Allison Joseph Hyak was went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2006, at the age of 80.
She was death by her parents, Clarence and Naomi Steinert; her brothers, Robert and Jack Steinert; and her son, Edward Sparkman.
She is survived by her son, Richard Hale and daughter-in-law Edna, of Conway; daughters Nancy Burks and son-in-law Richard, of Joplin and Janie Magdziarz and son-in-law, Richard of Springfield; her daughter-in-law, Margaret Sparkman, of Springfield; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday, June 15) at Greenlawn North Funeral Home, Springfield. Burial will follow in Payne born on Feb. 12, 1912, in Douglas County, Mo., to James L. and Amanda Morris Brown. She interment were June 14 in Lowry City.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Carrell (Gene) of Bolivar, and Sue Storm of Overland Park, Kan.; three granddaughters, Jana Duke (Brad) of Springfield, Lisa Carrell of Burbank, Calif., and Carmen Gray (Brian) of Charlotte, N.C. She leaves two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Samantha Duke of Springfield and a number of nieces and nephews, many of whom live in the Douglas County area.
Lu was preceded in died in 1997. She was the tenth of 12 children, all of whom predeceased her. Her siblings were Sherman William Brown, Rosa Davis, Bertha Davis, John Jesse Brown, Bessie Snook, Everett Brown, Vernia Allen Brown, Louis Brown, James Orville Brown, Charles Brown and Leroy Brown.
After graduation from Ava High School, Lu attended college in Tallequah, Okla., just long enough to get her teaching certificate and then returned to Douglas County to teach in country schools. It was at Whites Creek School that she met Bruce Shrum and they passing interest-painting. She enjoyed painting nature scenes, old buildings, flowers, and animals. She competed and placed in a number of art shows in the area. Bruce enjoyed framing the pictures and carting her here and there to art exhibitions.
In the early 90's, Lu's primary job became caring for Bruce and helping him remember his favorite scriptures as long as he possibly could.
After Bruce's born on Jan. 9, 1922, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and departed this life on June 27, 2006, in Seymour, at the age of 84.
Almena was a resident of the Ava community for the past 26 years moving from Wisconsin. She was a homemaker. On July 3, 1941 Almena and Richard H. Sturgeon Sr. were united in marriage in Chicago, Ill., and to this union one son was death by her parents and her husband, Richard Sturgeon Sr. in 2003.
She is survived by her son and wife, Richard H. and Alice Sturgeon Jr., Ava, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Tim Brubeck officiating and cremation following. Burial of cremains will be in the Hubbard passed away Friday, June 30, 2006, in the Veterans Home, Mt. Vernon.
He was born. Ernie proudly served his country with the United States Navy during World War II and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1986. He was an avid coon hunter and enjoyed spending time with his hunting buddies. Ernie was also a member of Hopedale Baptist Church, of Ozark.
Preceding him in passed away July 18, 2006. Services will be held at the Blanche Community Church at the former site of Blanche, Missouri, on Saturday, July 22, at 10 a.m. Burial will be immediately following services to celebrate and honor her life.
The family will receive visitors at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Gertie was born.
She, along with her husband, Hugh, to whom she would have been married her husband, Hugh L. Stout, on Nov. 29, 1929. He survives of the home.
She was preceded in Cemetery or the Gentryville Community Church, c/o Clinkingbeard Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Miya Lea Frye, 17

Miya Lea Frye, daughter of James Ellis “Rusty” Frye II and Danita Lynn Porter Frye, was death by her grandparents, Pat and Louise Porter, one sister, Autumn Louise, and an uncle, Doug Porter.
She is survived by her daughter, Autum Kaydence Blaze Miller, Squires; her parents, James Ellis “Rusty” Frye, Squires, and Danita Lynn Frye, Ava; grandparents, Jimmie and Jean Frye, Squires; one sister, Kiya Belle Lynn Head, Gainesville; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special friend, Sayde Garrett.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, with the Revs. Mark Degase and Stan Collins officiating. Cemetery. Visitation was held Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
The family requests memorials to the Education Fund for her daughter, Autum Miller in care of the funeral home. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.
