became a Christian as a teenager and was baptized in Swan Creek. He was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church of Marshfield.
Darrell was preceded in Cemetery.

Turrell Samuel Waggoner, 65

Turrell Samuel "Sam" Waggoner born Aug. 3, 1941, in the Arno community, the son of Turrell and Bessie (Means) Waggoner.
Sam owned and operated the Waggoner concrete business in Kansas City for a number of years.
Sam was a quiet, lovable human being, and was liked by everyone who knew him. As a small child he played the pump organ to the delight of his family.
He spent many happy hours hunting and fishing at his five-acre camp site, accompanied by his dog, Jack.
He is survived by three sons, Dale, Bill and Brandon; two daughters, Tammy and Sonja Anne; several grandchildren; his companion Peggy Clark; and many nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by four sisters, Mavis McAvoy, of Salisbury, Md., Frances Roelke, of Knoxville, Md., Lois Moore, Ledyard, Conn., and Mary Kreisvelt, Tulsa, Okla.
Services were held on April 17 at the White Chapel Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Bob Morris. Cemetery, Braymer, Mo.
He was preceded in born in the small community of Larissa, Mo., on April 3, 1922, to Henry and Mertie McFarlin. Wesley death by his parents Henry and Mertie McFarlin, four sisters, Juanita Green, Mae McFarlin, Nancy DeBruyne and Cecil Caldwell; and two brothers, Neil and Robert McFarlin.
Surviving are his companion of 17 years, Judy; a son, Jim McFarlin and wife, Ann, of Fort Smith, Ark.; two daughters, Becky Lindstrom and husband, Howard, of Loves Park, Ill., and Bev Nidey and husband, Floyd, of LeClaire, Iowa; two sisters, Velma Chapell and Betty Newberry, both of Ava; 13 grandchildren, Marcie and Tom Howard, Melissa and Andy Tervelt, Matt and Kelly Lindstrom, Mindy Lindstrom, Bridgette Nidey-Brown, Adam and Darcy Nidey, Sarah and Kevin McGinty, Holly and Mike Finegan, Sheryl and Craig Harrison, David and Christie McFarlin, Michael and Catrena Lee, Patrick and Shea Lee, and Steve and Denene McFarlin; and 22 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 18, at 2 p.m., at Ava Family Funeral Home, Ava, with Randy Dalton officiating. Burial followed in White's Creek Cemetery or Star Chapel.
Arthur Johnny McCarty, 49

Arthur Johnny McCarty, son of Leo McCarty and Wynona Bernadine Linder McCarty, was death by his father, Leo, and his grandparents, Art and Jerd Linder and John and Rena McCarty.
He is survived by his mother, Wynona "Moni" McCarty Hicks, Norwood; his fiancé, Robin Shelton, Norwood; three children, Justice McCarty and Arthur Johnny McCarty Jr., both of Texas, and Jennifer Lynn McCarty, state of Illinois; two sisters, Frances Adams, state of Texas, and Leslie McCarty, state of Iowa; two brothers, Matt McCarty and David McCarty, both of Iowa; two special great-nephews, Alex and Aaron Underwood, Norwood; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Johnny were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with James "Butch" Linder officiating. The family requests memorials as a love offering to the family.
