Samuel Lawrence Hannaford, age 88, of Mansfield, born June 24, 1918 in Gainesville, the son of the late Edwin and Ellen Hannaford.
Lawrence was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in Interment was in the Dyer born on March 19, 1929, in Douglas County, Mo., and departed this life suddenly on Aug. 5, 2006, in the Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains at the age of 77.
Monty grew up in Douglas County and graduated from Ava High School in 1947. Following graduation, she attended Missouri Arkansas Baptist College in West Plains and taught at Little Zion School for one year. She was united in marriage to Albert C. Terkosky on Aug. 15, 1950, in Mtn. Home, Ark. They moved to Livonia, Mich., where she worked for Burls. When Al’s health started failing, they moved back to the Mtn. Grove area.
Mr. Terkosky married Dwain Virtue on Oct. 2, 1971, and lived in the Mtn. Grove area for many years. At the time of her death by one brother, Richard Hitchcock; her mother-in-law, Thelma Virtue; and by one brother-in-law, Clifford Kelley.
She is survived by her husband, Dwain Virtue, of their home; her sister-in-law, Lois Kelley; her brother-in-law and his wife, David and Kim Virtue; a niece, Katie Virtue; a nephew, Curtis Virtue; her godchildren, Jolanda Blackwell and Jake Childs; special friends, Garry, Pam and Ellie Childs; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Monty Virtue were held Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m., in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with the Rev. Duane Crewse officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Home passed away at Cox Medical Center North, Springfield, on Feb. 3, 2005. She was death by three brothers, Earl, Clifford and Elwood Woolman; and one sister, Rebecca Sargent.
Eula was a devoted mother and loved people. She retired from restaurant work.
She was buried at Yates died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial was in Rose Hill born Jan. 18, 1928, in Mountain Grove, the daughter of Sherman David and Opal Minnie (Hayes) Phillips. She was united in marriage to George F. Hutchison on Nov. 5, 1949, in Rock Island County, Ill. He preceded her in death by her parents; her twin daughters; her stepson, Brad Branford; her grandson, Michael; her brother, Clarence; and her sisters, Elsie and Genevieve.

Marvin M. Miller, 72, of Bettendorf, Iowa, born in Brixey, Mo., on Feb. 26, 1934, the son of Doshia (Leek) and Claude E. Miller. He was death by two sisters, Geneva Miller and Ola Jane Dubil; and his parents, Doshia and Claude Miller.
Virginia Ellen (Woolman) Poindexter, 63

Virginia Ellen Woolman Poindexter, daughter of Clifford Ival Woolman and Dessie Irene Parker Woolman, was married for 36 years. She was a member of the Langley Baptist Church and the American Legion Womens Auxiliary in Spavinaw, Okla.
Virginia played and sang in a bluegrass band. She loved quilting, making crafts and porcelain and ceramic dolls. She also loved to travel. Most of all being with her family was her joy.
Virginia was preceded in Cemetery, east of Ava in Douglas County, with the Pastor Tim Smith officiating.
Visitation was held at 11:00 a.m. to noon Monday prior to the service at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Services were conducted by Clinkingbeards.
Jennifer Sue Canfield, 39

Jennifer Sue Canfield passed from this life in rural Douglas County surrounded by her loving family. She entered this life in Phoenix, Ariz., on Nov. 22, 1966, the daughter of Everett and Darlene Sue Canfield.
Jennifer was interested in staying at home with her children, being outside in nature, and spending time with friends. She was always there for her children and took time to become as close as a best friend to them.
Jennifer was a very generous person and gave as much to this world as she could, not only materialistically, but in what she left for the world through her children.
Jennifer was also interested in baking with her mother and sharing her homemade “goodies” with friends and family. Some of her other passions included bingo, where she went with her mother every Saturday night, and playing pool, where she had hoped to win one last tournament. She loved animals and was always ready to take in any needy animal.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene Sue Canfield, her husband, Tony Madrid, and grandmother, Tharon Canfield.
Jennifer is survived by her father, Everett Canfield, of Gilbert, Ariz.; a son, Justin Canfield, a daughter, Amber Canfield, and a daughter-in-law, Lindsey Henry, all of Ava; two brothers, Kelly Canfield, Denver, Colo., and James Canfield, Tampa, Fla.; a grandmother, Janice Wilson, Springfield; and stepmother, Maria; as well as a host of family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Set Free Church, with the Rev. Lester Turner officiating. Services were under the direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
