Van Williams Sr., son of Paul Williams and Maude Roy Williams, was born.
He was preceded in born in Mansfield and spent most of his childhood there. While working in Oklahoma, he met Juanita on Aug. 5, 1937. Van and Juanita then returned to Mansfield where they were united in marriage and shortly thereafter they started their family with their first two children, Philip and Carol, being born. They later moved to Bradleyville where their youngest child, Trudy was Interment was in Mansfield born Aug. 18, 1937, in Northbrook, Ill., and departed this life Aug. 10, 2006 in his home in Ava at the age of 68.
On Aug. 30, 1982, Herbert and Georgia Raydene Lindsey were united in marriage in Miami, Okla.
Herbert was a resident of Ava for the past three years, moving here from Mesa, Ariz., where he had lived for 20 years. Herbert was a retired chief aviation structural mechanic for the U.S. Navy and also worked for and retired from Hughes Aircraft which later became McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Mesa, Ariz., and was of the Protestant faith. He was the first inspector of the Apache helicopter.
Before being disabled he enjoyed motocross racing, boating, fishing and putting together aircraft models. Herbert loved being with his family.
He was preceded in passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at his home near Warsaw, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was married to Ila Maas on Sept. 5, 1961, and she survives of the home. Also surviving are three sons, Bob Barnum and his wife, Linda, of Odessa, David Barnum of Cole Camp, and Kenneth Barnum of the home; one granddaughter, Kimberly Williams, and a great-grandson, Haden Williams, all of Ava; a brother, Jack Barnum, and his wife, Nadine, of Independence; numerous relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Burrel L. Barnum were held Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m. at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Art Smith officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant born Feb. 5, 1919, in Bertha, Mo., down on Bryant Creek. He married three times, to Juanita Coats, Dr. Barbara Rosine (mother of daughters Vicky and Sara), and Emelyn Rosalia.
Orvil is survived by his two daughters and three grandchildren, Sean, Heather, and Paige Gordon, children of daughter, Sara and son-in-law Scott Gordon. Orvil is also survived by one sister, Alta Shanks, and many nieces and nephews.
The only service will be visitation at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m. Military services and burial of the cremains will follow in the Ava death. There were extensive celebrations in honor of Orvil’s life in the Philippines, and he will be much missed by the people of Talisay, who knew him only as “The Captain.” Orvil had helped many people in the local community over the years.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, June 10, in the Dyer born Feb. 19, 1988, in South Laguna, Calif., and departed this life Sept. 26, 2006, at the age of 18.
Natalie was a resident of the Ava area for the past nine years. She was employed as a waitress and was also a student at Drury University. Natalie loved, trained and showed horses. God gave Natalie many gifts. She played the piano by ear beautifully, and was a talented artist.
Natalie is survived by her parents, Jack and Peggy Charchol, Ava; a brother, Jeff Charchol, Seymour; two half sisters, Jackie Jones, Australia, and Julie Fontaine, the state of Washington; a half brother, Daniel Charchol, of the state of Washington; maternal grandmother, Grace Field, Fullerton, Calif.; paternal grandmother, Mary Charchol, Bowling Green, Ohio; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Highway Church of the Nazarene, with the Revs. Mark Hatcher and Doyne (Butch) McCleary officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.
