Fred Wendell Quessenberry of Ozark, Missouri was died on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008.
Wendell was preceded in born Feb. 4, 1947, in Mtn. Grove, to parents Gale and Juanita McBride Gunter. He departed this life Oct. 2, 2008 in his home in Ava surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness.
Robert lived in the Brixey area as a boy where he learned to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed hunting deer and squirrel. He loved his family dearly. He was a good father; grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and cousin as well as a good friend to all who knew him. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He had recently accepted the Lord as his personal Savior. He worked as a carpenter and brick mason for many years. He will also be remembered for his keen sense of humor.
He was preceded in Cemetery with the Revs. Oren Alcorn and Shane Chellis officiating. Visitation was hosted at the Ava Family Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. All arrangements were under the care and direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.

William Ellis Suggs, 56, Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Brookside Funeral Home, in Houston, Texas. born the son of Paul and Georgia Chaffee Miller on Jan. 11, 1929, in Ben Davis, Mo., and departed this life in Springfield on April 2, 2005, at the age of 76.
Bud was always looking for new adventures in life, trying many hats and enjoying them all. He owned and operated his own tire shop, sold real estate, was airport manager at Ava airport for six years, was a private pilot, and an accomplished musician, playing big band music, and all his jobs were things he loved to do. Playing big band music, flying and taking people up and around Ava, and traveling in general.
Bud attended First General Baptist Church in Ava.
Bud and Ruth E. Smith were born. Ruth preceded him in married Peggy Allison who survives and lives in Ava. Also surviving are his sons, Steve and his wife, Carol Miller, North Port, Fla., Daniel and wife, Sofia Miller, Salisbury, N.C., David Miller and his fiancée, Karen Johnson, Branson; one daughter, Nancy and her husband, Steve Borner, Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Doug and wife, Camille Scott, Sycamore, Ill., Donald Scott, Chicago, Ill. Steve and wife, Kathy Scott, Knob Noster, and Kim and husband, Stan Humbyrd, of Ava; five step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Enola Grimstead and her husband, Bob, of Mtn. Home, Ark., and June Johnson, of Ava.
Bud was preceded in born on Nov. 5, 1918 in Bertha, Mo., and born. Retha was a Christian and a devoted member of the Faith Rock Church in Ava. She loved her family, church family and her friends.
She was preceded in Interment will follow in the Brushy Knob passed away Sunday. Sept. 14, 2008. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens with a visitation at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel.
Minnie is survived by her husband of 72 years, Roy E. Tharp; three sons, Robert, James, and Michael Tharp; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces.
Roy Tharp was Ava High School band director in the 1940s.

Verlin Denzil Dalton, 66, born Sept. 23, 1923 in Dora, Mo., to George David and Mell Vina (Croney) Collins, and married on April 26, 1946, and to this union four children were death by two half sisters, Beatrice and Ethel Gunter; three half brothers, Leeman Collins and Leon and Pearly Mageehon; and two brothers, Lester and Leslie Collins.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 5, from 6 to 7 p.m. and funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, both at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home. Cemetery.
The family has requested memorial donations to Hospice Care of St. Johns or Neighbor Helping Neighbor.
