Bonnie Harrison, daughter of John Layman and Cora Belle (Clayton) Ridenour, was passing on Dec. 10, 1999.

Leland M. Warden, 85

Leland M. Warden, 85, was lovingly welcomed into Heaven on Dec. 1, 2006.
Leland was born to Mark and Hattie (Hicks) Warden. He graduated from Ava High School and attended Southwest Bible School in Bolivar.
He relocated to Richland, Wash. In the 1940s he served honorable in the U.S. Air Force. Upon discharge from the service, he returned to Richland, Wash., and worked for Hanford Atomic Works in several supervisory positions. Upon retiring he did much work in medical research, etc., about Parkinson's Disease, of which he was afflicted. He wanted to help others all he could.
He was the Parkinson's Support Group leader. He was very proud to be honored with a dinner and plaque bestowing him an honorary doctorate by Drs. Lehiri and Washington. When asked about his health he liked to say, "Fine as a frog hair."
Leland is survived by wife, Cora (Sue) of the home; two daughters, Janice (Jann) Hughes and husband, Larry, of Kent, Wash., and Karen Samuelson and husband, Scott, of Kennewick, Wash.; two granddaughters, Noell (Frank) Blavka and Bethany Samuelson; one sister, Wilma June Shaull, Springfield; and three brothers, Glenn, Hot Springs Village, Ark., Larry, Peculiar, and Norman, Sierra Vista, Ariz.
He was preceded in born the son of Jessie Dean and Mattie Lou Martin Price in the Wasola area on April 7, 1924 and lived his entire life in that community and in Ava.
On Dec. 20, 1947, Doy and Emogene Frye were born. In 1965 they opened their hearts to a foster son. Doy was a farmer at heart, working hard to see that his family had everything he could provide; he also drove a truck and Ava School bus through the years. For enjoyment Doy liked elk hunting in Colorado, deer hunting and fishing here at home, and also going on vacations with his children and grandchildren. Doy was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Ava.
Doy is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Emogene; two daughters, Wanda and Johnnie Johnson, and Brenda and Daymon Milligan, all of Ava; a special son John and Kathy Borawski, of Liberty, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jo, Jennie, and James Johnson, and Julie Taylor, all of Ava, and Brendan Price, of Springfield; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and their spouses, Lynn and Norma Price, Holden, Mo., and Lyle and Betty Price, Wasola; three sisters, Virginia Burnett, Ava, Glenda Beach, Holden, and Hettie Cooper, Wasola; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Doy was preceded in Cemetery, with the Revs. B.J. Evans and Tom Maples officiating. The family requests memorials to Community Hospice (Mtn. Grove) or Ava Senior Citizens in care of the funeral home. Services were conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Raymond R. Brown, 71

Raymond Richard Brown, 2006 Potentate of Ararat Shriners in Kansas City, Cemetery in Ozark County. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ray Brown Memorial Fund at Ararat Shrine Temple, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129.
Ray was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Brown Branch, Mo., and departed this life March 28, 2007 at the age of 82.
Gertrude was a resident of Springfield, for several years moving from McClurg. On March 8, 1946, Gertrude and Gerald Lyons were united in marriage in Harrison, Ark. Gertrude and Gerald were blessed with two sons. Mr. Lyons preceded Gertrude in death.
Gertrude was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, shopping and visiting with friends. Most of all she loved being with her family.
Gertrude is survived by her two sons, Pat Lyons and Sharon, Theodosia, and Joe and Brenda Lyons, Azle, Texas; five grandchildren, Angela, Melissa, Clarissa, Mike and Mathew; two great-grandchildren, Zachariah and Dylan; two sisters, Nona Mae Walker, Richland, Wash., and Sarah Frances Owens, Mtn. Home, Ark.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Rob Dalton officiating. Cemetery.
Bennie J. Johnson, 63

Bennie J. Johnson, age 63, of Amboy, Ill., born in Smallett, Mo., on Aug. 25, 1941, the son of Earnest and Lela (Wilkinson) Johnson.
He was employed by Luja Tiling and Excavating in Amboy for 31 years. He was a member of the Musician's Union and had played with two local bands, the Country Playboys and the Rhythm Ramblers.
He was united in marriage to Susan Hintz in Dixon, Ill., on Oct. 2, 1976.
He was preceded in Interment will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
